    sir, I have a question. The plate moves up to 3,4 inches per year which means the movement couldn't be felt at a time. so will it be enough to make the wave?

    • @funsciencedemos
      @funsciencedemos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Hello Elvis....Some plates don't move at all, and the pressure between the plates becomes larger and larger each year. When the pressure finally breaks the movement is much faster and much more than 2-4 inches. That causes the tsunami. Great question!!

      how is this siscon / incest?
      Nothing wrong to call your sister cute, or even brother.
      It's cute to see that your sibling has stupid confusions which makes us laugh.

    • @ImPoilicious
      @ImPoilicious 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Dux Unum By looking at the original comment, he only said he found his sister cute because of what she said, I personally would have laughed and found that cute because of "my sister's" lack of knowledge.

    • @ImPoilicious
      @ImPoilicious 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Dux Unum But the way I see it is just innocent. I don't see any malicious intent of doing something inappropriate. But that's your take on this, I'm not entirely sure, however I still think this is something innocent. Only time will tell whatever happens in the future, just hope they don't go down that road.

    This is a good basic explanation of how the energy is transferred from the shifting of the plates. However, the energy displacement works a little differently to this. He is using a solid object to represent a plate causing displacement in the top of the water. When a shift occurs, it happens from the bottom up. The energy from the plates shifting hits the underside of the surface of the water, being as the energy has nowhere else to go, it ripples outwards, much like when you through a stone into a pond.
