I'm a Christian- my Grandma and I went to see this in theaters and we both loved it. We also cried at the crucifixion bit- as it echoes The Passion of the Christ a bit. I bought the DVD when it came out and waited a few months to watch it. That was around 7 years ago, I need to see it again sometime- I still have the DVD.
Also, this is one of my favorite Bible movies, since it sticks close to The Bible, unlike Noah and Exodus Gods and Kings- all of which came out in 2014. This is one of the best Bible movies that has been made in a long time.

I didn't see that until 2013. I was 5 1/2 when the movie came out.
This film played one of the main roles in my growing up in the faith. I think I started reading the Bible after that, and that's where my life changes completely. He - Jesus - is the one who gives life!
Someone had said - to try to explain God is blasphemy. But the question is: how does one get to know God? Do you realize that you are a sinner and have you sought to depart from your sin? When I tried, I realized I cannot do it by myself. At some point I started crying out to Jesus and He gave me the power to overcome and guides me to more things that need to be overcome. There is freedom in His name, and in no other.
I spoke to a Muslim once, he might have been young in the faith, however he spoke about how our good deeds must outbalance our bad deeds and that through prayer we are forgiven and unload the load of our own sins. The testimony of freedom from sin through Jesus is different - about a new life - and is much greater. God bless you, friend.

At the time I saw to just below His knees but He was surrounded by the most pure and bright white light that you will never see on this earth! Just finished this, a beautiful film and a real eye opener even for non believers, I have just started my walk with Jesus in the last few weeks and have told him I love and believe in him and to forgive me for my sins, I want to share the light of god to others but I feel nervous and embarrassed of being judged especially in a world that’s straying so far from god but I must remind myself that I am spreading gods message, please pray for me to have strength and patience and I pray for all to make peace with the lord . I was genuinely curious about this trailer, and when I read the comments, I realized how many people don't have lives when they comment things about how this story is a joke. If you don't like it, don't involve yourself.
A joke? Yeah Mel Gibson made 400 million dollars off the story of Christ. So obviously many people believe in it. There are 2 billion members of the catholic church. That does not include non-Catholic Christians. There are way more of us than there are Jews, Gays, and Sinners. So the jokes on them. However, this film looks weak!
