Josh Smith is just beyond good. I've only seen him once in concert, but it's something that I'll never forget. Nobody got up to get a drink, go to the loo or anything. Seriously good guitar players there completely transfixed on his playing.
I was fortunate to see this live. He did sloe gin as an encore and then looked like he was done and walking off stage before his guitar tech handed him that 335. When he started playing the intro the place was in shock. Best concert ever❤️🎸
Thanks for the wonderful music, Joe & Josh are absolutely killing it , all that's missing is Kirk for the holy trinity!!! . Did I spy one of Joe's DUMBLES on stage? . PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE ❤❤.
Thanks for sharing this with everyone, what a performance! Joe B. does a great job of retaining some of the original EC chops in his closing solo and Josh Smith is always stellar. Thanks again!
Joe does this so many nights a year, yet he manages to sound so energized and so awesome it blows the mind. Josh getting some solo time too, that's awesome. What a treat this night must have been. The Royal Albert Hall is where Joe's career kicked into overdrive thanks to PBS and the RAH DVD. He's been a straight ride to the top ever since and it couldn't happen to better guy or a better player. Love ya Joe. Thanks out and about, super nice job recording. Hope you has a blast. Cheers from Chicago.
what I am hearing is is overdriven as in mixed to loud so that I can't make out some of the vocals and leads. what I can hear is wonderful. I do hope a better mix is going to become available.
Phenomenal playing by both Josh and Joe and Reese on organ too! And to the videographer, thank you so much for posting this! You said you recorded this with your phone? The sound and video are excellent. Which phone is it? Anyway thanks again for the video, I’m a 61 year old guitar player/full time musician in California. I’m up watching this at 4am after a gig I had tonight and it’s inspiring to see Josh and Joe tearing it up on guitar.
I just landed back in the states from London a couple hours ago, I'm jet lagged to hell, I haven't slept much all weekend but I'm enjoying reading these comments. Thank you for the compliment, I enjoy being able to capture these shows for people that can't get there and for the people that needed to be nudged a little bit to go see the stuff live and support the bands and support the venues. Yes, I use a telephone it is a Samsung S23 Ultra, also usually being in the first few rows helps. I was at Youngstown Ohio late February I had front row Center seats, those videos of Joe turned out flawless.
actually not really, I've been performing laser light shows for 36 years, I now have tinnitus and always wear earplugs but both nights in London I kept forgetting to bring them and the sound didn't bother me at all that's how good Joe's sound is. He doesn't have to blast you... even second row at the Albert Hall the sound didn't bother me, that's why it sounds so good on the telephone. When I go to outdoor amphitheaters in the smmertime and try and film that close the sound sucks cuz it's over modulated... it's quality sound, Joe is a quality musician and a total tech geek and I mean that in the best of ways.
when playing Blues or Rock Solo I'm always improvising. But THAT solo for me is an almost untouchable composition, and in this case I try to replicate it note by note, and with the same style and vibrato, as close as I am able (there are a few other Solos of the same quality.. i. e. Eagles, Hotel California or Pink Floyd, The Wall.. in my opinion.. not to forget Dire Straits! or Queen)
what I'm hearing is you approach the composition with respect for those who did it first and that's why I'm guessing if I heard you play it, it would sound really good... rock on!
IMO, too much emphasis on exactness. The reality of music is it should be interpreted, and used as inspiration. If you want the original listen to the original recording, but live music should be spontaneous . Even original musicians don’t play exactly every time. If they did then why bother see alive performance?
You try sitting at a concert, jet-lagged as hell and try filming 1/2 the show with a telephone. Plus, Reese was hard stage left from me, I was second row shooting thru hair doo.
Josh is probably the most melodic soloist I've ever heard!
You know you’re somebody when Josh Smith is your “rhythm” guitar player! 👍🏻👍🏽
you definitely got that right!
Ladies and gentlemen, nobody said this👆🏼
Josh Smith - not doing himself any favors.
@@enmanuelleonmusic no one had to say it, we all agree Josh is the man !
And Kirk before Josh

