    I love that mold base, it's a definite idea for down the line. The cuticle trimmer is a must have tool in my arsenal and I have picked them up from Dollar Tree by the bunch, as I can never find the one I had set aside to use when I really need it, so I just grab one from the tool holder I have hanging on the side of my carts. That and dotter tools are also a must to have, next on my list, silicone brushes. Thank you so much for this tutorial and showing how easy it can be to do large molds.

  • @timrockman7
    @timrockman7 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Pine wood stir sticks, new ones, can absorb liquids and they will release billions of very small bubbles.
    I always seal my sticks with a few dips of acrylic medium or other type of paint that can soak into the wood.
    That will prevent some bubbles.

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's a good idea. This silicone rubber has excellent bubble release so I didn't worry about it.

    • @timrockman7
      @timrockman7 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The larger the bubbles are, the harder they push upwards to the surface and the smallest ones are bogged down by the thickness of the material. It's the ones you can't see that will show up as tiny imperfections in your molds.@@naptimecreations

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching, I'm not selling the molds. I purchased the flower and did a DIY project with it. You don't need special permission for that. If you buy the product you are free to do what you want with it.
      Now starbucks cups for example, people buy those, add epoxy. Change the logo to a different color. Add to the original logo etc. That's things you need special permission for.
      This flower shape doesn't have a copyright like a logo does. Hope that made sense.

      Make sure you go around the outside rim of your mold housing with hot glue or 100% silicone caulk so no silicone will leak out.
      If you don't mix enough silicone rubber you can always add more by pouring on top of the previous layer the next day.

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can do that but you will most likely need to cut down the side of the finished mold with an exacto blade to get the master out.
      Then when you pour the mold, wrap multiple rubber bands around the mold so the resin doesn't flow out when it's curing.

      Hi Tish, The test tube part is plastic & hollow so I would need the hollow part to stay hollow but I have Absolutely no idea how to do it 🤔 Lin 👍❤️

      @@lindaeastment4542 that would be tricky, you might not be able to mold it because the silicone won't be able to get into the cavity that's inside. It wouldn't be able to flow in.

      @Linda Eastment
      The only thing I can think of to use for an insert would be to make a silicone mold of the INSIDE of a somewhat smaller test tube, then insert that into the larger, hollow silicone test tube mold you have already made, (from its exterior) then pour your resin between the 2 molds. Maybe tape a toothpick across the tops of the two pieces to keep insert straight?
      The resin test tube might be really thin-walled, or have a lot of bubbles in it, so maybe spray some 99% isopropyl alcohol (got mine on Amazon) in and on both tube molds before slowly pouring a very thin resin. I sure hope that made sense?

    What you do personally is IMPORTANT
    My project turned out bad, because I did not use your method of pouring the mixture into another cup, the base was white liquid.
    Next time I will pour into another cup for sure 100%

      Ooohhh yes, sorry that happened. It's hard when both parts are white because undermixing can happen very easily. It's hard to tell if it's mixed all the way.
      Definitely try double mixing like I did. I'm sure it will work perfectly next time. Thanks for watching.

    Will you be selling this mold in your Etsy shop???

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately no, I just made it for personal use. I dont have enough silicone rubber to make more but my friend is a professional mold maker and I am going to ask her if she wants to start offering the mold for sale. I have had a lot of people who want to buy it. So I think it would be great if she says yes 😁
