Just wanted to say thank you. The project went exactly as described and was complete in under 2 hours. I went with a Rigid pipe cutter which really worked well. Just completed it today so I’m taking your advice and waiting before using glue. My only issue and this isn’t on you, is the cost of material is probably way more expensive then when you originally made this video and I almost found this project to be cost adverse. Thank you once again, I had fun building this.

i tried this at home to make bicycle rack for 4 bikes and it was super easy, shared it with the whole community where i am live, i am sure the pvc building material guy will have a spike in sales! thanks so much for such lovely and easy instructions in details esp the lengths given and the way to organize cutting the pvc pipes, it made my job super easy. i am one happy mom! thanks once again

There are PVC pipe cutter tools that cut PVC with no mess. No vice needed either. A right tool for the right occasion makes all the difference.
I made one bicycle rack for 3 bicycles and one unicycle rack for 2 unicycles in less than 30 min.
Also, the friction of the PVC connector was enough to hold everything together, no cement is needed.
Using no cement also makes it more versatile, you can modify/expand it as your bike collection gets bigger.
One more thing. PVC pipes may be inexpensive, but connectors are.
The cost adds up alarmingly quickly. The only reason I still stick to PVC bike racks is because I can easily customize them.

For shorter racks 2-3 bikes leave one of the top elbows unglued, once assembled take that joint off and half fill the rack with water from this point. This will give the rack a lot more stability

I'm sure a lot of people have used this video and plan to help them build their rack. Awesome! I built one that was kind of a composite of yours and several others I looked at on TH-cam. Mine fits snugly in the bed of my truck and can also be used as a stand alone rack.

Thanks for the ideas and taking the time to make a great video. I am making a rack and your ideas have helped me.

This is kind of genius! Didn't even know I needed one but guess where my grandkids will be putting their bikes & scooters when I'm finished! Thanks :)

when your using a saw, don't leave it hanging gout over the edge of the table or it will shake and vibrate and you will find it a lot harder to cut. cut as near to the table as you can.

Sorry you feel that way, Mia. What kind of videos were you looking for? I try to keep a nice balance between paper crafting (see my recent Bitty Bakery Box tutorial), DIY decorating (see today's Pretty Patterned Pumpkins tutorial), and sewing/fabric (see my Stenciling with Freezer Paper tutorial). I still post at least two videos a month, with more available on my website. Let me know what you'd like to see :) Thanks for the feedback!

You should use pipe cleaner before using the pvc cement for better cement adhesion.

OK, how much did all the PVC material cost - including the cement? If you travel around your town or city, you will find plenty of wood pallets. There are many stacks of used wood pallets behind many businesses and stores heading to the land fill. Just go into the store or business and speak to the manager about taking the pallets, like I did. Once you have all the pallets you need, ho on TH-cam and watch the videos on making bike parking racks from pallets. You save sooo much more money than making a bike rack with expensive PVC pipes, PVC cement. spray can paint, and u-bolts to anchor the light weight PVC rack. Great idea, but not very viable for this type of project. Pallets are heavier material and don't need additional ground support to anchor them to the ground. Pallet bike racks are self anchored.

    Dear MadebyMarzipan, Dear People:
PVC plastic is very bad for the environment, the ocean, animals and us human beings. Everybody knows that. Also in the 1st and best country or the world with the best government.
    Stop using plastic!
One can buy a bicycle rack for 5 or 6 bicycles made out of steel for USD 30,- or 40,-.
Or one can build a bicycle rack made out of used wood.
The inch system nobody understands in countries where there is the much better metric system. It would be nice you would put all sizes also in the metric system. Please.
    Thank you.
