I know this is quite old, but I revist this track a lot in particular. It's very good, no doubt, but this song has very special meaning to me. Me and my Dad used to watch Kurzgesagt quite often. We were both so interested in science. I never grew up with my parents, because of choices they made in the past, and thats okay. They tried all my life to fix their lives, and always made sure that I knew it wasn't my fault. So, when me and my Dad would have court-ordered visits, we would turn on Kurzgesasgt(among other things) and watch videos for about 2 hours per week. We did this through thick and thin for years. When this video released, I was so excited to show it to him. It had released on the same day we had our visit, it was perfect. I loved the video, and came here to listen to this track while studying and doing homework. Later that night, I was told my Dad had passed away. 3 days before, but my guardians and my mom didn't know how to explain it to me. How I would never have another visit with him. How he was gone. There was no pain, no scary race to the hospital. He died in his room, praying, asking for strength. One of my family members walked in a couple minutes later, and he was gone. His heart stopped, and he was finally able to rest. So, after I was told the news, I was devastated, obviously. This October 3 will mark him being gone for 1 year. I know he's in a better place, he's finally able to rest. This track always reminds me of the life he lived, the somber parts at the beginning, but getting more triumphant towards the end. That was my Dad. He started off in a bad situation, but rose above, and made sure everyone in his life knew that he loved them. I love you, Dad. Thanks for always supporting my interests.
That's amazing. You and your dad seemed so connected and im sorry hes not around anymore. Hes at rest now, and he sounded like an amazing father. It amazes me how much Kurzegesagt is able to bring these emotions in people. Personally, as somebody who had every terrible and bad view of the world, Kurzegesagt has really helped me see that there can be good in anything. Kurzegesagt is amazing, idk what I would do without it. May it be around for many more years to come.

I love how this music sounds hopeful and quietly driven, while also feeling somewhat melancholy and regretful, it feels very fitting to the tone of humanity, there is much beauty in our cultures and how they evolve, and how we seem to press ever onward with curiosity and hope, but also a deep tragedy in our blindness to our actions and the senseless destruction and violence that tends to precede our times of growth, and how we often seem to barreling forward to a violent end. When I first heard this composition, I felt cheerful, continuing to do the usual everyday things. all of a sudden I felt sad, like when you are missing something or someone. Difficult to explain in words.
I often criticize humanity, and lose hope many times with current events and things people do, and sometimes criticize our innovations and ambition, ruining nature and endangering others... but then it's things like this soundtrack that reminds me of something: mankind, no matter how many mistakes it will still do, is a creature that will keep on living on. Mankind looked into the fire and saw the Promethean gift, a gift that will help them transcend beyond what any other creatures couldn't escape. We literally halted our own evolution, and actually evolved the way we want to. And perhaps human extinction might be a possibility, and some people believe we will... but I don't. We are such an adaptive creature, innovative, inventive, creative and with imagination. Disasters cannot stop us, whether it be a pandemic or a little ice age, mankind will press on and survive. Whether the Earth turns into another Venus or returns to a state of paradise, we will still be here. And no matter all the challenged we will face, deaths and sadness, we will always press on, because we don't want to die as a species, we can't anymore. We may not see those events, but mankind will see the continents move, the Sun bloat, the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies collide and the last stars shining through the cosmos. I have a strong belief that we will be there for all of these events, because we are in a way the Universe, gazing at itself. It's what makes us human, we were born here not to stay but to reach for the stars, go beyond our natural prison, and fly away like doves in the sky.
Very beautiful paragraph my guy :) made me teared up a bit especially that the song makes this paragraph more emotional. I'm also used to have misanthropic point of view of the world. But now, I've known both the beauty and the ugly of the human nature. And that's made me stop being misanthropic and optimistic about the future of humanity while still minding the ugly of the human nature but maybe in the future, all humans will finally achieve peace and explore the stars and beyond.
I had to exit the main video to come listen to this. It's like a mix of different Epic Mountain tunes with some new elements. Very soothing and beautiful. Love it

