Controlled Demolition, Inc. (CDI) of Phoenix, Maryland, USA (acting as Implosion Subcontractor to Main Demolition Contractor, Envirocon, Inc. of Missoula, Montana and the Property Owner, Southern Company of Atlanta, Georgia) performs the successful explosives felling of a 1,000’ tall, reinforced concrete windscreen with two (2), 1,007’ tall, free-standing, internal steel flues at the Georgia Power facility in Milledgeville, Georgia at 8:02 AM on Saturday, October 15, 2016. The felling of this windscreen sets a new ‘world record’ for the tallest windscreen (chimney) to be successfully felled through the use of explosives.
