*well experienced in different weights Now I'm a beginner to fly fishing, but I've owned dozens of spinning and baitcasting rods over the years, and I can tell this is a pretty good deal. After practicing a few days in a big open backyard to get the proper timing and arm action, I felt I was ready for the water. That next Saturday morning- success on the 3rd cast!!. Long story short- after a late summer and fall season using this rod (and reel) on about every weekend, I'm very happy with the purchase and can't wait for the ice to melt and get out there again with it. If I were to break it or lose it, I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.*

If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.

When you are pulling the line out to cast again, what happens if a fish bites? It seems like you'll have 20 feet of slack for the fish to run away with. I'm brand new to fly fishing obviously.

Beginner tip on the casting, is not to roll your wrist as shown on this video, keep your wrist locked and do all the work with your arms and never flick your wrist or roll it back. You will end up with no power and only be able to get it out a short distance.

I’m new to fly fishing but when the fish hooks how do you deal with the line ? You take a lot out and do you try and hook it?

Dominic Mutto I always let the fish take a little if it’s bigger fish to ware them down. Basically hold the line with a finger on your casting hand and if you’re reel is like mine you can free spin it really fast with your free hand to get it reeled up. Just takes a little time and practice.
