To be where you've been, to have experienced what you've experienced, and to 'somehow' get to where you are is nothing short of AMAZING! I myself battled with addiction for most of my life. I’m 32 and have only recently in the past few years been able to beat it. I’m proud of you. I’ve been watching your videos for about 8 months now. I count down the minutes everyday for new videos. You make me laugh! You have helped me keep the beast inside me at bay, and for that I will be forever thankful. I certainly didn't expect a slot channel to provide such a meaningful and inspiring life story. I"m still surprised as to how entertaining these videos have been the past few years. Who would have thought 20 years ago that someone could make a living commenting on slot and having to avoid security. All said, excellent narrative, you are quite the storyteller!
I have watched every one of your videos and I feel that this one is the very best. I have been fat since I was a child and today I weigh close to 400 lbs. I have tried numerous diets and have lost and regained the same weight. I know how it feels to walk into a room and people are disgusted because of the way you look. I am very proud of what you have accomplished. Now it's also time to be proud of yourself.

October 5, 2016 7:30am. That was the last time i put a needle in my arm. Years of self destruction and torment led to that very moment. I am happy to tell you that I now am the proud father of an 8 month old boy, husband to a loving and caring wife/best friend. Sitting at my desk right now at work feeling grateful. Glad I found your TH-cam channel. Feels good to find someone so different yet so similar. Keep up the great Work VLR!

Thank u for sharing yr lifes struggle. I just went through a weight loss the past yr bec they wouldn't do hernia surgery until I lose weight. I exceeded their expectations and now no surgery and my numbers for everything are where they need to be. I looked forward to yr videos everyday, not knowing yr struggle and how my comment was help for u! I can’t believe I just saw this. I’m the woman who shouted out to you while you were at New York New York on Feb 9th during your filming of the video I made a new friend at NYNY. I kick myself every day for being so nervous and not sitting down with you. I listen to my voice on it and say that’s my 1 minute of fame with my favorite TH-cam guy. Hi Dan. I would say you were lucky to have had 2 years to spend with your dad having had as long as you had to have with him. But neither of us are lucky. I lost my dad at the age of 13. We had a year and a half to prepare but I was too young to understand the lasting impact that would have. The meds he was on made him irratable and I was resentful. It took several years for me to understand what I lost but I realize now it's something I needed to grow as I have. I will however never stop wishing we had more time, it helps us to realize that our time is precious and we are better people for it. Thanks for making videos and sharing with us.

It saddens me that some have to exploit the challenges and demons of others to try and get attention or just to down right hurt someone. NONE of us know what others are dealing with on a daily basis - some hide it really well. It took courage and strength for you to not only change your health over the course of one year - but for you to be able to stand there and tell your story - and then to upload it for thousands of people to watch. Hi...Just recently started watching you over the last couple weeks...am kind of in the same situation you were...except insurance bumped off my medications, and now my dr isn't "in network" and had a very bad day today trying not to eat, and needing to because its the only thing that makes it feel better...going to start over tomorrow...this has truly inspired me to do better...I hope tomorrow is a better day...that is one thing..you can always start over...or start again...thank you

You entertain like no one else whether you showed your face or not I haven't miss one vlog since I began watching quite a while ago. My husband and I have been to Vegas from Massachusetts two to three times a year since 1994 when I got over my fear of flying at 44 years old, we love the climate there. Moving speech it helped me and so many people I'm sure. God Bless you, your a great man.
Dan, this is still such an unlikely slot video and yet effective. Your channel has always been one of the most consistent and entertaining and more relevant to the average slot player. They are my safe space and help me calm down because you’re so positive and warm hearted. I’m so proud of all you’ve overcome and look up to you. Thank you, genuinely, for doing what you do.

Dan, I heard you reference this video on a podcast and then this popped up on my feed. I lost over 100 lbs 5 years ago and gained back a lot of during covid but earlier today I decided to change that. I also lost the weight with no drugs and no surgery. You are an inspiration to me and to many people. I also struggled with agoraphobia for many years. I missed so many things but today I try not to let fear rule my life. This was 3 years ago you posted this. Can only imagine how far you’ve come. I use to be a whopping 150kg I know what it feels like to be there and all the reasons behind it. I still struggle today but I’m at my best and only get better with age. 44 years old and I couldn’t be happier. Still working on a few things internally. Loving me first is the best. Our story is what we relate to as we all have something that triggers us. Individual but similar. Sending love to you and your Mama & you dog babies. One day soon I will share too my story. daniel.thank you, your honesty is very refreshing. last few days have been so very hard. i myself hate hospitals with a passion. but here i find myself again dealing with them. my mom had a 50cent sized bed sore so we took her to the hospital to get help. only thing the nurse. not a expert not a doctor or a surgeon wanted us to do was put my mom into hospice to die. they wanted her to die cause of a bed sore that needed to be cleaned. and thats what ive been dealing with for 3 days. i spent 11 hours in emergency room.😅i come home bone weary trying to keep my mom alive. then while im going to sleep, i put your vidios on.100 dolarinos. n i smile. first tinm all day, and i feel safe as i listen to u call help police, or jerky face pigs. i smile when u say pop. i close my eyes your voice makes me feel safe tucked in bed sleeping. i cant thank you enough for that lil bit of kindness of u saying hows your day? and id think right now it feels like the pits. i have worry after worry but im determined not to live in fear though i have many good😊 reasons to actually live in fear. then i laugh the piggys made you mad or the lady pies stupid shoulders or the slot machines not coutin fast enough. i smile n sleep. and next day i do it all again and i know ill have daniel to watch when my eyes hurt, my hearts racing, the nurse told me for the 4th time hospice. my head feels like a rocks in it pounding away. then i watch you and that my friend is how my days go. so you made a new friend. : )
my mom passed away, and now im just hurtin. i feel the loss more n more each day. i think of daniel n the doggies. maybe i need a doggie
Sitting here crying Dan. Such a beautiful speech and I watch your videos every day. I just found you a few weeks back. I myself have been through nine back surgeries and had numerous other health issues. I had a horrible time with alcohol for years but found my way out of that trap on my own as I decided one day to change. Thank you for your videos and especially this video. I might be disabled from my back surgeries and feel horrible some days but it’s good to know I am not alone. I have my wife and I have thankfully your channel to watch each day.
