- Elias Quezada is an inquisitive 7-year-old in north Tampa. On Tuesday, a thought crossed his mind. What would it be like to hide in a garbage can? So he decided to find out.
That plan almost cost him his life.

As a child growing up in michigan I remember loving the garbage men coming. One looked like Hulk Hogan and they were always waving being super cool. Then they would hop on the back holding on, looked like the perfect job at 3

that operators reflexes are awfully quick if he was able to hit the emergency stop switch for the PTO cause those compactor blades run through the cycle each time the bin arm lifts over the hopper and most compactors are quick , that kid is extremely lucky and the parents or guardian need to teach him that trash cans aren't a place to play.

No,not only that reason. There's a lot more to it. That's just the one of the reasons we constantly tell operators not to rush. This is one of those unspoken fears.
Give him a good hiding
With those side load trucks, we watch the claw grab & lift the can. Then as soon as the can is just about ready to dump, we watch the screen in the truck to make sure we see what is being dumped into the trucks. I Haven’t come across an incident like this and hope I never do 🙏🏽

What does the camera show? Is it the outside of the truck or the inside after the can is dumped?
Its on top of the truck, the main purpose is to see if the can is empty before you set it back down,but you can see everything that falls out of the can.
