The illegal use of radio frequencies clearly violates government regulations. The Radio Frequency Spectrum is a range of radio frequencies with values lower than 3000 GHz, representing the vibration of electromagnetic waves that propagate through space (air and outer space).
The Radio Frequency Spectrum is a limited natural resource with strategic value in telecommunications. As such, frequencies are managed by the government, and their use must be licensed by the authorities.
This is in accordance with Article 33, paragraph (1) of Law No. 36 of 1999 on Telecommunications (Telecommunications Law), which states that *"The use of radio frequency spectrum and satellite orbits must obtain government permission."*
The Radio Frequency Spectrum is used for purposes such as telecommunications network operation, special telecommunications services, broadcasting, navigation and safety, Amateur Radio and KRAP, as well as early warning systems for natural disasters, which have proven to be highly beneficial to society.
The use of the radio frequency spectrum must be in accordance with its designated purposes and should not cause interference, considering that the nature of the radio frequency spectrum allows it to propagate in all directions, crossing national borders. Kementrian Komunikasi Dan Digital (Komdigi) should take immediate and decisive action against such activities!
