I am new to your channel but have been binge watching ! 35 years in the Motor Trade means I am always to busy to get these shows. I have thoroughly enjoyed you taking me on the journey with you. I have a few classics and have had many over the years. Thank you for a very good car channel. Subbed and looking forward to future content.
    Many thanks
    Keith

Appreciate the comments Keith. I’ll continue to try and get a mix of classic shows, car reviews and car stories with quite a few planned this year.

Love the 970S, My brother used to race one in the 1000cc special saloons, they also made a 1071S, Both the 970S and 1071S had the same block as the 1275S but with shorter stroke. My late father restored a Gordon Keeble, GLB 5J. First time out he took mum for a ride in it, turned back after a mile and told her he was going to sell it ! No P.A.S and a devilishly heavy clutch pedal convinced him ! 😁

Some fantastic cars you've picked out there Simon, you have an eye for detail.
I've never seen a Capri that colour let alone in such good condition on original paint.
I've never been all that interested in Panther but you picked out two very interesting examples there, the Solo in particular looks so different to the more traditional looking cars in the range (though no panther ever looked ordinary).
I had a chat with Steve with the Strada at last year's show. It's an exceptionally nice example.
The Multipla on the Fiat stand belongs to a friend who I've interviewed on the channel a few times with other cars.
That Rochdale Olympic sounds right up my street. Simple but well tested mechanicals with an interesting body.

Thanks Mark, you know I like a unicorn! I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw the panther Rio, the Solo i’ve only ever seen them in period road-tests where they got rave reviews, I never realised that they only built 20 and apparently the investment in the project back then was £15 million which was a lot for a small car company. The Capri was in incredible original condition. I could not believe how good the paint was and that it had never been re-sprayed!

The Maestro Turbo looks very, very nice. I own an MG Montego Turbo which i have owned for 33 years.
The Europa is the colour i remember them being in the 70's.
Love Panthers and your right the Lima which this is a late one had Midget doors. The Deville used Austin 1800 doors. No different to any other they used the parts bin but they used them very cleverly. The Rio is very nicely restored. I'm assuming its restored it looks so good. I didn't know the Six (the black one) was in Saudi Arabia. He says they only made one which i have no reason to doubt yet i have seen what i thought was a second one in white which you can find on you tube. Its black one i was only ever aware of though when it appeared at the 1977 and 1978 Motor shows. So i don't know what the story is behind it .I enjoyed listening to the owner of the Rio it was very interesting.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and pleased you spent time with Panther i think most people probably walked past .
So many nice cars to see your spoilt for choice. Once again you have done an excellent review /great and interesting commentary and your knowledge is excellent. Thanks again.

Many thanks for watching and commenting, I love the left-field cars, hence I tend to seek them out. My uncle had an MG Montego turbo, and I remember he raved about it, only the way it went through front tyres was a bit alarming. Having driven Montegos in period I must have another go one day!

The OM617 diesel was unique to the W126 series only in North America, and that engine was upgraded three times before the W140 replaced it.

@@Lot76CARS looks like this particular car is owned by a collector company called Danz Benz. The car was ordered through a Canadian European delivery program but the sale fell through. The car ended up in Europe and in the UK.

@@freepieanchipsgarage that’s exactly what I thought, as I’d seen it on one of his earlier videos, but I went to the MB Club anniversary show in October and the car was there. Somebody commented on my video that it had changed hands from Dan’s Benz collection, interesting enough dans. Benz appears to be selling quite a few of his cars on car and classic at the moment..

@@Lot76CARS it’s an interesting car for sure, as Inca Red was only offered on the W126 in NA for one model year. My upcoming final article for Classic Retro Modern features a 1983 model still being used as a daily! That one has the improved head and makes around 5 more horsepower.
      Great coverage!

@chrisdorrell1 I understand where you’re coming from. I have a Mercedes 190 E from 1990, and I see so many of these completely butchered by modifications that have them sat on the floor or with the compressor engine. Apart from the radio, my car is stock standard and that’s the way it’s staying!
