I appreciate that Austin told Gideon that he doesnt even joke about cutting anyone with his knife or he will lose that priviledge for a very long time. I find that Austin as a Dad really invests his time and wisdom in his children and teaches them safety. Excellent.
If you teach, ids how to use knifes safe.y they are more capable than you think. But I agree they should be told like Gideon to not even joke about hurting someone.
You and Austin are such a sweet couple. And great parents. Coming home after a long hard day and still playing with the kids and giving you a small break as well as cooking the steaks. I love how you guys stopped the excitement of the knife to give calm but firm instructions on what was OK and what wasn't. And Austin making him look at him to say we don't even joke about cutting someone! You guys are great!!
Austin is a great dad. There aren’t too many dads that after working more than 12 hours would come home and play with their kids that way! Way to go, Austin ❤
haha I think those mamas were fibbing, Ms. Joy!!! I've never known a baby that didn't put everything in their mouth! That is just part of the learning...... Sooo cute watching papa build the knife! 💙💙💙
Exactly! It is a normal part of their development. That is the way they learn at his age. Whoever told you that their babies never put things in their mouths, they are the ones who should have concerns. Love your little family. To think you were not too much older than Gideon when I first saw you on television. 😂.
Seeing Austin playing with the kids was so heartwarming. This video was awesome and probably one of my favorites. You guys are an amazing family! Thanks for sharing with us, God bless you all in Jesus’s name!
It's completely normal to put stuff in their mouths. You're right, its about learning. Texture, taste, smell, etc. Makes smart people, the more they touch, but not taste.😊
Actually they don’t. I tell my daughter all the time how good her and her brother were when they were younger . Bc her 2 yr old puts everything in his mouth and climbs and gets into everything. I told her I never had to put stuff up or hide stuff from them getting into stuff.
@@glitterdrip19that's moronic since it's a piece of wood shaped like a knife, that can't cut a piece grass. Instead of rolling your eyes and being sarcastic, go watch TH-cam families that tell all and show all,
When your children are grown and on their own. They will remember how dad played even when he was tired. When they are old an grey like me to recall those times are priceless.
Your babies are all so beautiful!! Love the water table. Missouri has had some super hot weather lately, so of course today.......storms! Much love from my family in Missouri to your family!
Love, love, love seeing your vlogs! They are so natural, real and easy-going! I also love how loving your family is towards each other! High points for me were Austin allowing the kids to hold onto his legs and give him unicorn kisses as well as Evie leaning in on Gideon's shoulder and telling him how much she appreciates him! Also, love, love, love your intro video! I enjoy watching it every week you air! Thank you for showing us authentic family love!!! Bless you!!!
Gideon, the haircut is very nice. The stylist did an awesome job. Austin works very hard, but he always finds the energy to engage with his little ones. Blessings to you always, Forsyth Family ❤❤❤❤❤🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Austin is a great sport after working extra long hours he still has loving patience with the "cling on kids" lol. Poor Austin can't catch a break! and he still helps Gideon with putting his knife together. Glad to hear Austin explain very clearly how we don't cut anyone and not even joke about it. Aw! "your my best Gideon ever" Evy is precious. Gideon looked so handsome with his new haircut. What a neat experience for the kids to observe the eclipse.
I love seeing Austin spend quality time with the kids and he seems to be getting more comfortable with being in front of the camera!! You made a very wise choice in staying home instead of traveling to the path of totality!! The heavy traffic would possibly have been too much for the kids to handle and there's that chance of someone getting lost in the crowd!! There's another eclipse coming through Arkansas in 2045 and your family will still be young enough to enjoy it!!
It’s nice watching your family, the sweet children’s happy little faces. You and Austin are such great parents to those children and little Gunner is such a happy baby. 🫶🙏🏻xx
Love seeing kids so excited about their Poppa coming home from work. That’s how every child should feel. Austin is a great Dad and interacts so well with teach child. Joy, you are a wonderful Mom as well. Don’t worry about not having your make up in….you are so pretty without it. Your personality and beautiful smile gives you a glow that comes from within. You’ve got it all, my girl! ❤
Evie is so sweet! I wish I could reach in my phone and give her a big hug! Joy, you & Austin are truly blessed with 3 beautiful children. I love how they all get along and love each other. Y’all are doing an amazing job with them. May God continue to bless all of you. Much love from Cobbs Creek, Virginia ❤️🎚️🙏
Two yr olds is the oral stage of development. All kids do that. Nice wooden knife for Gideon. I am happy Gideon cooked steaks and played with the kids to give you a break. Very sweet and thoughtful. Be careful with those little and big eyes. Not good to look directly at sun. Best to see photos. God Bless, sweetest babies and kids!❤🎉😊✝️💟🌅🙏💖🎈🎊
I can’t even with Evie…seriously, she is the most adorable little girl I’ve ever seen with a personality to match…and that’s Including my own niece’s! 😬 🥰😊Just absolutely precious!!! Fun video as always!
Eve's is the perfect combo of you 2 and just the right amount of sass & sweetness....just a doll...Love Gideon's Haircut! All 3 of your kiddos are just perfect!! Love the video!
I think it’s an awesome idea to teach a young child how to use and take care of a pocket knife!👍🤩 Sometimes you need the craziness and chaos of a family I think that’s what a family is.🙏🏼🥰
Can't wait to see the new vlog and hope you guys have a great Friday evening and night with the kids and a wonderful weekend ahead and baby Gunner is so cute and adorable and he is 10 and a half months old almost 11 months old and he is getting big already and both kids are cute and adorable and hope you guys and the kids enjoy the solar eclipse and also hope Gideon is gentle with the knife.
Evie is just as cute & adorable as always always. I was amazed how clearly she has always spoken. Bunner is cute & always smiling, but can't believe how big he is.
Hats off to you. I need kids in bed before 8 thirty pm !!! For sanity’s sake. Austin seems to have a lot more calm and patience - or perhaps we just never had chance to see that side before. I will be honest; it used to seem like Joy did all the home/kid work along with a lot of other things. And it also sometimes seemed like Austin didn’t speak to her gently … things have seemed a lot more relaxed lately. And Austin participates more? maybe I’m off on that. But I’m happy for Joy if that is the case and everyone has patience and respect for each other. I know we are only ever seeing a snapshot of anyone’s life online. But my sense is that what we are seeing is the real deal - be it good or hard. Also - those water tables are the BEST thing for little kids - hours of outside fun!!! And it absolutely is a phase of young childhood to put things in their mouths!!! Glad the dentist is helping kick the thumb sucking. It really can mess up their teeth etc. Positive reinforcement is the best way to go!!!! ☮️
