Aspects from the codex will always be the lowest value. For better values you will need to extract a power from a legendary item, then imprint it onto the gear you want it on. All aspects that can be placed on amulets will receive a 50% bonus and a 100% on 2handers, so put check the values before you imprint because the slot you have it on makes a big difference.
Guys: Before you reach level 50+, and start really making your build with the legendary aspects and all -> Salvage everything you get. The stat difference will often be enough to outvalue any legendary aspect you would have dropped earl anyway. And you will thank me when you will get to the point where you are min-maxing and you have a pletora of component available already.

@GoodSheetMusic gold is just as important don't get me wrong. Also u can obtain upgrading mats from playing the game aswell, ore nodes bears, and caches. I now sell every 3rd time I hit kyovashad when my inventory is full to stack gold because my mats are now overflowing
It’s worth noting that imprinting aspects from your inventory requires less resources than imprinting from the codex. At the same time, don’t feel as bad imprinting codex aspects on 2h weapons, if you’re scrapping legendaries for their materials, often.
As long as you have all aspects, you can comfortably farm T3 for higher tier yellow gear and Imprint on them. Don't stress much min-maxing BEFORE T3. you'll be completely fin as you get plenty of strong yellows fairly quick. I'm playing a druid and if I recall, I had only 2 items with Willpower at the start of T3. less than a hour I got full decent yellows for imprinting.
Great video! At 53 the gambler starts showing better tier to choose, randomly. You can remake the game to get the better tier on whatever you are looking for. Hope that makes sense!

Veiled crystals seem to be the most important material early game, you need them to imprint and re-roll stats, until you’re at the point where you’re constantly salvaging rares the crafting system isn’t really online
After lvl 30 gear the coiling wards are ALOT bigger pain in the butt tho. I kinda wish I had some lvl 29 rings n amus I kept in order to more easily imprint em with what I needed...

I really don't know what you guys are talking about. I crafted like crazy during the campaign. It wasn't a problem for me since I dismantled most things I found, and the rares sell for so much that I've still got millions of gold. If anything, I have too many mats and nothing to use them on.
You say replacing your weapon constantly but as a sorc, I haven't found a good want in ages. Im 51 and wands that keep dropping are all like 42-44 item level.
I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but my 4th obols purchase was also a legendary. I don't recall what gloves they were since I did this at level 30 and have since replaced them, now at level 37. Also, I keep 5 keys on me and restock when I get down to two. Spending obols was absolutely terrible for me in tier 3. Spent 1500-2000 obols got no sacreds (lots of non-sacred legos though) - in tier 3, so far, feels very underwhelming.
Im level 55 in tier 3 and i have extremely hard time finding better gear. I think this is by design though. Feels like im doing to wear what im wearing now for 10 or 20 levels… obols, helltide, grim favors nothing is giving me any better gear. Hard to get used to tier 1 changing gear every level to waiting 10 or 20 levels for a better piece

Can you explain why when I save a legendary aspect with a good roll and you go to extract it and then imprint it on another piece of gear the stats on the aspect from the original gear change? Sorta makes saving the “good roll” aspect rolls pointless.
Up to lvl 42 and I’ve gotten around 12 legendarys so far. The crazy thing is, they’re all in the 20-27 lvl range?? So essentially useless to me when compared to the standard gear for 42.

