- Thought i'd start playing through entire songs from my band's album "technicolor" as a way to get them fully clean and performance-ready!
I'm listening to a click in my ears here.
tone: EQD warden compressor, walrus audio julia, vox ac10 amp (I kick on caroline guitar somersault at end and kick off the julia) - เพลง
im a 15 y/o girl whos been playing guitar since i was 8 but i never really focused on a certain style, your channel made me decide to focus on fingerstyle. i saw your palimpsest excerpt on a discord server and i fell into a loophole of content with that style. it's mesmerizing and beautiful to listen to and to watch you play. thank you for inspiring me
This rules and I’m so excited for your guitar journey 🖤🖤🖤
Musicians of this sort are simple finger picking, (just one pattern), and they're filling out arpeggios, (if you spot a five finger chord, then those are the notes, the entire sound.)
this can't even get more likes cause it's already good, the time of tbe inspiration too 4:20
@@Pimp-Master if it’s so easy then how about you make one of these songs
Look into Mark Knopler some as well. "Sultans of Swing".
This made me forget the world for a while. Thank you
same, it's insane to how fun it is to see her play
Me2
me too
Same.
I'm an ICU nurse on a COVID unit. It's 2:34 in the morning, February 2021. I'm at work. Two men just died within 8 minutes of each other. A rough night. Patients are just coming in all the time and they don't get out.
Just so you know, this pulled me out of this unit for a few wonderful minutes, I floated above it all, so thanks 😊.
Keep up the great work 💪
Thank you
Thank you for your service, sir! ☺️
Shouldn't you be filming tik toks?
@@TwoLeftSh0es ?
The sad part is a lil less than half the country is still saying Covid is just a hoax! I wonder where they got that from 🤔 my sister is a charge nurse and she tells me how sad it is to see people straining to breathe and some die!
Then you go to the store and some “Karen” is screaming “it’s my right NOT to wear a mask 😷 “! 🤦🏼♂️
I agree, this song gave me a moment to sort of forget how awful and selfish people can be...
One thing I’ll always admire about Yvette is her ability to play something so perfect and challenging whilst making It look so fun!
I was talking about this recently with some musicians. I really think even if you couldn't see her smile, it comes through in the music. I hate to sound metaphysical about it, but you can just hear her completely channeling the emotions through the guitar. It's so authentic and you just know it's coming from the heart.
@@mikeydamonster I love that you got Metaphysical about it because this is something I have been thinking about for Years as a musician myself! 🔥
To be able to play a legit song just by yourself with 1 Guitar... That's my end goal as a Guitar Player so to be able to play even just remotely as well as Yvette does is my dream.
1: This track is incredible, I love the guitar sound, the style everything!
2: How do you play a song this complicated and maintain a normal, happy facial expression??? I play anything and I look so angry at life aha
3: I absolutely love that shirt!
im mostly impressed how well she stays in rhythm
This has to be one of the things I admire the most about her, you can really notice how much effort it took to get where she is, how focused she always seems to be but yet how much she gets lost in the tunes, it makes you genuinelly connect to the music
@@TheSanti2833 Forreal though. The first time I heard Falkor I picked up a guitar for the first time in 2 years I was so inspired. I practice every day now thanks to Yvette
If you look angry while playing it probably means you're not very relaxed and so not at a high enough proficiency for what you're playing.
@@NickHchaos Did you ever heard about Black Metal?
The 4 people that disliked just missed the like button because they were too busy crying over how beautiful this is
Probably
I can confirm I was one of them
I love how she “winks” 😉 at her guitar! Like she’s saying “good job” with that chord! It makes me smile 😃 this song makes me kinda happy 😊 inside!
Psychedelics + your music = 🤯
this song had a different feel this morning. i just found out my uncle passed away from covid complications last night. gonna be playing this on a loop for a while and think about all the good times we had together. everyone tell their family they love them.
Sorry for your loss. Glad this can help, even just a little bit
@@mikeydamonster thank you ❤️
So sorry about losing your uncle. Hang in there and take care of yourself and your loved ones! I’m grateful my music can be helpful and calming in any way to you!
@@yvetteyoungmusic Thank you ❤️. this song has helped me to say goodbye.
Music has a way of helping us to cope with the emotions we feel and appreciate the moments we've been able to have. I'm so sorry for the loss, I send my condolences!
definitely in the Top 10 Most Beautiful Videos on the Internet
There’s nothing I love more than an artist showing fans how to play their songs 🥲
She plays as if love is coming out of her fingers and then she smiles. Peace Yvette.
