Evolution of Rainbow High - A Retrospective in Teal: Daphne Minton, Zooey Electra & Berrie Skies

- Today we will be taking a look at 4 dolls from the Rainbow High family of dolls. These 4 dolls span the last 3 years of the series, from Rainbow High series 3 to the Shadow High series 2 and 3. Also, these dolls all share a color theme, in various teals.
See the evolution of how we went from getting a fully articulated doll, with Daphne Minton from Series 3 to when they released the budget Rainbow High Series 3 version of Daphne, with far less articulation and a simpler outfit. With both Shadow High dolls, Zooey Electra & Berrie Skies, we also see the addition of accessories but lack of a second outfit.

Daphne is still one of my favorites in my collection. I wasn't a fan of the Shadow High dolls at first, but they are growing on me.
I always love to hear everyone's thoughts on their favorite dolls. For the longest time I didn't think I would get Daphne but I actually found her months ago on MGA's web shop so I ordered her. So glad I did! I remembered that's where I bought her after I recorded the video. Shadow High dolls were what really got me into collecting Rainbow High dolls. My first doll I ever bought new from this series was Ash Silverstone, then I was only going to collect the boy dolls. But then I picked up some of the girls from a thrift shop and I fell in love with them too. Haha 😄
@@BearlyUnboxed I bought Karma Nichols on a whim when the second (?) series came out. I was floored by the quality, so bought Winter Break Skylar. Again, just amazed. Told myself I'd only get a few of yhese dolls. Last count, I had over 30 lol

I'd love to see Novi Stars come back. I actually looked to see if I could order a Novi Star doll somewhere and I was shocked how expensive they sell for. I ended up ordering a couple from AliExpress. I'll have to do a video when I get them 😆
I find it interesting how Daphne Minton got so ridiculously expensive somehow. I only have one original Series 3 Daphne Minton doll that I got a few weeks after her release, and that was the only time I ever saw her in-person IRL.
I honestly LOVE the Shadow High doll line! Its a comfort doll line for me, the Storm Twins are my favorite dolls of all time, and I feel fortunate enough to own a complete Shadow High collection of 42 dolls including a few duplicates, which is unusual for me since I am not normally a completionist. And that isn't even including my Rainbow High collection with only around 33 dolls (I count my SH and RH collections separately).
I also can't help but wonder why Shadow High has two teal dolls in 2 different series with both Zooey Electra and Berrie Skies. Maybe teal is just a popular color with dolls for some reason.🖤💜
I totally understand the appeal of Shadow High. I think I actually have them all too! I didn't even realize that until I thought about it. The Storm Twins are just so perfect! I think maybe Daphne is just so popular because she has a really sweet look to her and her color scheme is really beautiful. I didn't notice that MGA still has the multi pack of dolls that includes her, which is one way to get her still. I was also wondering why Zoey and Berrie are so similar and in back to back collections. Maybe they thought with Daphne being so popular, that they could sell more dolls in similar colors? I'm not really sure.
This may be an unpopular opinion but I really don't like the Rainbow line with "normal" skin colors. It was fun to have the entire doll - even their 'skin' be lavender or blue or orange.... it was just different!
I totally respect that! Shadow High dolls are some of my all time favorite dolls. The uniqueness of them all is what really appeals to me. I just love the fantasy skin tones. 💜
zooey was (and still is, tho i have plans to get more lmao) my first rainbow/shadow high doll and i am just. Obsessed with her. i think she is my favorite design from the series overall i'm not gonna lie. everything about her is so neat, she's an artist, she has a *tiny phone case* for her *tiny phone,* the jacket details ..... obsessed

Her design is just so unique! I noticed that on mine, her forehead circles are really faint but I have seen some where they are very visible. I might have to get a second one of her with more visible ones. 😆
And seriously, what's up with the hair gel they use at MGA? 😂 It's really hardcore.
