[4K] Stylish Luxury in Andaz Singapore's Heritage View Rooms (Room Tour)

  • Welcome to my Heritage View Room at the Andaz Singapore! As a fan of Andre Fu, who designed this hotel, and being a Hyatt loyalist I thought I would find a place to call home base for my future trips to Singapore. Unfortunately, while the location is fantastic (directly connected to an MRT station and only a few stops away from popular Singapore attractions) I can't recommend this hotel for the price they are charging (I paid $400 USD a night). The rooms are nothing special and the service across the board is extremely mediocre (they act like they don't care at all).
    At the end of this video I mention a conversation I had with an employee here. I did not get a chance to record what happened, but I can explain it now. At check in, I was entitled to a room upgrade as a World of Hyatt Explorist (at the time) member. I received a Heritage View Room, which has no difference to the base room besides the view. There happened to be a wedding on the first night of my 3 night stay, so the hotel was full. The receptionist said I can come back to check the next night since everyone would be checking out. I came back the next day in the evening and here's where the problem started... The man at the desk (staff here don't wear nametags so I never got his name... I wish I did though) informed me that I have been upgraded once already. I said I understand, but I was under the assumption that I was eligible to receive the best possible room (excluding suites) available. The man then said he has already done me a favor by upgrading me two categories. (Did you catch that? He said one before.) I asked him how because all we got was a different view (an undesirable one too- I don't recommend Heritage View rooms at all). He said no the Heritage View room is a double upgrade. Looking at the property website, the Heritage View is one category above the base King Bed room. I said I don't think so but he assured me and gaslit me into thinking that maybe I was wrong. I left and while walking to get a snack I checked my app and found I had been lied to. Unfortunately he was no longer at the desk and I never saw him again... This left an extremely sour taste in my mouth with the property in general. The service was already terribly mediocre but being lied to is just a whole nother level...
    Don't recommend staying here unless you are a World of Hyatt loyalist. Maybe you'll be treated better than me, but personally, I'm looking forward to the reopening of the Grand Hyatt.

    Our checked in experiences were nothing special or great, just any AI could do 😂😂

      Haha!! Yeah very run of the mill. I am so excited for the Grand Hyatt to reopen. The concept pictures look sooooo nice!
