I can't believe there is a hobby out there so specific as airbrushing model horses. So unique and wholesome, love it.
Give some of Vallejo’s thinner (say 30% thinner to paint) and a drop of Vallejo flow aid and you should get the control you want with your models and that last colour you tested. While they are designed to work out of the bottle, they certainly can be thinned more when you want fine control and want to spray with low air pressure. I do that all the time. The flow aid will help with dry tip, which is a problem with these paints. I would also highly recommend Mission Model paints to you. If you use their thinners and polyurethane additive they are by far the easiest and most controllable acrylic based paint I’ve used. Anyway thanks for the video review and it was great to see the lovely work you do with the horses. :) Dan
I found your channel because I use a lot of the same equipment as you, but I paint model tanks and airplanes. Now I've spent at least a couple of hours watching Breyer videos even though I'd literally never heard of them before. 10/10 subscribed
that's how it starts 😂😉
Wonderful sense of humor :D
Wow, those customs are so pretty!!!
Your customs are so beautiful!
Thanks for the review you helped me make the decision to buy them.
I think I am going to try it ❤
You really MUST get a spray booth, your breathing the spray in and it is going all about you, it may be water based but atomized it wont do your lungs and eyes a lot of good. Lovely video
Please start doing Traditionals and I'll surely buy. 😁♥🌹
Vallejo flow aid is a must. .5 needle and 25psi helps a LOT. A few drops with Model Air and at least 50/50 with Model Color works well.
Awezome works. Care to share the colours you used for the golden brown and dark brown horse? I would really like to start painting and you gave so much inspiration :)
You can very easy airbrush vallejo air if you thin them 3 parts paint / 1 part thinner(Thinner : 2 part thinner / 1 part flow improver) at around 20-25psi.For model color 4 parts color / 6 parts thinner mix at 20-25psi.
Hi! First! ❤️
How do you seal shimmery paint without losing the shimmer? I tried putting pastels for dapples on top, but after sealing, the gold shimmer is gone.
May I ask, what kind of nozzle/needle are you using ? Heard that these paints go well with 0,4 or 0,5 but lower tends to clog.
I have a question where do you get your horse from for model horse
Hello! Just got a question. Did you need to think the Vallejo air color?
I. Love horse 🏇🏇🐴🐴🐎🐎🎠🎠
I paint murder robots (Gundams), murder miniatures (Warhammer 40k) and modern murder machines (military vehicles and planes) and yet YT recommends this to me! xD Not complaining though, I might even dabble a bit in this.
Btw, Horses are my favorite animals!
Where do you get models? I’m guessing they are mostly Breyer?.. where would you suggest getting models to paint?
Did you apply any primer before applying these Vallejo paints? I would like to try some Vallejo paints however I have usually used Mr. Hobby and I do like the way they lay down smoothly with some of their thinner. Thanks.
I always use primer yes!
Which airbrush gun use? I have 0.3 mm but it isn't good.
I use an Iwata Eclipse, which has a 0.35mm Needle.

Dang I’m broke so I couldn’t get this brand..however I did find the “Badger” brand anyone know anything about this brand? I wanna know before I purchase it.
I don't know anything about Badger products, sorry
What paint did you use before this?
I used Golden High Flow acrylic in my airbrush. They still have their place, I just find them a different consistency.
Where do you buy you horses at
modelhorsesalespages.com, eBay, Facebook and whatever stores I can find them in :)
If the metallic paint was to thick ??? I juat bearly move my needle back not even buy a hair and do a few test lines and a hard blast then work it on what ever am painting
The paint was working much different than regular acrylic.
@@DeeJayBeStudios Yes, because it contains finely grinded metal flakes (aluminium I think). One solution is to use a slightly larger end nozzle, another is to use flow improver or special acrylic thinner to make it flow easier.
That said, I try to avoid airbrushing metals as far as I can, because of those issues.
never thin these acrylics with water. Always use a proper thinner product... water will make it thinner, but it does not fully dissolve the paint granules, and can cause problems