Amen 🙏
The facial reactions she makes always make my day better. Just pure joy and passion. I love it.
For anyone wondering, this entire album is amazing. Been listening to it on ytm this morning and it is all as awesome as this.
I think it's the 4th or 5th time i come here today. That sound, those melodies, the way her fingers seem to never touch the guitar strings... It's all mesmerizing to me
always an emotional experience listening to your music! such a moving tune, literally and figuratively. c:
Right 💯💯💯
these solo uploads make me so happy
So happy to open TH-cam to one of my favorite people 🥺
As an ex-guitarist, I can say you are a *_genius_* at fretwork. My admiration for you every time I hear you play.
Just to know that sounds like that can be produced by a human being. Makes me feel grateful to be alive. I'm glad I found this, so good.
When I heard this song for the first time, I listened to it all week all days.
Of all the rain sound and frequency videos on here, you vibing out on the guitar is the most relaxing thing I've found. Please keep posting!
The best part of watching you play are your facial expressions. All those little smiles. It's quite obvious you feel whatever you're playing and I love it.
I just wanted to say I freaking LOVE your hairstyle. Also you always look so happy when you play, I can tell you love what you do. Proud to be a fan!
Gosh, this whole thing is beautiful and the music video always plays through my head! I absolutely love the caroline guitar somersault feel at the end. It's...satisfying? Nostalgic? Brings me back feelings of sitting on my bed, feet not even able to touch the ground. Behind me, on my wall - a homemade banner made of construction paper, tape, and string that reads "Runescape." I'm listening to old, degraded cassettes out of my mom's leather-wrapped portable tape recorder. Hot dinner is ready in 10 minutes, boxed tuna tetrazzini. It's cold outside but the hot air rises from the vents in our small house and swirls around me, like a gentle squeeze. Thank you
Literally just looked up your name to rewatch your older videos. What a pleasant surprise I got when I saw this new video.
My goodness! You completely rock my world. So thankful I accidentally found you and your mesmerizing ability to create masterpieces. 63 year old musician/school teacher here. Will be playing your music for my students. Thanks so much for your inspiration. You make this world a better place!
I love when you post playthroughs. I’m a very visual learner so learning songs by ear is def not my strong suit, and while I can read tabs and sheet music, sometimes it’s entirely too hard to focus (very high ADHD). It’s great to be able to see you play your music, and be able to skip around, slow things down, etc. Very much appreciated.
I cannot stop listening to this it makes me feel so happy
honestly words can't express how much i love this song
This song has helped me through some dark times where I felt that I wasn’t healthy anymore. But it inspired me to keep my head up and keep going. Thank you Yvette.
Love this - it has a lovely flow, like ripples on a lake hitting the shore
I would say i love it
But saying I love it is understating the emotions i have attached to your music but particularly this. I am so blessed to have found your music and I am sincerely grateful for the music you put out because it has helped me through alot of rough times in my life.
Love from the philippines
I took my son to Swanfest and him and I agree that your band was the highlight of our day. Can’t wait to see Covet in SF. Your music is inspirational and gives me great hope. thank you ✨
You are absolutely divine. Please never stop putting out music.
I literally yelled "I love her! She's the nicest guitarist ever!" at the SuperBowl today and then I found you here on my TH-cam home again. Thanks for making all of these moments, these months.
I just wanna say this song helped me through some rough times and It was the perfect capstone on a great album. Keep up the great work!
You just became one of my favorite TH-camrs, and this is only my second video.
And the award for best awesomest new guitarist goes to..Yvette for most unique new style. Gotta love those slides, i could relax all day to this
I love that you’re doing this. Technicolor got me through last year.
I could sit here and watch you play forever ♾
It’s songs like these where I wonder how much time and learning it can take one to reach this mastery, it’s just so impressive and inspiring
you always look so at ease and happy when you're playing, yvette! i could watch you play guitar for hours
The solo part is so beautiful.
Your music always brings river images to my mind.
Love it 💚
Such an absolute angel.. Wow, i rember hearing these melodies through out random playlists but to actually see this in ads everywhere i mean... (not entirely sure how production works within the music industry) A real goddess in art
I randomly found this and my life has been better since
Shaping up to be one of the greats of our generation if not already, extreme talent is what I think of when I’m on this channel
Again she comes in with the heat! I’m always amazed by your creativity with this instrument, please keep it up!
