For viewport. Make sure that you didn't hide lights from display panel. Because if you have check lights in "Hide by Category" in display panel. Then the object will not show when you make it a mesh light.
@@SWKTutorials Thank you for your replay ! It seems the problem is with my object..I don't know what exactly, but when I try it on new scene it works. Maybe something from the geometry of the object ..Thank you anyway !
Guys, make sure that you've XFormed and collapsed your neon object before turning it into the Vray light - otherwise it may move far away and look like it "disappeared"
VRay light material is old technique with some limitations. While mesh light has full light option. Like invisible, affect reflection, affect diffuse etc.

Why when I create a vray mesh light and pick a mesh from my object, the object disappear from my viewport, and also from the scene when I render it ?

Yes. In modify panel. Open mesh light rollout. Then click extract mesh as node
