This is a really moving account of a young man's battle to navigate his teenage years. Blair, the words you choose to use are in many instances quite poetic. To experience epiphanies in the presence of nature is a God-given gift. Your inner strength has led you to a peaceful present life. May you continue to enjoy riding the waves and capturing the beauty of this world in images and in words. I look forward to hearing and seeing more of your videos in the future. And, by the way, you have a beautiful voice narrating your story. This as well as being good-looking. But then, your family are all good lookers!! Aunty June.
Water heals man. Sorry to hear about your past, but sounds like you found a solution with the waves as well. Thanks for the kind words and I’m always down to chat about things if you want!
Amazing story! I remember you and Travis paddling out with us when you first got hooked on the ocean and surf scene. Some of your surf shots are incredible, very inspiring - keep it rolling!
This is an incredible story, Blair! Thanks for sharing with such honesty! I met you in summer 2016 at Blacks were you took one of the best pictures (to that day!) of me surfing. I still remember how you explained.. "blarrel.. like barrel but with an L for Blair" :-) I was a postdoc at UCSD back then going through relationship rockbottom at that time.. and shortly after I met you moved back to Switzerland in hope of rescuing my relationship. Well, while this plan ultimately didn't work out - I still have a small printout of myself surfing reminding me of the good times at Blacks. Having experienced the toxic relationship of my parents myself, you have my full respect and my empathy. Watching this "mini documentary" about you made me tear up. Thanks for creating emotions - in the water and behind the camera!
What’s up! I’m still using that explanation for the name to this day haha. Thanks for sharing your story and similarities, sorry to hear things didn’t work out. My mantra is things don’t work so things eventually can. Glad to hear you’re still keeping on!
Awesome Doccy Blair. I have a printed picture of me and Sheldon sharing a wave that you took on the Bluff... Powerful inspiring story brother. Visit us in Durban again soon. Sending mad love brother bear.
Giff!! Miss those good bluff days!! So stoked to hear about the print of you and Sheldon. Have been meaning for a while to take a visit back and really check out the coast. I promise soon!

Respect bro. I went thru some self destruction from age 14 with my folks split. But the truth is in the waves. Inspired by your work for years now.