Before everyone starts pouring on the hysteria, let's look more closely at the details.😅 At 6:24, Joy holds up the package in front of the camera, and it clearly states, Canoe Knife Kit- Wooden Pocket Knife Kit. It is not a real metal knife with a sharp blade, it also states, appropriate for ages 7+ and the perfect way to teach knife safety. Not saying it could'nt hurt someone if used inapprpropriately, but both Austin and Joy warned him of this several times. Just in case you missed it.
That kind of reward system always works for my grandkids. Hope it does for Gideon. Pacies are easier to take away than thumbs. LOL Evie is so sweet with her common sense words for her brother. You have the sweetest little family ever!
I have worked with kids my whole life and I am almost 60. Kids put everything in their mouths especially when they are teething. Kids with autism might put stuff in their mouths later in life also or lick stuff. Its pretty normal. I think its great you are working with him about the sucking the thumb thing to get rid of the habit. Great parents :)
Exactly right! It could be teething, exploration of the world around them, and it's a positive sign of development. If they're not doing it I'd worry, and encourage it on some level by buying teethers or something, at least the 1st yr of life.
Yes. My kids put everything in their mouths! Dirt, toys, shoes, anything else they could find! Normal, normal kid behavior. You have the sweetest family:) Thank you for sharing your blessings with us❤
Hi! I’m a Speech Language Pathologist and yes, it is totally normal for babies to put things in their mouths! Try to provide safe toys for them to chew on! This is a way for them to learn about textures, weight, and size!! As long as the toy is a safe size for them and (relatively 😉) clean, let them learn by mouthing the object!! ❤
I agree with everyone else. It is perfectly normal for babies and young children to put things in their mouths. I don't know how Austin has so much energy to work that long, come home make dinner and play with the kids. As far as the knife, the thumb sucking, ect. Try not to let others discourage you. You are both wonderful parents and only you know what's best for your kids. Thanks for sharing your vlogs, I very much look forward to them every week. ❤
Watching you guys every Saturday is one of my highlights, absolutely love your family, your beautiful babies are just so adorable, it is a real pleasure watching them grow,& Gideon love your haircut dude, awesome, see ya next week , take care lots of love Shirley from New Zealand
Yall are great parents & know when your sons ready. I liked how Austin made Gideon look him in the eyes so he knows it’s serious. Stern but loving, such a sweet dad. The wooden pocket knife is a great idea, I’ll have to find one for my grandson. Joy always finds the best stuff for her kids. I love this wooden pocket knife idea to teach responsibly
I live in Ohio and where i was at we had full totality of the eclipse. It went dark for 3 and a half minutes. As it happened everything went completely quiet and the crickets started chirping. It was like the world stood still and the temperature chilled off. It was a good experience. I love watching your videos.. You guys are a very loving family who spends quality time with their family. They are well loved. Blessings to you all.
2:35 my brother begged for a pocket knife like our grandpa had so he could use it while fishing. My parents finally agreed one Christmas, and it reminded me of the “you’ll shoot your eye out” part of Christmas Story, because not long after he opened his knife, we saw a trail of blood drops all the way to his bathroom. He said he got a paper cut on one of the clothing boxes he had to open 🤣🤣🤣
Austin for the 20 min or so o tv each week it is hard to judge That being said I find you a great hands on dad. I know you love joyanna. It is nice to see a dad/husband who truly loves his family . You are a hard worker who loves your Jesus and family. Love how you lay out the consequences . Keep it up believer . You make me smile.
Thought, what about taking a silver marker so he can understand where the sharp part of a real blade would be. Parent as you see fit, they will have many memories with you
I have allergies+ sympathize with Gideon. One tip I have done for years is I change my pillowcase every morning to a clean one. I don't open windows especially the week trees open up. A Dr on a tv segment I saw this week said to rinse your hair every night. As bad as Gideons are I would wash hair every night. Your family seems to be outdoors alot so that should help some. Of course you probably have some med products that help alleviate. I use Claritin + Flonase spray. I also invested in the Navage I found at CVS. Even a clean cold wash rag over his eyes for a few seconds would be soothing. I hope he outgrows his allergies. Good luck. Gran of 5
Evie being so sweet to Gideon! Just precious! Joy my first daughter sucked her thumb. When she got braces they put tongue spurs on the bottom set of braces. Those things looked wicked! She is 23 now and yes she still sucks her thumb! Just when she’s at home or in bed. Not in public.🤷🏻♀️
I love that Austin is more involved in the videos, playing with the kids. The kids are really cute. All kids do put stuff in their mouths. At least attempt to I believe it's just a common thing. I'm glad Gideon isn't sucking his thumb. Turning into a big boy. Evie was so cute hugging Gideon at the table. Loves her brother.
All babies put things in their mouths. That’s how they explore their environment. It’s completely normal. Thank you for sharing the experience of the eclipse with us. It was cloudy where my husband and I were and we didn’t get to see it . We really enjoyed it. Thank you 😊❤❤
My happiest memories are being 12-13 yrs old and my cousin and I making "cabins" in the woods with our pocket knives. ❤ This was decades ago. Long before the internet. We never used them inappropriately. 🥰
I think it's ok that you gave Gideon a wooden pocket knife. It will teach him responsibility until he's old enough to have a real one. I've never heard of a child putting not objects in their mouths. They will put anything in their mouths.❤
Joy it is so very normal for little kids to put everything in their mouths. It is the oral stage of development during which time they are exploring and learning through texture, taste, etc, just as you said. Keep up the good work. You are an amazing mom and Austin in an amazing dad.
Kids often put things into their mouth to gage the texture and hardness of objects . It’s a normal thing to do at Gunner’s age . He can’t talk yet to ask you these questions so his mouth is used as a “curiosity tool”. As he grows , he will learn to use his hands and when he’s words are formed , then those questions will follow .
I appreciate that Austin told Gideon that he doesnt even joke about cutting anyone with his knife or he will lose that priviledge for a very long time. I find that Austin as a Dad really invests his time and wisdom in his children and teaches them safety. Excellent.

