The whole reason Haman gets emotional and worked up around Judau is essentially explained in the manga _Char's Deleted Affair_ - he reminds her of what she was like when she was just a few years younger...she was an idealist like him. It also explains why Haman seems to hate Char so much in Zeta: basically, the Red Comet broke her heart, and broke it HARD.
On one hand, Char was a douche for leaving the weight of Axis all on Haman when he left, especially due to what happened on Side 3 combined with her dad getting murdered. On the other hand, Haman did him DIRTY before he left for the Earth Sphere, and I can't blame him for wanting nothing to do with Haman.
yeah, but at the same time, she basically allowed her friend and Char's unborn son to get merc'd. that's the reason why Char left her alone- she broke his soul
ZZ is trash, judau is a fool(yet not Zeta or CCA Char level fool). He was just a child so he didn't have the charisma to properly seduce Haman into his service and thus resolve their conflict while healing her soul... but it never works out when women are older than the men they lay with.

If she'd decided even once to just go 'Yo I'll take your sister away from Glemy and give her a better life.' then the conflict would be over. Haman was the adult, and she always went with naive trite lines like 'He's already under my power'. What? No he isn't. You just don't get it, because you don't understand the dynamics of human relationships.
The second half of the series is where it gets better. You know it's the second half when the episode opens with "Silent Voice" rather than "Anime Ja Nai",

Just caught up a couple weeks ago. I didnt appreciate it at first but after finishing it, I WANT MORE!! I beg the Gundam animation team to bring back any ZZ exclusive characters back in the next Hathaways film. Judau, Leina, La Roux, Elle, etc... would be great homage to ZZ.
ZZ has good and bad; even the early part has potential (Mashmyre is like Carta in that he sees himself as a noble knight but only realizes he's fighting for evil after damning himself)

Not really, ZZ is only good if your view of it and other previous gundams is shallow. Just by the themes, ZZ is horrendous because of the gigantic nose dive it takes from previous installments, namely Zeta. For example, one of the main themes of Zeta, and Gundam as a whole, is personal growth through maturity. While Zeta was known for multi faceted plot subjects, from characters to politics, ZZ basically throws all of that out the window and settles for childish idealism. Just compare Kamille and Judau. In Zeta Kamille starts off as a smartass who gripes at every bit of injustice possible. The thing is he isn't wrong when he complains. When he gripes hes not just being a shit, he makes wholly valid points about injustice. However, even though he is right, his remarks are shown as bratty smartassery for a reason. Although Kamille is justified for being so passionate about injustice, one of the themes of Zeta is that to practically fight injustice and change the world, one must be practical themselves. This means somewhat accepting injustice and being willing to compromise. Not only this, Zeta also shows that justice is relative. Everyone follows their ideals with the sense that they are justified. Conesquently, Zeta is filled with moments where characters act harshly for their sense of "right" and are forced to break their old ideals and come to new terms, or develop. Indeed Kamille begins to broaden his perspective and make decisions that both take all sides into consideration and keep the most people out of harm's way. Judua on the other hand has none of Kamille's nuance and he simply remains the same ignorant, hard steady jackass the whole time. And rather than challenging his immaturity with a harsh reality check, like with Kamille, ZZ instead supports Judau's rashness as if the real world is one where anyone can beat life with brute force. Not only is this the complete negation of what Zeta stood for, it is stupid. I mean even the intro to ZZ is some crap about dreams and "dumb adults". Yeesh.
You are just stupid, that's why you refuse to see that she has depth beyond that caricature in your imagination. She was a Newtype, not a mouth-breather.
I guess but I think they had to show how she was on the inside. She’s still damn evil and sly throughout most of the show, they had to explore how torn up she is

This is one of the major issues i have with Haman in ZZ, she's just not the savage she was in Zeta. Like here at 13:01 that's the Haman i know, who doesn't even flinch to a mobile suit almost smashing her just like Mineva. This is the same woman that can't aim and misses lethal shots on Judau and his sister a foot away and runs kicking and screaming like a little girl at the sight of a newtype temper tantrum? Making Haman obsessed over Judau was the worst thing that could happen to her.
She's pretty savage. The entire reason Judau returns Mineva is because he realizes she's dead serious, she coldly brushes off Mashmyre's death, and even in a vastly weaker suit she still fought Judau to a draw. Zeta Gundam Haman is overly obsessed with Char; ZZ gundam is more evil overlord and even her feelings for Judau kinda make sense (she's so used to everyone being evil that meeting a genuinely nice kid is a shock, and he reminds her of her younger self).

It was nimbler and its psycommu was still a better newtype control unit than the one mounted on the Zeta and ZZ. Also, funnels are a big advantage against suits that don't have them. I wouldn't consider it inferior to the ZZ by any means
