Terry was so intriguing for me upon introduction because he was the first magical being (besides Aaravos) we saw who didn't openly disapprove of using dark magic, and that's fascinating. Why is he okay with dark magic when pretty much every other non-human character treats using it even once like an unforgivable atrocity? Terry is dating a dark magic user and has even stated that he's seen Claudia do "evil things," but he stays in the relationship despite being a pretty morally upstanding dude. How does he rationalize that? I wish they would dive deeper into this aspect of his character
Strongly agreed. No other character has such an opinion on dark magic, where they don’t practice it but aren’t opposed to it. It could be very interesting in a lore-focused episode. It would also be funny if Aaravos is the one whom asks him, like he’s the closest thing to a deity outside of the arch dragons somewhat yet even he’s confused on why Terry is ok with said magic.
So true although we dont know the reason for that yet, i still found that such a breath of fresh air for a character seeming morally good like him to have lack of animosity towards the use of dark magic since hes an elf himself. I doubt the writers will do anything with him thought, i still love him to bits regardless. Edit: just heard from the comments about the writers having a terry-focused ep in s7, finallyy
Somehow Claudia has an elven boyfriend. We have spent 3 seasons with this character and we got nothing substantial. We have Claudia that was shown to heavily dislike elves. Even in s4 with her talk with soren. Giving her an elven love interest demands an explanation. Terrys inclusion in the story has done more harm than good. Claudia has overcome her disdain for elves and got rewarded with an elven boyfriend. It feels like Claudia is already redeemed at the start of s4. The sunfire plotline about the human elf relationship? Viren and Claudia the main antagonists are not an obstacle. Due to Terry they are a positiv example how to overcome the differences between humans and elfs. The writers have only one season left and Terry is still an incomplete character.
The writers have said that they’d like to eventually tell the story of how he and Claudia met and fell in love, either as a graphic novel or a movie. Also they confirmed that a season 7 episode titled True Heart will have him make a huge decision, so I’m really excited about that.
S7 will be chance to see Terry's narrative arc growing as a individual and I want to know how he and Claudia met each other and falled in love despite Claudia been a dark mage.
I'm afraid that so far Terry has been the poster child for codependency. Their with someone whose actively doing straight up evil things, but their in a relationship so their going to twist themselves up into knots to justify staying. He murdered someone for her! Terry is not going to abandon her no matter what. It's a good thing they don't have kids.
I still find it odd that Claudia, someone who was okay with killing elves and believed they were their enemy, started dating one. It would be one thing if they were friends turned to lovers along the show, but with Terry being confirmed trans... It makes me wonder if he was included only for the sake of diversity
She hates their arrogant attitude towards humans. Terry is the opposite of arrogant and didn't judge her before getting to know her. He's aware that Claudia does Dark magic but doesn't think she's "irredeemable", unlike a lot of people do in Xadia
@@DragonGoddess18 And that's kinda part of the problem. They can't just leave out a significant chunk of Claudia's character development and a whole new character out of the narrative and say "yeah, they met and became a couple offscreen" and refuse to elaborate further.
Terry REALLY needs to get some character development in some way. Like this could be a Moxxie and Millie situation where Terry could be risk at being Claudia's Plus one than an equal character.
I was wondering if when Claudia left him. If she didn’t come back he would help the protagonists but become a hell bent batman sort of character that devolves into a villain. Ofc that didn’t happen but oh well
Terry might be one of those wasted potentials in the dragon prince later seasons. I would have been happy if they cut down the Sunfire elf plot to give Terry more to do.
I'll say that I do atill enjoy his character for being a supportive person to Claudia, but I also agree, it would be very nice to see him get more development and maybe see his reasons for why he's so loyal to Claudia depsite everything. Mayeb there coukd be a point where he thinks she's gone too far and actually leaves, or she hurts him in a devastating way and that causes the rift. Either way, I hope they at least don't ruin his character.

In a recent interview with Aaron E. he said that there is an episode in season 7 called "True Heart" that is apparently Terry-focused.

The franchise already gets grief for depicting Rayla's departure in a graphic novel.
There's a leaked image of Stella & those ugly baitlings on a Terry boat. He clearly left Claudia.

I don't even care about the dragon prince but I'm invested now because of all the smarty pants videos about it
I think we’ve had more of the Sunfire Civil War arc on screen than Aaravos, you know the OVERARCHING ANTAGONIST?!
No way bro posted that soon after the creator of tdp confirmed there's gonna be a Terry episode in season 7