Bro, don't horde the obles. They are so easy to get and eventually you can't carry any more. If you play a lot they will fill up very rapidly, and it's never a bad thing to get better items regardless of your current level, even on a brand new character. Map events take a literal 2-3 minutes and I generally get paid 30 obles every time.
I picked up a legendary with an effect that makes my Twisting Blades circle around me which has been shredding enemies. I’m hoping I can transfer that over in the next tier. It’s ridiculous for my Rogue.
I play sorc not rogue so idk if you get it from codex but someone else did. I just know you can only transfer it once. So if it’s a max roll or a hard to acquire aspect you will definitely want to save it for your final build unless you acquire another @keanuchrist
Maybe I missed it, but I was hoping for information on whether or not I should replace Legendary items, if I have items (non-legendary, rare, etc.) of higher "Item Power." Does it affect the item power level of drops, if the item power of currently equipped gear is lower; or is it based on character level?
@elliott chances are probably not. If you are getting a +50 damage or +100 damage boost in my experience the extra pure damage was worth it unless it’s like the single best aspect for your build
I've been trying to figure out when is the time to switch from a legendary weapon back to a rare weapon while leveling. I'm level 35. Druid. I got a level 15 legendary 2 handed weapon that increases the amount of companions I have by 1 and their damage by 40%. Thats pretty fucking huge. But the weapon itself, which has been upgraded 3 times too... only has 396DPS because its a level 15. This random yellow in my bag right now has 567. At what point will that weapon damage be worth more than the legendary affix?
*I don't think most video game makers understand the definition of "RARE"* In other words, Legendary items are really RARE and rare items are really "UNCOMMON". This is somethng that bugs me in video games....
Can someone tell me what the icons mean on the top right hand corner on each armor/weapon slot in the inventory section? Here it is some orange shape I'm guessing these icons indicate the items are legendary tier?
That just means there is a "transmog" on the item, making it visually look different. You can change these at your wardrobe in certain cities, and then toggle it on/off while you're in the wild by clicking that little icon.
When you extract aspects does it always lower the strength of the aspect? I've noticed it seems to half the strength of the aspect. Does that mean the best way to to get the gear/aspect you want is simply RNG drops and then re-roll to get the stats/effects you want? This is the thing confusing me most as I'm trying to figure out what to say and what to discard for salvage
Learn to notice in its entirety, you get half the strength on some one handed wpn while you get full strength on two handed wpn! That is one of the example, When you extract or imprint, the rules actually included and don't need to be asked here!

its almost heartbreaking the things that Diablo have always been known for theyve entirely either forgotten or NEVER even KNEW in the first place. to imagine they didnt even do a SINGLE SET of legend armors for each class is just HEARTBREAKING. its ALMOST as if they hired a whole new crew of people who havent EVER played a SINGLE diablo game in the HISTORY of diablo.
The initial diablo game don't have a set armor. Don't be dramatic! Just because D2 and D3 has set armor doesn't necessarily all D game has set armor! I am sure D4 will get set armor sometimes in the future however!
So 1 missing detail, that I still don't understand. I Extracted the power from my legendary weapon (bulid defining), then attempted to imprint it on a new way stronger Sacred weapon. Nothing anywhere in the game tells me I couldn't do this. attempted to put it on the new sacred weapon, and the error reads "This item cannot have Aspects imprinted on them"!!! It was a rare, now I have to go back down in difficulty because I can't kill anymore without the power!

Imprinting an Aspect into a Rare item to make it a Legendary is still not as good as getting a Legendary drop right? Since Rare has 3 affixes and Legendaries have 4. And if you imprint an Aspect to a Rare, it'll change to Orange but it'll still only have 3 affixes.
Do not wear a legendary just because it is legendary. Been playing and taking to friends and we have shared some truly bad legendaries and choose to keep our rare item in that slot.
So, this is basically a tutorial on how to value the different types of loot. The title is misleading for this video. This doesn’t not tell you actually how to get the stuff you want which is totally random through the game. File this video under useless info.
Quick tip: the mats required to reroll a stat line increases after adding an aspect, so do that before imprinting.
^ once you hit sacred gear, focus on getting the best rolls in a piece of gear before imprinting. helps a ton

In my experience spell casters don't replace their weapons as often as melee

i passed into nightmare lvl 49 thanks to aspects, can't rely upgrade because I miss materials and good rolls to swap key aspects :x

If you get a good aspect roll, and remove it from the item to imbue it on another , will that reduce its roll? How does that work ?
The roll stays the same but what you put it on can alter the %

So basically while leveling if I get a legendary with a really good skill, just save it and put that skill on a sacred item in tier 3

Yes it will. It doesn’t reroll the stat. Only transfers it and applies the rules depending on what piece of gear you transfer to.
I learned you can only transfer an aspect to one piece of gear tho. Unable to extract it and transfer it again once it says imprinted.

It uncreased due to the type of gear you put it on. Aspects can get %bonuses for going on weapons etc
You're really missing out if you're not using events to level. I'm early so it could phase out.

Yes, they were called ancestrals. They are in this as well. All they meant, is that the stat ranges on the item were all perfect.
They were called ancients not ancestral, and the red glow specifically was from primal ancients and guaranteed max roll on all stats it rolled with
