Actually the work of refurbishing this instrument isn't a single person, but the entire crew of Quimby Pipe Organs.

I have seen you comment on other organ related videos. Not to be rude, but do you EVER have anything positive to say? Just wonderin' ......

This organ looks quite impressive, although to confess I would like to see more Cathedral size organs that don't contain electronic 32' stops.

8,000 pipes is nice. Come to Los Angeles at the First Congregational Church to experience over 20,000 pipes and two manuals that can be played at the same time for duets.

All but a few of the smallest organs have 2 manuals that can be played at the same time. They also have Pedals that can be played while the manuals are bring played. If the organ has 3 manuals - all 3 can be played at once by any reasonably skilled organist. 1st Congo is the largest Church Organ but the attributes are not unique. They are merely more of what normally make up the pipes and workings of any real pipe organ.

Let me clarify-First Congregational Church has 2-5 manual complete keyboards. One at the front on the alter and one up in what used to be the choir loft. Both digital, front can be moved around.

Tom Christman Then you mean two consoles, not two manuals.

@@organbuilder272 What was intended was TWO CONSOLES; one in the Chancel and One in the Gallery. E.M. Skinner in the front, and Schlicker in the rear. Who made THAT stupid decision!

Typical America - far too much organ in far too little building!

Richard Harrold Having played on this organ, I can say that it actually fits the room rather well. Now the Letorneau at Bruton Parish is another story.

An organ is NEVER too large, this is not a small building either. If you understood what an organ is, and does, you would not make such a statement.
