Well done.on finding.a.good.workable unit. Those 2012 models are.so.reliable. I've. Got 3 of them. I've got.the 2012 model in for restoration and.the cost will be.around 2 to 5 thousand Australian dollars. Good find by the way.
Hi my friend, i write to you from México. I just bought one of these machines. In site, it worked fine, but after transportation, it comes with an alert sound and is "stuck" in stop position... what can I do?? ( I bought it with an audiophile intention) thanks in avance!
Just curious if we can see a short video of a 2" tape in action at some point, having seen the 1" in action in this and the previous video about it. And one other thing, was that particular tape running from a west coast station? Lastly, some years ago, I got someone to dub the contents of a U-Matic tape to DVD. I have never personally encountered another such tape before or since I first brought it home in 2006 (dub was made 10 years later).
The BVH-2000 is a great machine, I prefer them over the 3000 series(bad leaky capacitors and a scanner bracket made out of pot metal). Another thing that can cause issues are dirty edge card connectors, you can give them a basic cleaning with a Kimwipe dampened with 99% IPA and that will work to get a lot of the gunge off the connectors, it is then advisable to follow up with a wipe down from a DeOXIt gold wipe, this helps to protect the gold plating and also lubricates the connectorgold making card insertion and remover much easier, when I did that to the 1984 BVH-2000 I use at work every day, the Dynamic Tracking started working again. The original high-quality TBC for the BVH-1100A and BVH-2000 is the BVT-2000, which can be connected using BNC cables, but if you use the large multipin cable then the TBC allows the Dynamic Tracking to work. There was a TBC cared for the 2000 but most pros do not like it as it only digitized the video ay 8 bit.
I confess to having my attention continually diverted to "Lady Frankenstein" lol! A rather apt choice for the portion where you discussed making one machine from the parts of others! BTW was that a television broadcast?

Absolutely Correct Deoxit should be used on Connectors.
