Doc, I had a realization. While Grian has made the permit office as hard to deal with as possible, it's possible you may want to deal with it to get a permit that I'm fairly certain wasn't created. You happen to be uniquely situated to run the *diamond shop!* And since you can set your own price, you could sell them for whatever you happen to want. People wouldn't be selling you things they don't have permits for, you would be selling them diamonds or diamond ores for those things. And if you don't have any specific thing you want at that time, you can always sell them for sand.
Wow... everyone knows Doc as the technical minecraft guy but every once in awhile he makes one of THE most beautiful builds that has ever been on Hermitcraft. If there was a hall of fame for Hermitcraft the hourglass would definitely be up there, it's a megabase of pettiness and I love it

Yes! I commented last episode of last season that I hoped Doc would keep the intro music. But instead Goatsauce made it even better! Love it. No better way to head into the weekend than the Docm77 soundtrack
The sign only being on one side of the 4 definitely invites the usual suspects to add another sign called "& Salmon“ which is conveniently the same length as "Big Wood".. you love to see it
Scar currently has the permit to sell sand, but I was thinking: What if Joe, or one of the other 50/50 partners had the permit? They'd earn sand from the wood shop and turn around and sell it for diamonds. People wanting to buy wood would first have to buy sand. Easiest shop ever. Since Scar doesn't want the permit, Joe & Mumbo should be trying to get it.
Watching doc I’m for some reason reminded of the tale of mansa musa, a man so wealthy that when he went on his pilgrimage to Mecca he caused so much inflation due to his lavish spending of gold that it impacted the entire Mediterranean. I’m thinking when the tunnel bore arrives at the shopping district doc should Do a similar stunt.
I loved the Big Wood interior vibe, especially the details and the care put into every corner. From the ax on the log at the entrance to the pots with mushrooms next to the nether woods and so on... amazing job doc!
Doc: I will make everyone buy things for sand so I oont have to shovel the sand Also Doc: *Places the sand in hourglass which he will have to shovel later* ... (I know Doc's ultimate aim is to make everyone realise the pain of sand shoveling but I also have a point I feel xD)

Wow Ensiferum is nice old classic band! Not surprised Doc listens to them after the season 8 music clips that had a lot of metal bands from Finland and europe in general. Doc, Insomnium and Eluveitie might be similar enough to go with ensiferum :) in case you haven't checked them out already. Thanks for another great video!
You HAVE to get that band together! I've been binging Soulside Eclipse (Xisuma's Spotify) lately, and can confirm, would go hard with Impulse's drumming, your words, and some other hermits musical talents! At least for one song!

