    Bartender here. The trick to a good pint is a 40-45° angle and pull the lever down quickly to ensure you're not pouring pure head, hope this helps :)

    Just got mine and installed my first keg. When you look at the price, you buy 3 and get 1 free, then get £5 back per keg, after doing the maths, that works out about the same as you would pay at the supermarket. Brewdog IPA at Tesco is £2.75 a pint if you buy the small 4pack cans @ £5.50 and about £4.50 - £5 a pint in any pub. Buy 4 kegs, get 20% discount and then £20 back for your empties and it works out at £2.33 a pint. Very reasonable I think.

      What about the running cost?

    • @escapethematrix5069
      @escapethematrix5069 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CurvedSlightly good question. I tend to drink a full keg over the weekend then turn the machine off until next weekend, therefore minimising running costs. Fair point though, no idea what it costs to run but it cant be much.

      @@escapethematrix5069 its not much if the power of the machine is a round 65-75 watts and lets say you only have it on 48 hours a week you then do this equation the hours per week X the average price for electricity per kilowatt hour (22.6p) then divide that answer by 1000 to reach watts then times that answer by 70 for the actual wattage of the machine total cost for the machine each week should be 69p-70p unless you live in a cheaper region of the uk or if u live in europe its probably half that price as its 16p per kwh over there. hope that helps 👍

    If the customer service was bad then it seems they have learned their lesson. Daughters bought a machine for my birthday. It arrived the next day. I ordered 3 further kegs which arrived today. Emails from the company straight away to advise of the progress. Also taking out a subscription (without factoring in returns) and a pint of Stella is £2.16 - can’t argue with that

    Aways rinse you glass in cold water. If you dont and it had been cleaned in a dish water it spoils the pint. Also, never touch the tip of the spout to the glass. Pour it, free flowing and move the glass from 45 to vertical as the liquid reaches the top.

      Good firm push down with both palms on top of each other, try to avoid touching the blue bits. You should hear an affirming click. Also ensure kegs have been sat still before putting on, they don't like to be thrown about. Hope that helps.

    Bought machine from Costco 5 days ago and ordered first 3 kegs from Beer Hawk the same day. Kegs arrived two days later. First keg now finished and loaded second. Fabulous. I think this is the machine to buy if you like proper draught German beer and IPA's. You seem to be happy buying supermarket bottled beer so best not to review it if you cant afford it.

    • @limitedinsight
      @limitedinsight  ปีที่แล้ว

      Which beers are you buying? I'd suggest ensuring the keg has been sat still for a couple of days before gently setting it in the machine. Some beers are worse for it than others. I have one myself now.

      Glad you've had a decent experience. I had the worst experience I've had out of any online store. Absolutely disgusting service. I held back a lot on this review because it would've taken too much time up on the video and it wasn't about Beer Hawk but about the Perfect Draft machine. I wouldn't buy one myself, simply because I'd have to deal with them again if I did.

    • @RyanSmithSounds

      It will depend on how cold the beer is. And how they pour it. But generally speaking the head is a good thing as it keeps to beer lively underneath.

      U might already have the answers but yeah u can switch on and off as regular as u like. There should be very limited noise, mybe once every few hours, sometimes not at all. U will get a slight noise as u pour a pint for a few seconds. Hope this helps.

    Have you read the manual before making this video? Probably not, because you omitted some important steps. Also, in the tap unit installation, you have mixed up the sequence. Your posh accent is not a substitute for being a professional. This is food&beverage department, not following the rules may become a health issue.

      I have to admit I was of the same opinion.
      I was bought one for Xmas last year though and have to say I love it. Its certainly the best way to drink beer at home. I particularly like the Hawkstone Lager you can get on it now, great beer. Since I did this review a couple of years ago now things have improved a lot at Beer Hawk (now just called Perfect Draft), service is good and the selection of beers has improved a lot. It is expensive at around £3/pint on average but if you're just having a couple a week as a treat Its a great product and doesn't break the bank. Cost of the machines has fallen now too, start at 169 with a keg. Thanks for watching the video.
