Use filler like tin foil or foam to take up space at the center of the mold. The parts are much lighter and you save that extra expense! It’s a grey bluish tint for sure! See on a screen car,especially a stunt car they use any hew as long as it’s the same color because depending on the scene they can manipulate the detail in post and adjust color during color correction. I think your slate blue is a good choice,especially if it’s just a few coats over grey prime. Pre production cars don’t use colors on parts that are meant to be used for the screen cars. You always go screen used,which ever matches the film after color correction! I know you prob know all this but i though i’d let you know i agree with what you chose!

You said you wanted to move the headlights switch to somewhere else, so why not put it on the upper console? You could even have a garage door opener up there, for lots of garage doors