FYI, a tunnel bore in the nether for netherite mining works very well, though you really need to "cheat" and use freecam to build it in the right spot to get a good run before having to take it down and rebuild it (often just going another direction). Just make sure to build it lower than you'd normally want, so it goes below normal lava lakes. Probably don't want more than about a dozen modules wide.
The Big Wood shop looks amazing! I love the aesthetic, and all of the details that you added. Definitely agree with keeping the skylight open as long as possible, since that view is epic!
I watch the other hermits for various reasons: cool builds, fun pranks, ingenious tech, funny interactions, extended waffles, and Super Fast Build Mode. Doc does some of those things, as each hermit does some combination. But I watch Doc for the same reason I watch Star Trek and play Zelda: the Hive Mind shows what humans can do at their best. This is a block-based sandbox. And yet Doc has found ways to break time and space, create worlds, carve and order the world he's in, grant impossible power to himself and others, make every useful or necessary inconvenience convenient, control dangerous animals, make art larger than life, and enjoy it all without getting bored. (Tired, petty, slightly insane, frustrated? Sure. Bored? If so, he hasn't lost to it.) To quote Grian: "This is Doc's world. The rest of us just live in it."
I love your episodes!! I made a screenshot of your mobswitch for my friends, they found it hilarious. Just one thing: I saw that you use string for the vines to not grow any further, just right-click them with shears and they will stop growing. You can't know everything and I'm just glad to help, since I learn so much from you. Keep Grinding, Optimizing, Automating and Thriving (Together ;) ).
Gonna comment some of the music I listen to because I have the memory of a goldfish and I will forget otherwise. The least well known artist I listen to but would very much recommend you give a try is Burn the Ladder. They have a song called Speak of Water which I really love. Thanks to all the amazing animators in this community I am not unable to listen to a song without thinking about how an animation for that song would go along with a specific MCYT series. But Burn the Ladder has a few like The Day that you Crossed Me and Make Them Pay that really conjure a story in my mind.
Moin moin Doc! That wood shop looks amazing. Cozy, functional, detailed, with good realtions with Big Salmon... Too wholesome for Doc, next episode he's definitely going to break the game to start a war or something like that.
Do you think that maybe the warden transportation system would run a little more smoothly if you replaced the glass they walk on with wool? That way the wardens won't trigger each other.
you know what would be funny... if you added a little packing station where buyers can place their bought wood in free shulker boxes. as you can see, this doesn't affect the shulker box profits at all. the buyers will just be happier with transporting their wood.
Not really a "band" per se, but I listen to TheFatRat and MiracleOfSound (Gavin Dunne) a lot lately. One of Gavin's relatively recent songs called "Skal" quickly became a favourite of mine. It's also Viking metal, that you've mentioned too. By the way, that moving mobswitch on your tunnelbore is amazing! As for automating the refilling of logs, how about buying 2 mailboxes, 1 where the farms are, and 1 under the shop, and slightly altering the redstone to automate sending the products over? (Also, somewhat altering the redstone in the nether, to still send the target markers through, so you won't have to buy new ones for anautomated function.
DOC! The wood shop is GORGEOUS! I LOVE that design of everything all circled and displayed in their natural environments like that. I might use this as inspiration for my own shops!
My idea for an inventory improvement would be an enchantment for shulker boxes that would allow you to access their contents while the shulker box is in your inventory. It could be called "Deep Pockets" or something like that.
One of the bands that can really get my motivation up is Unlucky Morpheus, a Japanese Symphonic Power Metal band. The singer has some serious Opera-level chops and the songs can really get some intense energy! Some of my favorite songs of theirs are Black Pentagram, Knight of Sword, and Angreifer
05:00 Two things. 1) You're too high to get the best diamond ore rates. 2) Dude, just throw a bucket of water down there before you have to build out a new suit of armor.
Hey Doc! Big Wood Looks Great! I think it could use an auto crafter service area. (Maybe around the Back?) Where after making a purchase the hermit can go and choose what they'd like their fresh lumber to be crafted into. Just put however many blocks you want crafted into one chest and get the result from another.
Doc, fantastic episode. I watched Iskall's and Beef's videos and had an idea for you. Since Iskall got "Complimentary" shulkers with oak wood, talk to Joe and see if he would be okay with you coloring shulkers brown four a sale of oakwood. Especially since there is the mail system and shulkers have to be used for delivery. If someone is buying oak, It comes in its own packaging. That's key. You could up the price of the oak to cover the cost of it or is complimentary depending on the amount people are buying of oak. You wouldn't be selling them, because it's all wrapped up in beautiful packaging. You can't be blamed for this packaging because it comes wit comes with the material and is free. It just means more sand for you and Joe. I thought this was a fun idea and I wanted to share it. I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Like the sands through a hour glass, so are the days of Hermits' lives. (Yes, I am that old. If you know where that saying comes from. )
I’ve known for “Days”!
Cup of coffee, Metal music, and Mad Scientist in his swamp
That harringbone floor pattern is fantastic...
Moin moin Doc! That wood shop looks amazing. Cozy, functional, detailed, with good realtions with Big Salmon...
Too wholesome for Doc, next episode he's definitely going to break the game to start a war or something like that.
The calm before the storm
Before the sand storm if you will.
Odds a warp sniper will be pointed at big salmons shop entrances to scare off their customers?
Do you think that maybe the warden transportation system would run a little more smoothly if you replaced the glass they walk on with wool? That way the wardens won't trigger each other.
Bedankt
you know what would be funny...
if you added a little packing station where buyers can place their bought wood in free shulker boxes. as you can see, this doesn't affect the shulker box profits at all. the buyers will just be happier with transporting their wood.
Ensiferum was the band that got me into metal. Nowadays my go-to metal band is Skálmöld from Iceland
Archspire for the wiiiiin
Canadian technical death metal band
Wow that warden farmer is way simpler than I thought it'd be. Using a bow is a clever trick!
He is high to avoid the lava the bore is a low as can be with out striking lava flow