Just saw you in the super bowl and that was pretty awesome
Over time you’ve easily become one of my favorite guitarists. I just love your style especially with this song. You’ve inspired me to mess with open tunings a lot more. You’re awesome! And thanks for the inspiration!!
you’re songs make me feel nostalgic on my first listen you have super song writing skills
One word: beautiful.
Your chord structures are so refreshing Yvette! Always drawn in from the first seconds, thank you for the creative inspiration. ❤️
Hey, Yvette Idk if you'll see this but hi! I originally found your music on Soundcloud, especially the song adventure spirit, the tide, (A map, a string, a light) and they helped me get through a lot of tough life struggle. I use to have trouble sleeping when I was younger and listening to you play the guitar and sing, it always put me to sleep even if I had headaches. I just wanna say thank you for helping me through my childhood and even recently. I went back to those old songs and fell in love with them all over again. I don't know if you have any bad memories tied to those songs but they helped me a lot and I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Now I found your youtube channel and it feels like home already, I can tell you got better at the guitar and you sound lovely!
You've inspired my guitar playing so much. There's so much color in your music. I can't wait to catch one of your shows one day. Thanks for all you do, and never stop playing.
That sound is sublime. Goosebumps all around!
Absolutely beautiful. It's like the perfect soundscape to a daydream when I close my eyes. Well done!
Man, nothing has made me want to just pick my guitar up and just play whatever in a while. Thank you, this is so beautiful and inspiring!
seriously in love with this - it has been my morning wake-up song for a few weeks now!
This speaks to me soul and my spirit so much. Shes so deeply special. You can feel it in her music. Its magical.
Gracias, Yvette. 🥹
your faces while playing this
I could listen to you play guitar all day
this is my favourite one yet
Your music itself tells such a wonderful story. Please never stop doing what you do.
I'm loving hearing you play and see your videos. You became one of my favourite guitarists.
Ive never seen anything so perfect in my life 🥺❤️
Those modal interchange transitions gave me such tears of joy.
Love it!, such a beautiful song. Not many guitarists have the ability to write and play something so melodic and ethereal sounding that it can really take the mind of the listener to somewhere completely out there. You and Steve Vai are 2 guitarists that I find myself turning on most if I'm feeling down or depressed or upset because it has the ability to just completely separate me from the negative emotions in my life at that moment and completely shift my entire mood. When you're able to have your playing do that to someone that's how you know you truly have an amazing gift. Your playing is so inspirational, I've been playing guitar for 20 years (since I was 10 years old) and your playing has opened up a new door in my brain to a style of technical playing that I never knew existed. 😊😊
This makes me feel like im riding a wave and i love every second of it
I bet she owns perfect pitch - hears a sound first in the brain, relates to it and immediately can find it on the fretboard ?
Magnificent control over the guitar and melodically beautiful piece too ---> subscribed. I could not not to!
When ever i listen to your track i seriously just really wish to see you go live in here your vibe is just so different,& I really love your way of music, keep up with The composing n stuff love from Meghalaya🤘🤘
Please keep playing forever
I'm so glad I discovered your channel. I love
that you use your gifts of music, art, and just who you are. You are so cool and special.
It’s surely not possible to be attracted to musical ability but this channel and it’s namesake proprietary virtuoso severely challenge that notion.
Discovered your channel randomly and am so happy that I did, your musicianship and talent are inspiring, not to mention it’s just really chill and fun music to enjoy. Also a good reminder for me to keep practicing :) Thanks for sharing your artistic creation!
How many hours a day do you play?
good to see u here Tyler! :)
I'm curious as well about this!
i think 40 hours
@@bayurizkydwigacandra7792 def 40
Omg not enough! It’s variable...sometimes I’m unable to play for 2 weeks and I start to get restless. Other days I sit and play for 6 hours straight! Sometimes stepping away from my guitar actually refreshes my mindset and I play better and feel better as well!
fantastic. thank you. i stumbled apon your video just randomly and i am blessed to hear such amazement.
love the fun you obviously have while playing, good on you!
1. Is that an artificial harmonic at 2:15 ? It's so subtle but it adds so much to the balance of everything. It's really really great.
2. The HUGE whammy is just so tasteful at 2:43 I simply, simply just want to play that again and again on repeat.
3. You're crazy!!! Very insane, very cool
I had to rewind to catch 😉
Agreed on all points
its not an artificial harmonic she is just tapping the 12th fret
C’est très magnifique, comme toujours. Merci pour le chanson Yvette :)
I have a doctor appointment next week, it seems Im suffering with that carpal tunnel syndrome, which means I might be unable to play guitar again, thing I've been avoiding to do for a while because of the pain in my wrists and this makes me very sad, not that I'm a good player like you, but listening to the voice of your heart makes me want to try becoming good and listen to mine, though I know this might be not a reality, I thank you for helping me dream again (:
I had that as a result of how I played. I fixed my playing and the problem went away. That was 30 years ago and I'm still playing.
