sir, I have a question. The plate moves up to 3,4 inches per year which means the movement couldn't be felt at a time. so will it be enough to make the wave?
Hello Elvis....Some plates don't move at all, and the pressure between the plates becomes larger and larger each year. When the pressure finally breaks the movement is much faster and much more than 2-4 inches. That causes the tsunami. Great question!!
thank you for clearing my doubt.
"What college did you attend?"
"TH-cam University"
wtf

And yes, i attended the most prestigious university of all; TH-cam
I showed my sister this and she said "well then why do they have plates? Why can't we just have a nice floor?" I laughed so hard. She's so cute.
@@juanandrade4615 i agree
how is this siscon / incest?
Nothing wrong to call your sister cute, or even brother.
It's cute to see that your sibling has stupid confusions which makes us laugh.
@Dux Unum By looking at the original comment, he only said he found his sister cute because of what she said, I personally would have laughed and found that cute because of "my sister's" lack of knowledge.
@Dux Unum But the way I see it is just innocent. I don't see any malicious intent of doing something inappropriate. But that's your take on this, I'm not entirely sure, however I still think this is something innocent. Only time will tell whatever happens in the future, just hope they don't go down that road.
I thought it would be better to use word "funny" rather than "cute" to remove this misuderstanding 😄
If you look closely, you can tell that that is not a real ocean
Chargers Hackenberg omg
Chargers Hackenberg 0.O whhaaaaa???!!!!?

This guy sounds like he used to work as a hitman for a mob boss named Vito, and after ratting out his boss to avoid prison time, he got a plea deal to go into the witness protection agency and gets relocated to Wisconsin to be a science teacher.
nice theory bro
or just maybe, his a normal dude...😕
Zayn Official nah, normal is overrated.

AnnihilatorGaming yeah I like the other guys theory because it seems more ... legit....

The video posted in the upper right was the best explanation. The gutter you used as a plate was above the surface of the water so it pushed the water. The video explained how something that happened subsurface much better.
Wow this guy would be a great Science Teacher
I know right

Desire MSP hail grammar
Desire MSP It was proper english, except they punctuated in a place they were not supposed to. Also, everyone used abbreviations at one point, right?
Love to hear it tell your friends to sub as well!
My country has been devastated by tsunamis in palu and donggala, thanks for the countries that have provided assistance to victims of disasters in my country

Tsunami can only go to a place that is flat
I've always been curious about how flash floods start. Could you demonstrate one?
*BEST VIDEO*
i really understand.. thx you
Why doesn't this guy have more subscribers. Honestly the best scie ce channel on TH-cam
Thats what we love to hear! Make sure to tell your friends to subscribe!
Nice video, but why isn't the water in the video pulling back before the wave hits. I might be wrong, but your video looks more like what would happen if a huge object fell in the water, not an earthquake, but please correct me if I'm wrong, loved the video...
lol i tho nobody realised it... the explanation is totally bad and somehow it get many likes.
G mator it’s not bad. It’s correct. If a big enough meteor fell into the ocean it would create a tsunami. If the plates shift and create an earthquake, it would create a tsunami.
He needs to do it again with his hand moving back and forth and then shift the block down. This will explain your question. His demo, the water is still. Not like the ocean. Or bigger body of water
"remember this are just small plates" . You need to listen too mate , he explained it there's an animated video on the screen.
You didn't mention before after an earthquake the coastal areas go low tide
Gobble Kronme *before a tsunami
Ya Boi Doge you are talking about the same thing
Good work bro.. im watching this with my 6 yrs old daughter.. u made her understand what Tsunami is... KUDOS...
*Cool. My science teacher is teaching us about Earth's Natural Disaster and this was one of them. I remember him putting this video and I loved it when I came home I had to watch it again...it was very satisfying and it was a very great way of learning about a Tsunami* thumbs up!
good video of a tsunami
Thank you so much! Be sure to like and subscribe!
I LOVE ur profile pic
I'm scared
Bears_are_cool DAVID If you don't live within 100 miles of a coast you don't have to really worry at all. 100 miles is pushing it I think.
Fariko Wishless Well im fucked then ...
Wonderful simple explanation! Keep up the good work.
I found this video on recommended and I never regret to watch this one it's really educative and helpful
The only reason I watched this video is because I wanted to watch him make the tsunami

*HI PHIL SWIFT HERE FOR FLEX TA-*
I'm just about to go out to the back garden with guttering with my children to do this. Awesome video. My kids were transfixed to this. 👍
Please do mention that plates only and only at PLATE BOUNDRIES. And there are 3 Types of such boundaries
1) Convergent Boundary :- Plates move away from each other.
2) Divergent Boundary:- Plates move towards each other.
3 Transform boundary:- Plates slide plast each other.
Pray for palu and donggala from Indonesia it bank of Indonesia

Thank you for sharing your experience!!!
This is a good basic explanation of how the energy is transferred from the shifting of the plates. However, the energy displacement works a little differently to this. He is using a solid object to represent a plate causing displacement in the top of the water. When a shift occurs, it happens from the bottom up. The energy from the plates shifting hits the underside of the surface of the water, being as the energy has nowhere else to go, it ripples outwards, much like when you through a stone into a pond.
There are 3 types how that Creates:
1. The Very Strong Air Pushes the Water.
2. The Earthquake happens and Pushes the Water Up.
3. A Landslide or Rockfall goes to the Water.
Im not mad.
*A LOT OF DAMAGE*
Done and demonstrated in such simple way
Wow this is the first video i watched from u and i really like it and ive been skimming ur content and i really like the type of videos u make!!! Keep up the good work
School never taught me this.
why content like this have less viewer than two grown man rapper mocking each other ??
Well that's probably because your English is perfect.
Thank you so much jared, i explained earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis to my 3rd grade class.
I'm autistic and in special ed but love science. I cannot learn as fast as other kids, but this made it very clear to me!!!:)
Anyone in 2017
Very well explained in excellent timing manner. Now my kid understands how tsunamis are formed
The tsunami wave tends to get bigger when it reaches the shore. Don't forget that. It starts small in the middle of the ocean, but ends up big near the harbour or shoreline.
I'm so glad about this channel because I can understand all explanation is made even when Im not a native english speaker...
