Nice rig. I was worried the horizon was going to be off a few degrees because of the increased weight to the operator’s side of the camera. Luckily it looks like you have a technique to countering that weight. How does it feel ergonomics wise?
Sorry for late reply! Thanks dude 🙌🏼,as you can see,my personal rig was compact and riggid!!for me honestly this was my perfect set up so far compared to my previous set up (MRC1 + VX1000)
Yo what kind of camera bag is that at the end? Also deciding between the MRC1 and DR60. Not sure which one to get. You have any experience using the MRC1? Thanks for making this video! Very helpful!
This was local made camera bag. Yea i had experience using MRC1,but tbh DR60 more simple and compact than MRC1,also they had 60gig on DR60 so,i would rather choose dr than mrc, thanks anyway
I was advised on a video forum that instead of using the outdated and expensive SONY HVR-MRC1, I could opt for a more cost-effective solution. The suggestion is to use an S-Video to HDMI converter along with devices like an Atomos Ninja or BMD Video Assist to record the incoming video stream. I am curious if anyone has experience with this setup or has any input on its effectiveness. Thank you.
It's definitely going to get you a far poorer end result. These Sony HVR devices capture the same DV stream that would usually be recorded to the tape, so the quality is exactly what you'd get from a tape, and it remains digital the entire way through. Going S-Video -> HDMI means your digital signal gets converted to analog, then back to digital, which introduces quality loss.
Seeing your camera almost makes me want to have an exhibition with customized VX1000s
Go get that legendary skate cams
That would be so cool
yoo thanks for the vid been waiting for someone to do this
Thanks a lot and hopefully this help you

Hello! I recently bought a dr-60 for my vx2000 but the picture quality isn’t nearly as crisp as yours :( How does your footage look so clean??
You can always Scale the footage using ffmpeg? i just got 2 x HVR-DR60 but did not test them yet.
In DR-60 setting, make sure raw file type setting is in RAW DV,and you can adjust the rest of the quality in adobe premeire pro.
If you want crisp better to set it on AVI, therefore it will not crop(do weird things with the export aspectratio). Atleast from my experience.
@@marksy99 yups this setting is work well too
@@marksy99yoooo this was definitely it thank you so much man!!
Hey, I'm about to go tapeless but was wondering if having the hvr-dr60 bypasses the auto shutoff during standby mode.
Mmmm that’s pretty rare
Hey there, do you know if the Sony HVR-DR60 works on the Sony TRV-900? Thanks :)
pretty sure it works if it has a firewire port
thanks for the assist, yeah as long the camera has firewire port, you can use DR60.
Do you know if this recorder works with other firewire cameras, or is it only for Sony branded ones?
As long as the cemara has Firewire port, this device can work properly for other brand such as Panasonic, canon or etc.
