  • Another Short Version:
    • PIG FARM (WARNING 18+)...
    This is our documentary that we shoot during our final semester in Han Chiang College. The pig farm is located in Gertak Sanggul, Penang.
    It is a big challenge for us to shoot such documentary due to the smell and etc.
    By shooting this documentary, we had gone through all the process especially the cruelty one especially when they are going to be sold off.
    Pigs are an intelligent creature in this world, they know what is going on, they know everything, they able to recognise your face.
    However, we would like to thank everyone who appreciate our effort.
    Enjoy ^^

    To all the hate and rage comments, sorry if you guys had misunderstand or anything. Our task is just show out the life of PIG, even we did not film it, this is still happening everyday. Of course we feel sad and wanted to help, but what can we do? So i think what we can do is stop consuming pork/meat?
    Have a nice day ...

    This is the best treatment I've seen from pig farming. Of course there are things that I am not accustomed to, so they are a bit disturbing. But from videos of American, Australian farms etc. These animals are well treated. There are always going to be people that will rage and complain. If they don't like it do not eat pork then. Or simply do not watch!

      This seems to be better than some. There's sunlight for the pigs as well as other pigs which I guess allows pig "socialization".

  • @martimasters7704
    @martimasters7704 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    According to modern veterinary medicine, castrating a piglet without anesthesia is extremely painful and considered unacceptable farming practice. Because modern painkillers are inexpensive and safe, the pig farm in this video needs to include painkiller. It's only one short, step and it will set a good example for other farms.

      It would be hard to figure out how much to administer because each ways a different size to little would be okay but to much could be devastating even killing the pig not to mention expensive! I’ve seen tons of vets do it this way this is the way I was taught maybe some lidocaine. Sounds easy one shot but did you see his sow barn each sow had a litter from 14-24 and breed 3 times a year do the math. If I was running a pig farm again I would use spray lidocaine it’s safe and pigs heal super fast!

      Those babies will grow into giants soon after you get them, especially if they are farm hogs. Get a smaller type of pig, but not the teacup piggies that stay small their whole lives. Their organs keep growing and they basically explode and die. Also be aware that pigs are very intelligent, more intelligent than dogs, and can be trained. Some can also be very picky eaters.

    think of it: factory farming happens mostly in the US, where they can actually afford to properly feed and shelter pigs, while in Malaysia, a third world country with a massive percentage of beggars and homeless people, this farmer can give these pigs a high quality life. its very confusing.

      Pork is a very healthy meat if the animal is raised properly (ie. not put on full feed all the time) and the dish is prepared properly. The part where pork becomes unhealthy is the common types of dish that it's used in that contain grease, sugar and salt like bacon, sausage and hot dogs.
      Pulled pork, cutlets and loin are some examples of lean pork dishes. You can even get lean pork bacon if you know where to look.

    what about plants?
    THEY ARE LIVING THINGS
    but since you cant hear them scream or see any sign of pain you eat them. There is no difference between eating plants and animals. The only difference is the nutritional valies

    • @jbiebs1001
      @jbiebs1001 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, the difference is scientific. Plants do not have the biologically framework to feel pain. That requires a NERVOUS SYSTEM. Just to let you know, more plants die to feed the farm animals than they would when consumed directly by humans. There is no need to filter your nutrients through the body of another animal. Just go straight to the source and eat the plants.

    • @jbiebs1001
      @jbiebs1001 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +goodby guy Being vegan is about not supporting animal abuse/torture, planetary destruction, world hunger, and its healthier and we will live longer. Vegans do not deny that foods like steak, bacon, cheese, etc taste good, we just dont eat them because of the reasons listed above. The fake meats allow you to simulate what you used to eat, while causing the least amount of harm. I had vegan shrimp for lunch and will have vegan scrambled eggs with vegan bacon for breakfast, with of course, lots of fruit.

      +Brandon Maya "none of this is animal abuse" ....
      Did you not watch the squealing piglets being mutilated and castrated? Is killing something after a short painful life of imprisonment not abuse? If I did that (or anything remotely similar) to a single human, would I not be in jail for the rest of my life? Would 10:35 be less painful for you? How would you like to be treated like that?

    • @brandonmaya7698
      @brandonmaya7698 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      .

    • @WhoClashQueenStones
      @WhoClashQueenStones 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Brandon Maya You make a lot of assumptions. I'm a vegan and do not support animal husbandry of any kind, and I certainly don't live in a air-conditioned multiple room house. I am also not stupid, obviously this is a business which makes profit due to the desire of humans to eat animal flesh; this is an inherently wasteful process (water, feed, not to mention pollution) which reduces animals to objects with no feelings or rights. You state that there can be no equivalence between the forced mutilation and castration of a pig and a human, but you give no logical reason why. I ask again, would the castration shown be any less painful for you?
      Suppose some alien species with far greater intelligence than humans (I.e. a similar difference as exists between humans and pigs) arrived on earth and began to process, mutilate, castrate, and kill humans in the same way pigs are in this video. How could you use the same morality which justifies such treatment of animals by humans condemn the same treatment of humans by this hypothetical species?
      Perhaps you could try adressing my points rather than insulting me. I'm interested in why you think the way you do.

  • @julioanibalvet

    Instead of criticizing a life style that only happens in Penang, feeling sorry for the hardship of pork producers in there, and promoting vegetarianism by stopping pork consumption. Think about the safety policies and education can this government give to its people. If even the people in Penang cannot have the basic needs from a first world country, how do you expect a better pork industry in first place? In the other hand, you can consume a more humane handled and safest pork from countries like Denmark, Holland or Canada, but then you have to pay for it. The reality is, if you are a poorly educated consumer, your income is low and you enjoy cheap pork chops, why stopping this way of life?

    This is why I don't eat meat. Removing testicles without freezing? Clipping ears and tail no freezing? In another video I watched, the slaughterhouse staff dragged a pig by one leg as he screamed and cried and tried to crawl away. I believe animals feel pain, love, and know terror as they are being led to slaughter. However people choose to not look at or look at where their meat comes from, eating meat is not only cruel, but it's not really very healthy for you.

      Are you stoned, please show me proof that pigs are treated worse in the US, PFFJ (pigs for Farmer John) employees a staff of veterinarians, not to mention a full lab department.
      And I would bet you wouldn't find anyone pouring cum from a discarded water bottle.
      99.9 percent of Farm Workers treat these animals with respect, and see them for the value each pig has, in providing each worker and their families with a better life.
      Oohlala, I'm sorry you just discovered that meat isn't made on little styrofoam trays, in the grocery store, nor am I bothered that you're a vegan or a vegetarian, for I will suffer eating your portion of barbecued ribs and bacon.