@@davidjohnston4240 I'll look into this with the doctor, David, thank you
@@bearnando What I was doing was pressing too hard, because my finger positioning was not optimal, so the strings needed pressing harder to avoid buzzing. With some practice on better fingering I found I was able to use much less force. This was a combination of where I put my thumb behind the neck and how close to the frets I pressed on the strings. Then the pain in my wrist subsided pretty quickly. If you're putting a lot of physical effort into playing, you're doing suboptimally and should be able to find a better hand positioning that takes less physical effort.
The Technicolor album has gotten me into Covet. - it's an absolute timeless masterpiece.
Appreciate your work and guitar Yvette. God bless you
Those harmonics...they're so perfect I can feel them in my soul. Thanks for taking the time to share this gift ✌🏽
Shes such an amazingly clean player. Beautiful tone too. Love that vox
The way you groove and smile while you play makes it even better ❤
Dear Yvette,
I only just discovered your music from the Guitar World article, which I now thank heavens I had a chance to read...in the week since then you've rocketed past Eastick, Page & even Hendrix to become my favorite guitarist, and frankly musician of any kind.
I hear echoes of Robert Fripp and Vini Reilly, but your timing, melodies and proficiency are in another league entirely, utterly sublime! And if that were not enough, your palette of tones is so varied and so beautiful... I can't think of anyone else's music that literally brings smiles to my face every time I listen :)
To call you a natural is to use an overworked expression that very very few musicians really truly deserve, but it's the only word that describes how perfectly music seems to flow from you, we are so lucky to have you in this world!
I wish you the stellar career you deserve, if enough of the world can discover and appreciate your incredible talent.
Thank you so much on behalf of all of us!
Perfect and beautiful in so many ways. I don't know where to begin. Beautiful technique, emotive phrasing, happy, peaceful composition. I could listen all day. Great job!!!😉🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥
I've listened to extreme metal most of my life, and never had any interest in learning guitar. It wasn't until I started getting into atmospheric black metal and randomly got recommended some math rock, which lead me to your playthrough of Ares, that I decided I had to learn. I'm completely awful, the strings are killing my fingers, and I'm so far from where I want to be, the light at the end of the tunnel might as well be a dim star during the daytime. That being said, I think my biggest hurdle is going to be learning to see music the way you do. Your background in theory and piano allow you to compose in a way other guitarists don't. I'm not saying I want to sound like you, but something you said about singing a song in your head and then learning to play that on the guitar struck a chord with me. I'm learning using apps, and videos for regular guitar, but I'm planning on getting formal lessons for classical guitar, both because of how well it translates to fingerstyle and how it integrates into atmospheric/acoustic black metal. I admire you in a way I haven't anyone before, can you offer me some direction so I can reach my goals?
I understand you, I'm also trying to learn, it's not easy, but gradually, one day we get there! 😊
Hang in there and keep going! I do fingerstyle on acoustic and when I first started I thought I would NEVER be able to do something anywhere near of an amazing fingerstyle player named "Andrew Foy" on youtube. Half a year later I'm recording videos playing most of the time his arrangements! Just KEEP GOING! You got this!
Somehow seeing what you’re actually doing in isolation makes me appreciate/understand this track even more
I want this playing in my last moments of life
Lovely! It is entertaining to listen to and watch you play; very nice sound and wonderful to see you ecstatic playing it. Thanks kindly!
Hey Yvette its really inspiring to see that you overcome a great deal of difficulties in your past and to see you now bloom as the person you are is wonderful, and gives me faith in myself to change for the better as well! Thx for being the artistic awesome humble cute inspiring person that you are! You always make me smile. Keep on being you!
Warm up is climbing the mountain , but once we get on top such a beautiful place. I too got there last night, Wow I did not want to put the guitar down.... you're very good dear lady.
Seeing you play like this give more motivation to continuing playing the guitar, thanks
That riff around the 2:30 mark reminds me of a 80s sitcom. Love it.
OMG Yvette, you are hands down my favorite musician ever and I just want you to know that you're the reason I started playing guitar in the first place. Keep being awesome!
i love how happy you look when you play. The song is beautiful!
Was just getting ready for the work day at my trade school, and had to vibe to this for a few minutes. I could listen to you play for hours. 💕😁
