Deablo missed tackles, Minshew didn’t play like his life depended on it, Carlson gotta tighten up, coaching down & distance decisions and the offensive playbook creativity. Definitely time to use a high draft pick on Miller’s replacement. But nothing seemed more glaring than Deablo missing tackles. Skill players and DLine did a great job for the most part.

He doesn’t wait for plays to develop and resorts to using brute strength to gain yardage which is what causes his fumbles. Menshew is a Country boy from Mississippi that froze up in the California sun. He’s a talented guy but he’s small for a QB and I’m not sure he can overcome the mental aspect of playing for the most popular team in NFL history.

The Raiders lost this game because they made mistakes and because-apart from Mattison's moves to score that touchdown- they were inept on offense. The Chargers--with fewer weapons at the skilled positions on offense--didn't give up the fight in the trenches and, as such, they were eventually rewarded for their tenacity and commitment to the run-game; the Raiders defense eventually tired out.
The Raiders are what they are. They now have a stout defense, but it's not without its flaws. Unfortunately, the offense is run by a mediocre (at best) OC in Luke Getsy and the o-line continues to be a massive problem. Additionally, you have a gun-slinging, inconsistent QB in Minshew who is error prone. The defense isn't elite or strong enough to completely carry the team.
It is what it is. They are not a better team than the Chargers. The result today was proof of that. The Chargers' win wasn't some fluke--it was earned. The Raiders lost what was essentially a home game against a very beatable Chargers team.

What did AOC do that has proven he can avoid a DL standing in front of him every down last season? They had a legit RB last season which opens up more passing opportunities. The oline needs to step up. Period. Aoc is not an answer but a stretch to try and justify all the critics who think they know more than a coach who has been hired to run a program.

I mean, it was pretty clear to me. All the unforced errors that led to turnovers, down and distance decisions backfiring, plus a clear lack of cohesion on the O-line (bc they haven't all been able to practice together basically all summer) is primarily why we lost. Can't really blame Getsy's playcalling when almost every play needed to have the ball out in like 0.5 seconds or else the defense was already in the backfield. If we had put AOC in there like the comments here suggest, he'd have been a sitting duck getting destroyed by Bosa and Mack

When a team turns over the ball 3 times to a short field giving up points on those turnovers, it really makes it difficult to win close games. Too many mistakes and poor offensive game planning in my opinion. Our defense kept us in the game through 3 and a half quarters!

Lmao thinking the Raiders were the better team is peak copium by Raiders fans. From the 3rd quarter on, they were done. Vegas’s defense was playing well but had 0 turnovers and if not for several self inflicted penalties early the Chargers would have marched themselves down the field and scored in the first half. They made some adjustments during halftime and it was over.
Our Achilles heal is our O-line. Our run defense is a close second. Loosing Koonce and Tyree played a large part in our poor run defense. but, the O-line is the elephant in the room! AP didn't go for the 4th & 1 because, on the previous series, we couldn't pick up one yard in THREE CONSECUTIVE PLAYS!!! It's been said that not going for the 4th & 1 showed the offense that AP didn't have any confidence in his offense. Well, no sh*t!!! Why should he have confidence; the way they were playing?! Please God, JPJ needs to get healthy, quick!!! (Maybe Incognito can come out of retirement!!!)

I've been a diehard fan for 50 years it's not.
Let's start with AP he's not a Head coach he's just not. Luke getsy isn't a good offense coordinator. Are offense line is suspect at best. The defense looked good for most of the game but gave up Big runs that hurt us. But that happens when you get no help from the other side of the Ball. QBs are taking us nowhere The organization keeps making mistake after mistake, it's been decades so I see no fix coming soon. 50 years of being a diehard fan I've seen it all with this team. When you struggle to score 10 points in the NFL which is now set up to be high scoring league and we put up 10 points. This organization needs to get out of the hands of Mark Davis he doesn't know how to run it Biggest problem.

I like Minshew, but the dude is just a back up, he has no zip on the ball. AOC is probably a back up too but we don't know his ceiling. You know Minshew and he is not getting you off to a fast start. The line needs to improve and white needs to hold on to the ball better. Also the raiders still seem to be in the run until we have to pass mentality which doesn't work in today's nfl. Screens and the run game doesn't work once the other team realizes you cant throw the ball more than 15yds down field. Pierce is a defensive coach and the Defense looked amazing eventually got gassed at the end of the game because the offensive never did anything to speak of. Pierce as headcoach still takes some of the responsiblity for the offense but Getsy I feel like gets a lot of the blame on this game. I think it is to early to panic but yeah that was difficult to watch at times. 3 turn overs a turn over on downs a missed FG not going to give you a good chance to win. And yeah not going for the 4th and 1 seemed like you just had no faith in the offense and were playing scared which I can neccessarily blame AP for when they had sucked for a lot of the game but ddin't like the call.
I would not say they were better by far. chargers Defense won that game. BOTH Defenses played well. yeah, raiders, if not for the turnovers probably would have won the game. hind sight is 20-20. had they gone for it on 4th down and not made it, you would probably have complained about the play call, or said kick the field goal, or punt. they had already been stopped on 4th down AND MISSED a field goal. that is probably why they punted, hoping the defense would stop them. it was a close game until the end when the chargers finally got a couple long runs and 2 T D's. raiders played hard and tough.
