    Nice deck and very informative, but the way you installed the decking tightly under the top rail leaves no room for the winter cover and cable which needs to wrap around the top rail and cinch tight underneath.

    I understand "code" mandates gap between deck and pool edge, BUT what about space needed to get winter cover over top and down side of pool ? Pools in north are actually covered more then half the year.

    I would have installed picture frame! Went all out with skirting. Looks great though! Nice job!

    This is great. I will be using this to build the deck for a new pool. I do have a question though up here in the north, we cover our pools with a winter cover. The covers need to have a slight gap between the deck and the pool to slide the cover down and then use a ratchet to make it tight.it doesn’t look like you have such a gap. Any suggestions?

    Nice deck , very good work but it must have cost a small fortune . What was the final price tag ?

      Would depend. Using #1 southern pine. Or # 2 pine like from Menards. # 3 concrete piers in a cardboard Sonen tube or #4 Diamond piers at
      $144.00 a piece. Wood would be $6000.00 to $11000. Including hardware. Diamond, or Handi piers anoit $144.00 per unit. Just put a deck in for a.43x23 pool. 8foot all the way around for one.

    Great looking Deck but what was the cost of the Materials to build the entire deck? Looks Expensive!!

    • @TheTrexCo
      @TheTrexCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cost of a Trex deck typically runs from $9 to $16 per square foot. Of course, that depends on where you're buying it, and how much you’re purchasing. Pressure-treated lumber prices will vary depending on your local market. Please reach out to a Trex dealer in your area for pricing information. You can also give us a call at 800.289.8739 if you have additional questions. Happy building! - Trex Customer Care Team

    Instructions are missing how to measure and find the angle between the posts for the beams. And or joists

    • @TheTrexCo
      @TheTrexCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Alisha.
      Using a speed square, on the corner of the post, find the angle and divide by two to get the angle for each member at that intersection (if unfamiliar with the many uses of a speed square there are some great videos on the subject on TH-cam). Another method is to set the beams on top of the post and scribe/transfer the inside and outside edges of the beam onto the post. Place a block of wood over the intersection of the beams so that it’s square with the back of the post and mark the beam on both sides of the block. That’s your angle to cut the beam ends. Once you’ve cut the beams, set them back onto the post and trace the beams in your desired location. This will be where you’ll notch the post.

    How far from the pool the post can be? Because the electrician wired around the pool i don’t want to mess it up

      @TheTrexCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for reaching out to us. Different municipalities have different regulations regarding electrical wiring and lighting around pools and spas. The allowable distances may be both vertically and horizontally, depending upon the municipality. You would need to consult with your municipality in building department for the regulations in their area. We are unable to assist beyond referring you to your municipality. If you have further questions please let us know and will will help if we are able. Trex Customer Care 1-800-289-8739

    How did you attach the pool ladder to the deck? Up North, we need to remove and replace the ladder every year.

    • @TheTrexCo
      @TheTrexCo  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Joe and Kelley! We do not have any specific recommendations for attaching a pool ladder to Trex decking. We always recommend using an approved composite deck screw with Trex but we cannot guarantee that those screws would properly hold the ladder in place.

    I saw similar install , beautiful, 10 months later, not so much. All screws showed a nipple effect as the tree had bubbled up around it, it was a very expensive deplorable result… so I will pass on this

      Yeah, that is a bit out there, I am in progress of a $2k deck for a $488 Walmart special 18' pool. I can't afford all the bells this video shows such as the sides, the beautiful hand rails and deck post covers but the trex flooring is a must have feature to keep the feet safe from regular wood decking wear and weather breakdowns.

    How was the 6x6 cut on a 12° angle

    • @TheTrexCo
      @TheTrexCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Angel! The post was cut so that the beam coming into the post was at a 12 degree angle to the other post. The beam material was set on top of the posts and marked to determine where the post needed to be cut. This ended up being a 12 degree angle in this instance. A circular saw was then used and set at an angle, cut down the line. Then the cut was finished with a jig saw as the circular saw did not cut deep enough. The angle cut was repeated on the other side of the post so that the two beams met in the middle of the post. - Trex Customer Care