When you start giving science videos / documentaries (granted narrative driven ones) cinematic style motifs and themes, you know you have simply ridiculous amounts of talent and over the top love for what you do. I personally feel this is the best soundtrack for Kurzgesagt you have made yet with motifs and themes from many of your other best works culminating together into this masterpiece. This truly does take you on an emotional roller coaster and is spectacular to listen to!
The most delightful melody I've ever heard! Thank you, Epic Mountain Music. With your melodies and Kurzgesagt videos I start to see the world from much more beautiful perspective. You change the world to the better! I'm grateful for your work
On par with the Time remastered and imho one of those more serene tracks (like Loneliness, Dissatisfaction, The Egg, Fermi Paradox pt.1&2, Why we age...)
"Brilliant" doesn't do justice to how good this music is! I know you guys don't do piano tutorials anymore, but could you please make one just for this? Anyhow, I hope you never stop making such beautiful compositions!
I listen to this song a lot, it brings back memories, memories of when I was a little kid, memories of dreams, memories of spending time with family; these memories bring me to tears, while I cry I reflect on my life; there is something familiar about this song, it reminds me of slime rancher and roblox, but it reminds me of something else, and I don't know what it is bot it keeps me coming back to this, I really love this song
This song gives me the feeling that even though things might not be good right now and even though you will loose people and watch people suffer things will always get better
Oh great now i have a new favorite soundtrack. This is almost like being hereditary, every time epic Mountain release a soundtrack video the most recent one succeed (which is this soundtrack in this case) to my favorite cant stop listening😁😁😁
While I don’t like humans... This song is beautiful. The piano is heavenly, slow, and gives a sense of pride and hope, alongside some bitter sweetness. I also love the reprise to Time that was put in this song through out. Time Remastered is my all-time favorite from you guys, and this song almost feels like a compliment to Time. Instead of focusing on the past, present, and future of the Earth and the universe, this track specifically focuses on human past, present, and future. It’s truly stunning and I absolutely love this track. You guys never fail to impress with your tracks beautifully and perfectly representing scientific ideas and concepts. You guys have the most well composed instrumental songs that I have ever heard. I love you guys and please just keep being the great composers that you are.
@@Coralysis2390 Dolphins are fairly close to humans intelligence-wise. They're social creatures with a complex system of language that involves syntax (word order), and observations suggest they have complex emotions and personalities. They work with other dolphins in sophisticated manners to catch prey, such as creating mud rings in a group around fish in low waters to trap them and more easily catch them. They're one of the few animals known to kill for fun, which is defined as killing not for food or in defense of your life, but killing just to kill. They also have the ability to suicide, which requires rather high cognitive thought and a semblance of consciousness, as it is going against the one thing programmed into all living creatures: to live. Dolphins in captivity have been observed holding their breaths underwater and killing themselves in this manner. What I'm trying to say us, we're not the only intelligent form of life on this planet. While I can not say for sure, do you think dolphins might be capable of complex society like us based off this information? They're social creatures with a sophisticated system of language and high cognitive thought... like us. On top of that, I think it's perfectly reasonable to not like humans for their influence. Humans have caused irreversible damage to the one planet they currently call home. They have caused thousands of species to go extinct and have gotten rid of many natural formations due to their influence. On top of that, humans as a species aren't even kind to *themselves.* The majority of the world's population does not live in a free country. People in these countries have their voices silenced, they're threatened jail time or death or imprisonment in camps if they don't comply. Most people in these countries are either starving or otherwise struggling due to the oppression of their governments. Through out history humans have also oppressed other groups of humans - and to this day continue to, although it is more severe in countries like China where said groups have governmental repercussions simply for being born what they were. Tell me, how is it idiotic to not like an animal who not only causes suffering to the one planet they currently live on, but also causes suffering to their own species? It's animalistic to be greedy, but I believe humans have too much influence due to their intelligence and unnaturally high population numbers and take their greed too far. Please tell me something about our species that there is to like, because genuinely, I'm struggling to find anything positive about us as a species. I am not trying to seem pretentious. I am legitimately wanting to find something to like about our species so that I can stop hating what I was born as, even if only a little. Note: I do not hate individual people. I understand that individually most people are good and do not mean harm. I am only looking at humans as a species, as a collective.
Hi, you can buy our music on bandcamp. But also saving our tracks in playlists and downloading them on streaming platforms helps a lot ;-) THANK YOUUUU!
gosh... I've seen the video on Kurzgesagt yesterday and today too, but once I've listened to the music alone I... I'm not sure. It sounds kind of sad, but mostly happy... It sounds so... nostalgic... even though it's a new song it still sounds like so. Then it somehow started to resemble themes simmilar to these, when a character is about to die, his whole life flashes by and then it looks like the memories/friendship/the ghost of their loved one somehow saves them. For best instance SFM "Legacy", 2017 Saxxy award winner. Then it kind of made me think about my grandpa in such scenario with this in the background and... i just stood on the verge of tears... And then 8:14 came and i was far beyound the verge of tears. Simply beautiful. Ps. each time i hear ''Time'' I just go like that guy before TV pointing his finger at the screen meme lol. Probably not only me.
Have mercy if my english is a bit weird to read but I'll give it a try. There are moments in life where you regret that you didn't believe in yourself at all and someone else did instead. When I heard the melody people are calling the "Time Leitmotif" it was like a punch in the stomach for me. This is an awesome melody for sure but the bitter taste for me is... Somewhere like 10 years ago, I wrote a small piece of music by myself and it included exactly the same melody like the one you just wrote here... the underlining chords where a bit different, the last part of the music resolved in a minor chord but besides that, same melody, almost the same speed (120 bpm) and in the key of E minor. I was not satisfied with the song and I thought I'm bad at writing music and just threw the song away. Somewhere deep into a trash folder where it still exists to this very day. Not sure what I try to express with this comment, I'm not envious or mad. I'm not thinking like "Wow, it could have been me who gets a lot of credit" or something like that. It just has a bitter taste to it for not believing in myself and just throw everything away my musical ideas because I think they are not good enough or I fear that people won't like it... if that makes sense. Anyway, I'm glad to hear that your music is so enjoyable for the people out there, guess, that is the sweet part of it.
The teacher lets me play this in the background the entire meet class lol

