    This is what could be the first in a series of videos covering some simple quick tips in Mastercam. Taking some inspiration from the last video, the one where I found out about the partial chaining shortcut, I figured some videos with these quick little tips would be a good idea. So, here we are...
    In this first video we look at Auto Hiding the on screen prompt, double clicking to End Selection in functions, editing common parameters, minimizing the ribbon bar and customizing that interface, no geometry selection for the Face Milling toolpath, pinning files in the open menu as well as increasing the MRU list, and finally displaying toolpath generation time for your toolpaths.
    As mentioned in the video, I think I could put out 3 or 4 videos like this if everyone finds these useful. These first seven are just the tip of the iceberg! Speaking of what you find useful from our videos...we would love your feedback on what you'd like to see covered in these videos. Here's a link to a quick survey and as a tiny bit of gratitude for filling this out, leave your email and we'll enter you into a draw for some sweet camInstructor swag!

    Love it! Here is one that I accidently discovered: selecting a drill size in 2d toolpath drilling - "tool diameter" - select "equal" from drop down menu than in highlighted "size window" type letter "Q" than enter, this will pop up very handy "Number and letter drill size" chart.

      do you use MILL or LATHE for 4axis or 5 axis machining you know when you chose MACHINE ?? before toolpaths
      or does it matter?
      say my machine was a DMG DMU or a Mazak full 5 axis

      @Christopher Columbus Mill is Haas VF2 and my rotator is Haas HRT160SPH. I don't have an access to MasterCam multiaxis with my current licence...

    I have a question you might be able to help me with . Ok so how Do I change the chosen hi light feature so I know iv picked the correct button . Like when you chain somthing you must click on the edges button or faces button or loop button. I am useing mastercam 2023 and it’s hard to tell what I picked because it’s just a very small dotted line Around the choice. Iv looked a little but inside of options but can’t seem to find it. Thanks for your help

      If you are using Windows 11, not much you can do right now. Hopefully Mastercam addresses this issue soon.

      As long as you have a dedicated video card you should be good to run Mastercam.

    I have an unrelated question, there's apparently no documentation on this that I could find.
    When I use "verify" or the simulator, Mastercam keeps adding a bunch of moves to the part zero between each operation for no reasons. Of course this generates a bunch of collisions.

    • @MachinistEdgar
      @MachinistEdgar ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you figure it out? I had this problem and if it’s the same one as yours I figured out the problem. Go to “ Configuration “ then down to “ Simulation “ and DESELECT “ Tool starts from home position after tool change “ and “ Go to home position on tool plane change “

    I'd love to see a video on Rolling wireframe geometry onto a radius. I have a logo I need to engrave with my c axis lathe. However when I roll the wireframe it distorts it. I'd also love to see more videos on 4 Axis Lathe Programming.