And cook dinner and have patience for screaming excited kids. What a patient dad. So Much respect. Love this family. ❤
“You’re my best Gideon EVER!” How sweet.
Oh my heart❤❤
Evelyn touches my heart Joy your my favorite Gidon Love this kids there so loveing and respectful Its good Pop giveing him rules about the knife
Can I also say that Austin reading the directions out loud is amazing for this children to hear!
haha I think those mamas were fibbing, Ms. Joy!!! I've never known a baby that didn't put everything in their mouth! That is just part of the learning...... Sooo cute watching papa build the knife! 💙💙💙

Those mommas are lying! All kids put stuff in their mouth! lol
Mine did as infants up to 12 months. None of my kids really put anything in their mouths after that.
Actually they don’t. I tell my daughter all the time how good her and her brother were when they were younger . Bc her 2 yr old puts everything in his mouth and climbs and gets into everything. I told her I never had to put stuff up or hide stuff from them getting into stuff.

That haircut looks super sharp, what a difference a cute style makes!
I live in Ohio and where i was at we had full totality of the eclipse. It went dark for 3 and a half minutes. As it happened everything went completely quiet and the crickets started chirping. It is totally normal for kids to put things in the mouth around 18 - 24 months as it is a part of sensory development
They do it much younger then 18 months!

Our grandkids love to run and give goodbye hugs too!
Your kiddos are so sweet together, three is such a perfect number! ❤ (raised with two brothers myself 😊)

Children don't need weapons, give him a musical instrument.
@denisesiriann7315 If taught how to handle correctly, weapons aren't bad. And this is just a wooden knife.
He is still too young, there are other things he can do.
We were smarter kids back then. This kid is hyper/obnoxious. We will see how this thumb sucker works out
@@denisesiriann7315You really aren’t very smart are you.
I think it's ok that you gave Gideon a wooden pocket knife. It will teach him responsibility until he's old enough to have a real one. I've never heard of a child putting not objects in their mouths. They will put anything in their mouths.❤
Nothing better than nature wow full free education in the wilderness great morals all your hard work
Wow Love the hair cut
Joy it is so very normal for little kids to put everything in their mouths. It is the oral stage of development during which time they are exploring and learning through texture, taste, etc, just as you said. Keep up the good work. You are an amazing mom and Austin in an amazing dad.
My daughter is 10 years old and I feel like I still am saying get that out of your mouth lol 😆
All mine and my grands have put things in their mouth. It’s normal. Hit you both are doing a great job with your kiddos.
I enjoy spending time with your family … reminds me of when I was a young mom! Writing from Canada 🇨🇦
