Great work! There was a time if I saw a helmet in such a condition I would have just said 'forget it', kept the brass piece from the front, and tossed the helmet. After seeing this video, I'll think twice before tossing something like that. :) I used to have 8 helmets in my collection, but since given them away. I had 3 black felt helmets with black felt visors and 2 white ones just like them with brass plated skull and cross bones on the fronts and a brass spike on top of all of them. It had a red velvet shield with silver/lead threaded boarder and embroidered sliver/lead lily in the center. It had a silver plum holder for plums. Last I had a rare Grand Chancellor's helmet in my custody, which I had charge of donating to our local museum. It was also Knights of Pythias and the Grand chancellor was head of the Grand Lodge over all of the local lodges in our state. The helmet was black felt in the same shape as a British Bobby helmet. On the front it hat a metal shield that was in the design designated for the Grand Lodge officers. It originally would have had a cord that was long lost, going around the front where the brim meets the body. The top was unique in that it had a solid board the raised up about an inch starting from the top front and going to the back brim, tapering as it went along the back of the helmet. This was to hold a plume that would have sat on it billowing in the front and sweeping to the back brim of the helmet. These were wonderful helmets and I enjoyed having them, but lack of space made it necessary to get rid of them. Other than the one I donated due to it originally belonging to a former judge in my city from the 1880's, the other helmets I gave away to friends who I knew would enjoy them.

@@omnivorouscarbon4234 a) I'm not talking about the color or the song. I'm talking about actual restoration. The procedures used we're far too invasive (sanding without mercy, dipping the entire thing in a bucket without knowing how it would react to that specific substance, the paint, and a thousand more things). Very nice restoration! The difference between the before and the after is astonishing! Would love to see the helmet with its' crest and straps, but I like your collection. Your videos are well done, and fascinating to watch! Keep up the good work!
Nice resto. A couple tips: never spray WD40 on something you intend to paint, it doesn't come off easily, especially on a porous surface, and it will impair adhesion. After rust remover, I'd go straight to the wire brush, then degrease, then rust converter, then metal repair, then bondo, then primer, then paint.
It was strange to see the "rozsdaátalakító" text on the bottle at 4:25. Almost as if the product was made for French and Hungarian markets. Weird, right?

thank you so much 😊
Bro took the advice and dipped😂✌
He lives in France so idk if it would make a whole lot of sense if he didn't understand French. A lot of things he restores are French as well.
p sure he’s french...
I thought I recalled he was from Switzerland and some people from Switzerland don't speak French.
French „“adrian“ helmets from that time period were not painted green- they would have been painted blue
Nah, this one is from the military academy, meaning it would be olive drab.
The ignorance. Not ALL French helmets were blue. Many private and public French military high schools and academies painted their helmets green, gold, silver, grey, or black.
Very nice to see you preserve this old helmet
LOL.... igualmente buen trabajo.
Ecole speciale militaire is french. No excusing the US national anthem though
The poem was set to the tune of a popular British song written by John Stafford Smith for the Anacreontic Society, a men's social club in London. "To Anacreon in Heaven" (or "The Anacreontic Song"), with various lyrics, was already popular in the United States. Set to Key's poem and renamed "The Star-Spangled Banner", it soon became a well-known U.S. patriotic song.
Booooo I was looking forward to the french national anthem :-P Joking aside as usual you have done a fantastic job mon ami. Fantastique!!! France que le monde admire!!
I love how he played USA's national anthem when its a french helmet...
Great job on the helmet, the brass shine outstanding. One thing though - that polishing wheel - please center it on spindle. Thought it was gonna grab the piece and smack ya while it was spinning.
One more great restoration! Well done my friend! I didn't like that green colour when you were painting. It seemed too extravagant in my opinion. But once it dried I liked it.
Having the audacity to call that a restoration
Tres Vecestres Having the audacity to call him out on that is even worse, yes he may used the wrong color and really screwed upt th song but that is it. Plus, could you do that.
That type of intervention cannot be called restoration because it creates confusion around and against actual restores who have studied and work protecting the heritage.
2) Yes, I can do it, I'm studying restoration
@@omnivorouscarbon4234 if you want to see what I'm talking about the Victoria and Albert Museum or the MET TH-cam channel have some really good videos of the process of restoration of some of the pieces
Edit: the videos are labeled under the general concept of conservation
I really like watching your videos. It is so neat to see you take things that are rusted and turning it into something new
thank you so much 😊
@@TysyTube your welcome
That WD40 smell... Mmmmmm
very good 😍😏
Beautiful job. Congratulations on another fantastic restoration. Love the music!

Did you know that helmets were as a helmet-like device?
I have a WWII German Luftschutz "Gladiator" helmet that was a bring back from my Great Uncle. It was repainted in the 70's but the markings are still original and it's only issue is the leather is hard.

Keep up the good work.
Awesome restore man!! Looks impeccable. Keep up the good work, love this channel!
thank you so much 😊
AWESOME!! Terrific job - from the middle of California!
very very professional job !!! greetings from Serbia !
thank you so much 😊
Very nice restoration!
Another beautiful restoration ;>) Loved how you've got this down to a regular system!
Very nicely done, great work! 👍🏻👍🏻
Lovely piece of history I like your collection.
thank you so much 😊
Been tooning up your vids lately ! Awsome work man, best of luck :D
thank you so much 😊
Best looking restoration yet!
Dude this was pitted to hell you did such a great job restoring it!!!
WOW.
Once again, an amazing transformation! 😁😎👍👏👏👏
thank you so much 😊
It was strange to see the "rozsdaátalakító" text on the bottle at 4:25. Almost as if the product was made for French and Hungarian markets. Weird, right?
Yes, I've also never seen a product with hungarian words in it in these type of videos ( I watching several youtube channels for restoration)
It was very strange to see... "Rozsdaátalakító" 😁 And it works.
Music stops at 0:37
Stunning result. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this.
thank you so much 😊

Nice work! You gave me some much needed information for some projects I'm working on.
Bravo ! well done Tysy
As usual, very satisfying to watch! Super boulot!
thank you so much
I am very happy that you continued to play the National Anthem. I am a future Marine and this is awesome. Many other people would've stopped it. Good Job and the helment looks great.
Nice job, loved the cool intro and the Star Spangle Banner at the tail end. Thanks for sharing!!
Amazing job, like always! Greetings from Brazil! 🇧🇷😊
