You can go to volcanus first and just not set up the metallurgic science pack, instead move all science production there since you don’t have to worry about new patches or pollution and you can place labs on volcanus. Then gleba can get you biolabs and productivity module 3 for 1 mil science each which will cut all future science use by a factor of 3. You can deal with gleba enemy’s by landfilling where there bases are after you kill them because they can only expand the nests on water tiles.
@@kuviboy_Medium demolishers can also be handled with enough gun turrets, although I’m not sure how many damage upgrades you need for that to be practical.
Hm... Gleba has infinite Iron/Copper but Vulcanus does too, and on Vulcanus you do not need to worry about pollution. Gleba would allow you to get the better research labs, but that takes a lot of research to get to in the first place. Not needing to worry about pollution on Vulcanus means you can scale much faster, much harder, so the SPM increase would be much more significant than the better research productivity from Gleba.
yea, I forgot that biolabs need purple and yellow science, so no need to go to Gleba until i have those, which will probably be set up on Vulcanus and Fulgora
@@kuviboy_, i guess space travel isn't a problem at all, and you can setup base on small demolishers territory only and after that move towards different planet while having backbone. And i guess Gleba is cool for second planet
Congratulations on getting caught up on nest clearing and getting automated rails! Such a difference compared to just a couple episodes ago. Thank you very much for sharing that water now seems to be such a "good" absorber! I think it's likely still worse then non-desert, as tree's are amazing absorbers, but at least this makes it much more reasonable to play water-heavy maps, to get more chokepoints for walling. And I would likely never have checked myself, as I "knew" water was a really bad absorber... ;D
While it's probably not as big of a factor now with landmines, the biggest reason I'd go to Vulcanus first for this run would just be because of the lack of polution and hostile enemies. Demolishers are much easier to deal with than biters or pentapods, and Vulcanus would let him expand all he needs without worrying about ever getting attacked. The artillery would also help a lot with Nauvis and Gleba.
I'm pretty sure the algorithm the enemies use to decide what to attack is to simply check which of the nearby chunks has the highest pollution and go there. They may take a few stops, as they recalculate a new target chunk. Once they reach a building, they start attacking it.
I never even thought about using landmines for anything as I saw them as "one time defence", but this changes everything. I'm surprised that they're so cheap and so good for the offense
I don't think Gleba should be the first planet, because on Vulcanus you can create speed convoys to speed up production, plus it's easy to create science flasks on Vulcanus, so it's easier to expand production
I get the feeling that the devs changed biter target priorities to attack vehicles more often. I've lost more cars than usual to biters after the 2.0 release and they seem to go for your trains aggressively as well.
If I might make a suggestion, you can probably use the remote control tank settings to clear nests that way soon. Just make ten of them and send them in fully loaded for war.
Sorry, I sort of assumed it was like the spidertrons, and haven’t messed with it myself yet. If it is just like driving it normally, this strategy is a bit less effective than I thought, at least without attrition. Though if nothing else, it’s tougher than the modular armor, and has an equipment grid of its own now. And if you get personal lasers or destroyers and the other drones, those still work (personal lasers in your armor) while inside a vehicle. Just an idea though. I’m far from an expert.
You don't even "need" automated rail transportation for inserters to load wagons that are standing still. Sure, it'd be annoying if the trains need to leave frequently, but for building or landmine supplies it might be enough that it stops decently correctly: You can always remove drive the train for more precise placement if really needed. You could technically even use this for ore/fluid trains, but in that case you likely want Really long trains (100 wagons maybe?), so you only have to send them with many minutes of intervals :)
Mind if I ask, if you are being so careful with not doing anything unnecessary that would cause pollution, why are you using trains (which need fuel) over really long belts? Is it too much iron? Just curious.

Kuvi was worried about their ability to kill medium demolishers for more space, since small demolisher territory probably isn't enough for a factory.
He was also worried about the cliffs
@@calvindang7291Demolishers of all sizes should be doable with a few strategically placed nuclear reactors.
I guess cliffs can technically be demolished with demolishers themselves too, so vulcanus does seem like the only correct first planet

Legendary series. At first I didn't think the 1000x challenge could be so interesting.

Landmines have been huge for expanding
People are mentioning infinite iron and copper from Vulcanus, but artillery and big mining drills are also going to be huge for this run.

Gleba as first planet would be insane, its like you're not having enough hell rn
I didn't know landmines were so powerful, just the tech is out of the way so I never tried using them

Looking forward to interplanetary travel! Surely the first planet will be vulcanus right? Those foundries are OP for productivity
After this video I started using landmines in my death world playthrough and HOLYYYYY they are SO MUCH BETTER than flamethrower turrets THANK YOU
100% vulcanus first

You can't remote control all of them at the same time can you? They are going to be slower than exoskeleton and die all the time

what distro is he running?
NixOS

I need them for moving around myself, but yea could use belts and pipes for resources I guess
@ I was just curious. Thanks for explaining.
It's too easy for him
you would be really cute as a girl
