The only man capable of having a staring contest with a chaos God powered wall and having the wall blink first, purely by boring it to death with his own philosophical inner dialogue.
Imagine Rogal Dorn cracking jokes.

The individual on the other side of the door then asks the identity of the individual who was knocking on the door.

The individual who knocked on the door then loudly imitates the sound which the Domesticated cow makes. He does so by forming the "M" sound followed by the "O" sound, which is usually held for a period of time. Here it is in practice: "Moo".

I honestly think this is some of your finest voice overs. Dorn was already among my favorite Primarchs but he’s solidified himself as among the top 3. It makes me want him to be the next Primarch to return

I love this story thread, because rogal is vulnerable and human for the first time.
Also what surprises me is how patient khorne is with rogal. I didn't expect patience and khorne could fit together.
I think it goes to show how much Khorne wanted him.

@@TemplarBlack. I admit that may be true as well. I can't wait for the scouring to be released so we can see who was right. But it wasnt just the cage, it was how he was after the cage too. However I am not a loremaster so i may have missed some critical parts of the lore here that might change my perspective. Also keep in mind that grief and anger can and often do go hand in hand. So just because it was grief does not mean khorne could not tap into that. Especially tempt him further with promises of being released from it.
It's too often overlooked that Guiliman and Ultramarines and Dorn and Imperial Fists had a genetic flaw that gave them anger issues.

I just wanted to say that I've enjoyed your voice overs so far, especially with the ones about Rylanor's Final Stand, Sanguinius' Speech at the Eternity Gate, Daemon Lorgar vs Warp Corvus, Horus vs Sanguinius, and the Birth of the Black Rage just to name a few.
I do have a good idea for a voice over on May 4 (Star Wars Day): the birth and the death of Darth Vader. The birth segment can be taken from Matthew Stover's "Revenge of the Sith" novelization (specifically the "This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker, forever" segment) and the death can be taken from James Kahn's "Return of the Jedi" novelization (specifically the section in an unmasked Vader's POV starting at, "It was a face that had not seen itself in twenty years.")

I don’t think it’s a good idea. The fight is looooooooong, takes place over the entire 3rd book. And it’s not meant to be read all together, since the latter half is just the emperor being repeatedly beaten into unconsciousness or exhaustion again and again and again and again. If you put that all together without breaking it up (and losing the external events which affect it) it would become boring, lose its tension, and not really make sense. It’s very intertwined with events happening elsewhere.
Not to mention the characters who show up mid-fight for a critical reason.
@@BeggarsNight maybe just chapters 16 and 17 then if you don’t want all of it. It’s also a key fight for the entirety of 40k so while I agree it’s long I personally would like it

While an expert portrayal of the complete torture of solitude, and a top notch narration, this must have been a dreadfully boring novel to read... If I wasn't falling asleep to the narration I would have definitely not made it through the novel...

I dont like chaos, least favorite faction in lore. However this part is just perfect.
I normally see chaos as one note and lame outside of some warp entities being on the more unknowable side, however here Khorne feels like a genuine treat pulling at the weakness of a character mind slowly attempting to corrupt someone that is tired of all the conflict with the promise of the release from reason.
I wish more stories with the warp entities were like this, It makes Dorn feel like the unyielding wall of a man he is and Khorne like a real deceiver and a predator of hearts and minds that the warp should always be.

Sigh… like this excerpt I’ve always found Dorn to be extremely bland and boring. He’s white bread… nothing more.
He Should have said “ for the blood-god” then maybe he might finally be worth reading about… a chaos primarch who can build defenses like dorn can??? No wait , They already have One that can do that and atleast Perty has some personality and no boring af like dorn is. Sorry , I’m just upset I listened to this hour long story that was as predictable as every other story in which dorn is the main character. Voice work as always well done! Couldn’t be better.

From this video, sounds like his best wall didn't break for centuries.
It held on long enough for Guilliman to arrive with enough force to relieve them, had the universe itself not been collapsing. The throne room held against three times the number of legions, orbital bombardment, daemons he had never really experienced before, and resulted in the retreat, death, or banishment of 7 enemy primarchs before the Emperor had to leave the throne.
In terms of personal achievements, he fought the most enemy primarchs of any loyalist in the solar system.
Boring, sure, that’s the point. He does the job and does it right. Overrated? Have you *seen* his competition?

But end of the day he has holes and still is overrated, I hear to much about top 3 no different with Russ, both fundamentally has major holes. The diff between the both of them tho dorn doesn't have the plot favor like Russ and his drunk legion

@@mandke23 It was shown in a different book that Dorn could actually tell Omegon and Alpharius apart, from each other and from their legion. He killed Alpharius for real. Also, as far as I'm aware, he just fought those two, but he absolutely dominated them both. Fulgrim wasn't just screwing around, Dorn was actually beating him badly. Sigismund landed a few good hits as well. The only reason Fulgrim didn't die was because he can't. Fulgrim left the fight because he was sick of being hurt and he didn't care anymore.
