    As always - you have excellent content! I just wish you'd show up in my feed more often. Excellent post. I like that you present the facts without embellishment - and yet still let us know what happened on these great mountains.

    I like the subtitles so I can see the spelling of the climbers. The route maps and route names are excellent. You truly honor the climbers in your videos. Thank you!

      No, the main necessity of the subtitles is for his accent and very unarticulated pronunciation. I am glad he understands that to put subtitle, i can respect and like his videos otherwise i would not.

    Thank you. I have read about this epic season. You always include such great photos, many that I have not seen. Also, I find you easy enough to understand; some people need to get out more.

    The magic line and the polish line are the peak of high altitude climbing.

    I don't think I have ever seen a video going into this story. It's a forgotten tragedy and mostly gets overshadowed by the 1996 Everest disaster

    Great video! K2 is the ultimate challenge in alpine climbing.

      Nah challenge is a bit of a deceptive word for K2, Russian roulette is more realist.

    snow-blinded is a misnomer, it means brain oedema from high alittude, it's not eyes beeing exposed to snow as it might easily be misunderstood.

    Reaching Summit doesnt count, when you dont make it back down

    • @ericastier1646

      No, it counts but it costs your life. Dying might be harder than coming down, don't you think ?

    An excellent report! I’ve already heard about these deaths, but it was most interesting to listen to your explanations.

    For some reason climbing K2 and Everest fascinates me, but I don't know why. I think it's ridiculous to risk your life that way. Any activity that involves something called the death zone is too dangerous. I will never understand why people do it.

    • @ericastier1646
      @ericastier1646 ปีที่แล้ว

      i am in the same mindset. Been returning to these 8,000+ ft catastrophe for years, somehow is calms me down and put things in perspective. I couldn't say why i watch it either, i find it obvious that you don't go in near-outer space to see if you can survive even if that means you're still on a mountain. There's a major logic failure there by people who don't understand that the hazard is not the mountain it's the atmosphere being restricted to lower altitude. Of course the mountain adds additional difficulties : fast changing weather, avalanches, falls but it's the lack of atmosphere that kills.

    Amazing video 👏👏 my opinion is that step above camp 4 on K2 everyone is its own friend and noone can't relly on anyone..in most cases when that happens everyone dies...if you get sick, have lungs barely working at 8500m noone can save you in the middle of the storm...
    Also because lack of oxygen and when your vitalnorganz literally starts to freeze they say everyone has hallicinations, remembering their famillies etc,...so in a was it is peaceful death at the end...
    And i really think if there is high chance resquing unlicky climbers who got sick, injured in thoss conditions is no go, you will just kill yourself. It soulds selfish but everyone has a family waiting at home and promised they will come home alive

    Climbing K2 is almost as difficult as pronouncing the climber’s names 😂

    • @ericastier1646
      @ericastier1646 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's actually not 'difficult' ,it's russian roulette. How difficult is it technically to play russian roulette : no difficulty. What are you chance to die : pretty high. Ok, i know that's an extreme example but it made the point clearer.

      Thanks, at least i am not the only one who complained. He has the worst possible muffled unarticulated weak pronunciation i have ever heard, plus an accent. I don't blame him for the accent but for the inarticulate muffled way of talking especially ending his sentence by swalling his word into air. I'd pay to have him taken and forced by a team of linguists for one week to learn correct english.
