    Is there anything Cody can't do? Fixing engines, bee-keeping, mining, chemistry, geology, farming... he should never have trouble finding work

    the reason why i love codys videos so much, is because you can really feel the passion to science, knowledge and in general small projects, that give us a lot of insight to a given subject!. for instance i would never have guessed that i was interested in bees, lol. keep it up cody, cause even through a screen we can feel the love:D

    Hi Cody! You are wise to keep the cows out of your mine.
    Here in Scotland they are talking about opening a new goldmine at Tyndrum.
    They say that it will bring in a 200 million pound windfall for the village.
    The cows have already made a legal representation to be allowed free access to the mine. They have also bought up every pick axe, shovel and wheelbarrow in the area.

    Cody, I just wanted to say thank you for making your videos. I recently went through a breakup and lost my apartment, my job, and basically my entire life because of the way the break up went. Your videos have been keeping me sane, and I really appreciate how polite and sincere you seem. I know if I would run into you on the street, you'd be one of the easiest people to talk to. Thanks for being awesome Cody, and I wish I could have a mine myself. It would be nice to escape to somewhere like that for awhile. Thanks again man.

    Wow, that's awesome! Mining has a special place in my heart, especially copper mining, as I'm from Arizona. One thing that a lot of mines have, that I think is really cool, is a (usually) narrow gauge railway system to help haul heavier loads out of the tunnels. Ever thought about laying out something like that? If so, I suggest a 2 foot track gauge, as those seem to be the most popular gauge for narrow gauge railways, and you could easily build or rent a small 2 foot gauge locomotive (they have 2 footers all over Maine, mostly steam locomotives, but some diesels, too), and making the cars are easy, as all you need is really the wheels, a frame for the wheels, and a box made of either wood or metal on top of it. At my local railroad museum, we have a mining locomotive, so I do have some idea of what I'm talking about. Not much, but some...

    Hey Cody! A easy way for blasting multiple charges is the use of a pegboard. Basically a slab of wood with nails/screws in it for each charge or string of charges (neutral), and a "wand" which is your positive, a piece of wood with another nail or screw at the end. Easiest way to do it: Battery Negitive -> Pins for explosive Negative wire. Battery positive -> Saftey cutout switch (and an LED for visual conformation) -> "wand". When ready to fire: Engage system with switch, slide wand down the pegs to trigger each string. You can always touch one at a time, or like I said, slide down the column of pegs for a quick, sequential blast. You don't have to worry about the variances and unreliability of pyrotechnic fuses. Throw that setup in a project box with some simple quick connect terminals for each string, and it will be the best blasting controller you will have! You can even run the system off of some internal batteries, 4 9v alkaline should do the trick (2 sets in parallel each with 2 in series, giving you 18V with decently high current). Blasting in your mine is my absolute favorite part of your series, and would LOVE to see some sequential blasts using a setup like the one mentioned above, especially with those new 2"+ holes and AN based charges! Maybe I'll make one and send it to you!

    you should look into how to use your air compressor to shotcrete the walls. it's extremely durable and stable, fast to apply, and will give you a semi natural look. it uses the same effect as freezing rain in that as it impacts the surface, all the air is driven out and it gets super hard

    Cody, a good DIY for the compressor... Make a "shooting board" to surface that block, and the bottom of the head, before you replace the head. Use a piece of countertop, that is bigger than the surface area of the top of the block. Glue sandpaper to the counter surface, not the wood. Spray the block with WD40, lay the shooting board on it, then just slide it around. Do that once, with little to no down-pressure, and you'll see whether you have high and low spots or not. If it needs surfaced, you can still use the same board to do the work. Just spin the board end-for-end, a few times, and keep even pressure all over, to be sure you are keeping it all even. Reason for countertop cutoff piece... You can get cutoffs, pretty cheap, or free. They are generally perfectly flat, if your cutoff is from the field of the counter, and not near the edges.

      When you grow up on a ranch like that, you generally know mechanics. And if you watch the dozer video, Cody & his father have shown themselves to be quite capable with machines.

    • @shutereye2634
      @shutereye2634 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That air compressor is basically just a big engine driving some mechanical pumps that create air pressure which well, moves the air! Or compresses it, depending on what you set it to do, you can make a mini air pump with a small 12 volt DC motor and some rubber.

    • @nickvance148
      @nickvance148 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Engines are extremely simple most people who have some mechanical experience can rebuild one. I've rebuilt 5 and I'm 17