We may not see those events, but mankind will see the continents move, the Sun bloat, the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies collide and the last stars shining through the cosmos. I have a strong belief that we will be there for all of these events, because we are in a way the Universe, gazing at itself. It's what makes us human, we were born here not to stay but to reach for the stars, go beyond our natural prison, and fly away like doves in the sky.
good words boi c:
Your sharing is utterly thoughtful, I can relate. As I criticize humanity, I criticize myself
God. I love the use of leitmotifs you do. Sometimes I can tell what the video was talking about just by listening to the ost
I had to exit the main video to come listen to this.
It's like a mix of different Epic Mountain tunes with some new elements.
Very soothing and beautiful. Love it
Damn i cried,
Too beautiful ♥♥♥
Every time i listen this music I drop a tear down... it let me take the measure for appreciate each moments of my life and the growing of my children, thanks for this beautiful music !
Remember lads , in the end all that matters is the Experience (◡ ‿ ◡)
When you start giving science videos / documentaries (granted narrative driven ones) cinematic style motifs and themes, you know you have simply ridiculous amounts of talent and over the top love for what you do. I personally feel this is the best soundtrack for Kurzgesagt you have made yet with motifs and themes from many of your other best works culminating together into this masterpiece. This truly does take you on an emotional roller coaster and is spectacular to listen to!
The piano from 6:46 is beautifully melancholic. Gives me chills
It’s not melancholic, it’s just too emotional
The most delightful melody I've ever heard! Thank you,
Epic Mountain Music.
Every song, man. I swear, every song Epic Mountain Music puts out is an absolute banger. Every song is dripping with perfection and inspiration.
Gotta say this song hits different than the other ones
I love how you intertwined the motif here
1:45 is the part you're looking for
Something i absolutely love about this is how it sounds like the history of the universe soundtrack and it feels nostalgic to listen to
You do it every time much love from germany!
Viel Liebe zurück
This simply a treasure .
Moves me to tears every time, absolutely beautiful.
"Brilliant" doesn't do justice to how good this music is! I know you guys don't do piano tutorials anymore, but could you please make one just for this?
Anyhow, I hope you never stop making such beautiful compositions!
This is amazing, it makes your every day more meaningful and precious.
Das ist sehr gut !!! Ich liebe dein Musik !!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

To those english speakers out there, here's the translation:
That is so good! I love your music!
This song deserves to be regarded as one of the greatest pieces of art in human history
Indeed
I completely agree
This song gives me the feeling that even though things might not be good right now and even though you will loose people and watch people suffer things will always get better
You are not the only one who Listen it during studing
Every time I listen to this, I think about our ancestors and their children evolving that resulted in us today
Yes, but I’m a disgrace to them and everyone wants me to vanish
My god this is simply beautiful, never fails to bring a tear to my eyes.
My Motto: "Doing right by each other", with right things for the right reasons. That's all there's to it, difficult as it may be. Thank you.
No sé por qué esta canción me hizo llorar, mi favorita hasta ahora :)
And you have found the end credits to humanity
Oh great now i have a new favorite soundtrack. This is almost like being hereditary, every time epic Mountain release a soundtrack video the most recent one succeed (which is this soundtrack in this case) to my favorite cant stop listening😁😁😁
Love or hate kurgesagt.
The team knows what good background music is :D
Why would anyone hate them
@@dish7877 dont ask
itll just make you mad
because there argumnets are so easy to tear into shreds
itll make you lose more hope in humanity
The two dislikes are from other species that died off or were killed by us, humans..
just small genocides, nothing weird, just genocide or maybe mass murder. we do that all the time
especially in schools for some reason

Is there a way to support you guys? Or is buying Kurzgesagt merch at least indirectly supporting you guys?
Hi, you can buy our music on bandcamp. But also saving our tracks in playlists and downloading them on streaming platforms helps a lot ;-) THANK YOUUUU!
Sentimental touch 💖😭😍👍🏼
you are the first comment on this master piece congrats!!!!!!! :P
1:47 is indescribably powerful
I love the harmonics! ❤
Probably not only me.
good and peaceful soundtrack
WHO WOULD DISLIKE THIS PIECE OF ART!?
I’m adding this to my playlist. ❤️
this is art, through generation to generation. your the best mate. this tune makes my life better great job epic
There is still a lot of time for your eventual breakthrough. This just confirms you have the capability. Best wishes
Your soundtracks inspire me. I listen to them every day :)
I may have been dead for a few centuries, but I had to come back to listen to this.
Well, you’re a part of The Human Era too
I love this. even better than time remastered. you never fail to make a fire soundtrack. amazing music+amazing animations=epic
Ce que j'aime c'est me perdre dans l'ambiance de ces sons. Tu es un fantastique compositeur.
