- I fell in love with this catalog when I saw it in the antique store. Not only is it a freeze frame of the 1950's but it is a wonderful reference for the styles worn in those days. Hollywood could use this for a great consultation. As well, the personal letter at the beginning was personable and genuine. Something that is lost to us in these modern days.
The sounds are simple as we can only hear page turning & my soft spoken voice.

Rebecca, this catalog is such a rare find. The little bloomer undies you pointed out reminded me of my daughter wearing them under a dress. They had little ruffles on the back. So adorable. I really enjoyed looking through this catalog with you🤗💖💚

I've always adored 1950s clothing styles, movies and music. Such a wholesome period of time. This was such a treat to watch 😊

i’m only 19 so i grew up right as catalogs started to phase out, but i still remember getting kohl’s and “better homes & gardens” catalogs in the mail! i would RACE to tear them open and go though every page!

i love the layout of this catalog and how every page seems to have a collection of items that have a specific purpose, i feel like nowadays fashion is so much more chaotic and there's no functional fashion anymore, it's either bland or completely crazy or ugly. i feel like everything was so much simpler back then and of course that was because fast fashion was not a thing yet i assume, at least not how it exists now. i love the small collection compared to what we have now and the style of the time is gorgeous to me, so modest
Totally agree! I think fashion started to really lose its sense in the 90s. But some would argue that it started happening in the 60’s.
