    Basic rule of thumb is if an animal can get their head through a hole, they can squeeze the rest of the way in too, especially mice and rats.

    Your suggestions have now convinced me about the importance of physical barriers against my animal friend visitors in my garden ... THANKS ... :) :) :)

    SO GLAD I found your video. Seriously thank you. On year three of gardening and this year I’m taking it to a whole new level, especially when it comes to these pests. I’m definitely going to be using the 1/4” hardware cloth you suggested (building a PVC pipe structure and zipping this hardware cloth on all sides) as nothing else has worked. Hoping I can even make a door. I would not have known about the hardware cloth if it wasn’t for stumbling on YOUR video (after lots of research too). So again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! 🙏🏼

    I know they're detrimental to a garden but, squirrels and bunnies are so cute. 😁🐿🐇 I'm moving from Illinois to Florida in June . Watching these videos inspired me to take up gardening as a hobby and look forward to gardening tips on upcoming videos.

    Some great ideas Sarah to keep the pests out. One of the problems we have in Australia is possums and bats they eat our peach tree and nectarine tree very annoying. But we do what we can to protect our fruit and vegetables. I do like your setup it looks great. I see Rooney was only interested in one thing a green ball. Sorry for running behind feedbacks thank you for all your reply’s Sarah.
    Thanks for sharing.

    I have a Question for You,
    When Plants Grow, How do they ' Gain ' their Mass?!
    1. From the Atmosphere.
    2. From the Soil.
    3. Both of them.
    4. None of the Above.
    If possible, Please Explain Your Answer!!

    • @HollywoodVines
      @HollywoodVines  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have my reply, but I want to hear yours!

    • @TriptoPal
      @TriptoPal 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HollywoodVines
      Actually the third option is correct, but majority of the mass comes from the ' Atmosphere '.
      Explanation:
      Plants get water from the ground and absorb Carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Then in the Presence of Sunlight these two compounds react.
      Because of this reaction we get another Compound.
      This third compound is the main Reason of their mass.
      Trees get Sodium, Potassium and few other elements from the Soil,
      But most of the mass comes from the Atmosphere.
      Veritasium has made an awesome video about this topic.

    I never use netting, once you witness a small animal tangled, choking from trying to get out is both traumatic for the critter and terrible to witness. Hardware cloth is best. Still lets your polinators in. Netting isn't humane as far as i feel.

    Hi Sarah, very inspiring as usual. I wish I had a proper backyard like you do. However, my plants are very limited around my apartment and the building it's located in. I'd just like to add that you're truly an amazingly positive, upbeat and greatly leading lady when it comes to helpful ideas for the rest of us generally. Can you please reply asap and also let me know when you're next film will be out? I messaged you on instagram to find out if you might be promoting it out in Australia, would be great to meet up one of these years, lol lol, might be a few due to the massive "no thanks to Trump" travel restrictions from America too, well, ha ha, the rest of the world, no bother if you're not able to provide a time frame, just be safe and healthy and keep up the most awesome work. Cheers, and if I ever save up enough money I will build a miniature version of your most super cool, "geeky" garden girl type garden inside my apartment and get an enclosure to stop my co tenant's cat from ripping the branches down, be well as always, Chris.

    How often do squirrels attack the plants? They are so cute! I wish we have them here in the city area 😂😂😂

    • @HollywoodVines
      @HollywoodVines  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh gosh... 🤦🏽‍♀️ I suppose if you aren’t used to them they could be cute. I used to see people photographing squirrels in Central Park on my walk to work when I lived in NYC, and I could never understand it. They are EVERYWHERE in the US, and the first time you see one carrying away your prized heirloom tomato, you may change your opinion of them quick!

      Have you ever seen the squirrels invaded the garden they picked the fruit and bites it just bites do not eat put it away then pick another one do the same thing until no fruit left on the trees that is why we do not welcome them.