He certainly doesn’t get enough lead time.
He is really good. He also is a great instructor. He has a class on TrueFire.
@@rskirk22 I bought Blue Highways it a while back . He is a great teacher, but I needed a beer afterwards to feel a bit better. :)
One of the best blues players around en Bonamassa on stage as well!
Smokin Josh!! Smokin Joe!! Nicely done Gentlemen!
no no no, it's jivin' Josh and smokin' Joe
...is that the wonderful 👉Reese Wynans on keys , a greatly admired & respected player & man ...
yep, Mr Double Trouble himself
I was fortunate to see this live. He did sloe gin as an encore and then looked like he was done and walking off stage before his guitar tech handed him that 335. When he started playing the intro the place was in shock. Best concert ever❤️🎸
Mega solo from Josh! So fluid
Josh Smith is something else!
Josh Smith is very impressive!
Dude is a badass!
Absolutely on fire.Great band.

Josh is killin' it !!!!

3:07 drummer never missed a beat and no one notices. Great Musicians all around in this performance.
Yup - Don't see a broken stick very often - Seamless pick up of the new one as well !
Josh Smith... Pure Talent
Josh just simply burns! He is so freaking melodic!
Lets appreciate as good as these guys are.... nothing still touches the original solos Clapton laid down on this track over 50 years ago.
what I am hearing is is overdriven as in mixed to loud so that I can't make out some of the vocals and leads. what I can hear is wonderful. I do hope a better mix is going to become available.
Yo, Moron, this was recorded with a telephone; the house sounded fine. If you're going to post on a channel at least read the description first.
100% and at the age of 23 no less
History!
Best version of Crossroads ever.
2nd best
Great footage!
Wow 😮 what a camera 👍👍👍👍👍
Joe isn’t too bad either ☺️
Thank you :)
This is his BEST BAND!!!
Love this❤
Thanks for the share… wow.. great view
Sounding good JB
Josh Smith is a genius! He did such a great job in this song! Joe knows his band! Josh --- big hug --- You ar an amazing player!
It is super cool when you go from Portugal to a JB concert in London and Josh Smith is also in the band. Double-header and a great concert.
Thanks again!!!👏
Awesome🎸
Josh !!!!
Josh is tremendous
Josh is such a good guitar player!
NICE

je dois reconnaitre que c'est bien envoyé Joe ¡
You know by their faces that this was just colossal!
You see the bassist's face and he says "This song is coming really good!"
Your ears must be shot standing so close to the stage. Great video thanks.

@@outandabout2112 I saw him in Brighton about 7 years ago. Boy was he loud. Great musician though.
I was there 😀
Joe got Josh out of a tee shirt - impressive
LOL maybe Josh feels overshadowed by Joe wearing his suits... thanks for posting
😂😂😂
Yes..Josh is the master here
In which band you hear two guitarists like this … ❤️🔥
Excellent!
Wish I could play with sunglasses on
Love Josh Smith
Yeah, Josh is the original one here, for sure..
Josh Smith is a mOnsTer player.
1:29 Josh Smith!
Played with a 335, the correct axe for the job!
The “Crossroads” on “Wheels of Fire” (the most well known version) was played on the SG.
Nice 335.
Curious if the sunglasses are because the stage lights.
An old song with better musicians!

@@outandabout2112 this is not always the case, but for the famous "Crossroads" live version definitely yes👍

is Josh Smith gigantic or is his signature guitar tiny?
LOL He's not a small lad!
Josh rips
Like only a 335 can😆👍👊👊👊
Except when it was played on an SG like the Cream version.
Adrian Smiths version blows this away
Like both players, but Smith’s guitar sounds much richer and fuller.
Josh's opening tone- violin singing like Eric Johnson. I guess it's good to be named 'Eric' here rather than 'Steve'
Not loud enough
iT'S A F'ING TELEPHONE! In the room it was plenty "loud enough"
Too bad Reese gets no respect from the camera operator......
You try sitting at a concert, jet-lagged as hell and try filming 1/2 the show with a telephone. Plus, Reese was hard stage left from me, I was second row shooting thru hair doo.
Slechte gelui de opname, jammer
Lance Lopez od it better
Clip sound BAD.
Josh made one memorable solo in this song... case study!
Barf.
