Yes, I would just like to clarify that we were colonized by Europeans who brought their stuff over; we can’t really help that. Well, we basically fought the Mexican Revolution in 1910 because rural peasants were starving while the elite were trying to recreate Paris in the capital city.
Tremendous Capital City!. Visitors quickly realize of the history, art, culture and tradition, and off course the delicious gastronomy. Mexico City is just fascinating , too much to explore and discover Mexico has the largest number of world heritage sites recognized by UNESCO in the Americas! Great country!
Mexico City isn't trying to emulate anything, especially not Europe. While the current population may not be predominantly white like in many European cities, it's understandable that some might feel a contrast between the "brown people" and the European architecture and traditions woven into Mexican culture. However, it’s important to remember that Mexico City was once the capital of New Spain, a Spanish Viceroyalty in North America. In a sense, Mexico City was never trying to be European-it was Europe, in a theoretical type of way.
