I felt like we all lost something special when your Dad passed. We watched this every Thursday night at 8pm on channel 23 (MSU). I am really thankful that you put this up and hope you put them all up if that's possible. I can't stress enough to you how great this show was to me and my family. It makes me feel really good inside just being able to put this on and watch it. Thank you.

Aired two years before I was born but it's just as entertaining as what I watched through the 90's. Loved it. Never missed a Thursday night, lots of memories.

wow awesome, first episode , great tv personality, miss the show, always excited to see what he had for us each week, so different today with cable and satellite and instant gratification, everyone remembers you had to wait a full week to see the show, there where only about 9 channels, kids today can't even comprehend that ,lol, thanks again Zachary for keeping the show and memories alive ,,

I was a 19 year old rookie bow hunter when I started watching Fred I was eager to learn seeking info on whitetails where ever I could get it. There was no internet to gather information . I had a few books and a subscription to whitetail hunter magazine. Being young I was very nieve. I spent hundreds of dollars on gimmicks . When Fred did the whole series on bottled scents and urine I was glued to the Tv for every episode. Fred opened my eyes and saved me hundreds of dollars . It's s damn shame what they did to him after he called them out . Anybody who knows anything about scents and whitetails knows he was spot on. To this day I open all my mock scrapes with my own pee. Fred had a great show a wealth of knowledge and information for the time.

My father in law there, JIM DABB, who is now passed. Taught me my hunter safety. Little did I know I would be married to his son now for 30 years. We now show this to our grandchildren, Jim's great grandchildren..we lost him in 2017, 🙏rip to both of these awesome men.

Fred Trost was one of my favorite shows!! I'm not in Michigan but the show was shown on Sat mornings on pbs. The last show I saw, Fred was doing an expose on doe urine scents. At the end he had a gallon jug filled with "yours truely's" and sprinkled it around to show most of those products don't really do anything and using your own was probably just as effective. The show was never on tv again so never knew what happened.

From watching Mort Neff to your Dad EVERY Thursday evening at 7:00pm, I never missed an episode. Your Dad was extremely proficient at what he did. He conveyed what we wanted to see and hear in an extremely interesting way. He held us captive for each and every show. I miss Michigan Outdoors and The Practical Sportsman immensely. They are and were heads and tails above what is on TV nowadays.

The thing about my father was when it came to certain things he was a perfectionist. He was never into anything for the money. He truly believed it was his mission and purpose in life to bring the outdoors to everyone.

I was a fan from the very first show on. I made it a point to contribute to PBS when Fred was on. His personality made the show. I sat down on two occasions and talked at some length to him in private. I found him to be as personable in private as on the show. Outdoor television has never been as pleasant as it was on those Thursday nights.

Also I had to laugh at the burying trash part. Tree huggers would be furious about that nowadays.

I just found these videos on here. I always wondered who won the lawsuit over the video rights and It must have been you. You dad was a true sportsman of doing 52 shows a year and most times came home empty handed. That's a sportsman not these people today that name there big bucks years in advance with all there pictures and sheds. Then belittle the 14 year old kid for shooting a fork horn. Thanks

Fred had a genuine personality. He wasn't acting and that came through the camera loud and clear. You'd think those new clowns would get used to being on camera and be more natural but it never seems to happen.
