This has got to be one of the most joyous performances I have ever seen them dance. I'm sure it was, in part, the reactions of the Japanese people who, I understand, really love them. You could just hear the applause strengthening as they got closer to the finale. It was beautiful and inspiring. BRAVO!!! BRAVA!!!

Agree wholeheartedly with you Ms. Dottie. They looked absolutely joyous during this dance. The Japanese people were really appreciative and their response was certainly indicative of that. I loved that last move when Meryl just flew into Charlie's arm. Amazing!! Just Amazing!!!
This was the perfect end to their season. The energy of the crowd along with how they completely embodied the story and energy of this program was just 😩👌🏿. A moment in time for me!
They certainly deserved it - but WHAT A GREAT RESPONSE!!! It was a wonderful performance - typical of Meryl and Charlie. That comes of dedication and discipline - which the two of them have in abundance. What they do on ice is remarkable. Sure wish they would continue competing. I will sorely miss their presence at the games.
I couldn't agree with you more!!! One would think Meryl & Charlie were Japanese. Everyone was on their feet. jWhat a fabulous tribute to them. I miss them terribly as well and wish they were competing!! They'd have a great chance at another gold in the Olympics!!
Maybe they would year in 2018, Book Worm. But by the next Olympics, they would both be over 30 years old, and considering the tremendous physicality of their programs, it might be asking too much of them - although I'd love it if I was proven wrong. It was even difficult for me to have to face the fact that, though they do love each other, it is not a romantic love, but a platonic one. When they dance, they do look at each other with tenderness and care, so I had to accept that. Meryl is engaged to Marina Zueva's son, Fedor and Charlie's been married a couple of years to Tanith Belbin, the partner of Ben Agosto, another ice dancing team. Meryl was actually a bridesmaid at Charlie's wedding, which is evidence of their real respect and affection towards each other. I wonder sometimes if they realize just how much they are loved by their fans. There's not a day goes by that I don't watch them dance!!
Still the best, the real GOAT couple! They were the best when Ice Dance was a real SPORT - 4 spectacular lifts, technical merit, twizzles, etc, etc. after the Sochi Olympics, they decreased the number of lifts from 4 to 3, and substantially decreased the difficulty levels across the board. They also inflated the scoring in a way that supported Papadakis-Cizeron or V-M - pandering so that these mediocre performers got inflated scores and could pretend to be the best -really? It’s just ridiculous the way commentators keep talking about the “deep edges” and the “lightness” and “edge quality” of these teams. Meryl and Charlie are still incomparable when it comes to any of these “finer points” while maintaining the rigour that a real sport should call for.

It's easy to forget they are on ICE and skating! Their moves & lifts would be difficult on a regular floor let alone on skates! BRAVO!!! I'm in awe!
