Happy you guys were able to ask some pressing, possibly uncomfortable questions. I for one don’t buy it. Will not be purchasing any AP product in the near or distant future. I’m hearing a lot of chatter, misdirection & close to little resolution. As a business owner, I see the signs and I know bs when I hear it. WOW. Watch Dave Fix carefully between minute 52 and 55. Clearly, even he doesn't know when AP is going to be axed by Aimtron. He is clearly nervous about year end. Dave Fix says "it scares the hell out of me" .
It's very difficult to understand how David Fix is still in charge there. He might be a nice guy but the decisions they have made under his leadership are mind-boggling. It's unfortunate because they make quality games (build quality). I don't know how you get a license and come up with 'Cuphead'. That sounds like a title for a limited run or niche audience. If there is one positive takeaway, it is that he explained that the BBQ game is meant as a layout for contract type games (ala Domino's).
BBQ and GTF were the nails in the coffin for AP, without question. I highly doubt Cuphead sets the world on fire, so it’s only a matter of time until they call it quits. I will give them credit though for making litteraly one great machine, which is Hot Wheels. Other than that though, I’m not a fan of anything else they’ve made.
I don’t know what the next few months will reveal. I feel like the signs are there that AP isn’t going great . Layoffs, not great sales . The writing is on the wall . It’s too bad because I hate to see any pinball companies not do well .
Layoffs, mandatory shut downs, and the talk about this next game needing to be a success really has it sounding like American is about done. Hate to see it after the progress made with games like Hot Wheels. For a while it definitely felt like American was continually improving. Since Hot Wheels, it has been all downhill.
@@loserkidpinball yep, it's been tough to watch. I enjoyed Houdini and Hot Wheels. Definitely seemed like they were heading in the right direction for a while. I'm always hoping for all the best for anyone in the business of pinball. More competition improves everything in the market.
I wondered what was going on at American. I went on the tour during Expo and their assembly line looked staged or fake. A few girls working slowly, screwing things in by hand just didn't seem real.
You want proof Fix and company are scumbags? Bowden is the most passionate dude over there and the best pinball player they got and they fired him three weeks before he would've gotten his supposed holiday pay. No Class. 🤣🤣🤣
This almost sounded like 2 bosses bringing in their employee to have a talking to.
