Next time, Kakarot spends $100 on Gundam Doujin. PS: Protip for if you want to try an expensive mystery gacha: The 3,000 Yen gacha I tried had timestamped Polaroid pictures of previous winners and I saw this in some other stores too. With these machines you at least have a fair shot at winning the high ticket items.
100$ on Gundam thin books? That's... who wants to place bets on whether he's gonna find himself with a handful of Bright(uke)xAmuro... or CharxAmuro. Or BrightxKamille. Or BrightxChar. Or BrightxHathaway.
It's also harder to scrap your failures, unlike deleting unneeded dupe characters, you feel it was such a waste to dump junk gacha IRL. So you might just sell them by the pennies instead.
Oh, funny story, while you have the devil's luck on the G-Witch character keychains, Miomio's VA Lynn hit rock bottom at not getting what she wanted. At least you have a good head on your shoulders and stopped from going crazy on the Ensemble figures, but hey, I love that collection because of the Barbatos.
I've never used a real gachapon before. My first thought would be to just pick one where anything you got would be something that you'd be fine with and go for it, but I didn't know about the accessory sets and whatnot. It seems I've underestimated their fiendishness.
I'm not aware of accessory pack either. Which is hilarious because when it comes to gunpla, the accessory pack were the most rare and overpriced ones (Until GBF exist, at least)
I found a small shipment of Gundam Ensemble gachas at a Target near my house. Bought one and opened it up to reveal... the accessory pack. It cost $8 USD. I was kinda pissed. My curiosity got the best of me, though, and I went back the next day. Only one in the entire shipment still remained, so I grabbed it. Got an RX-78-2. He hangs out on my desk at work now :)
Lol I also did not realize that it also featured accessory sets too. Man, Japan fascinate me sometimes on how much they are milking you if you are a Collector.
10:09 Wait, wait, wait... you're telling me that the HG Aerial is of equal value to the MG Phenex and MG Shiki 2.0, even in Japan? That kit's scarcity is even crazier than I thought...
As a guy who collects ms ensemble,I wouldn't go for the gachapon capsules but I would go for the cardboard box version because 1,you can actually hold them and weigh them roughly and 2,you can squeeze them slightly to feel the frame parts to see if it's an ms or a vehicle or weapon set
So back in October they had Gachapons machine at the New York Comic con shows I spent $20 on 3 figures. one was a dragon ball figure from the new movie while the other was from Warhammer. The last one was a gundam figure that turned out to be the Zeta Gundam. Gamestop has this machine in there store but lately they have been removing them since it keep braking down and they end up selling the ball directly but you get the choices what you want
I think Bandai should make a Gachapon that contains weapons and accessories for customizing your Gunpla, we sort of got that with Build Divers with the SD Gundams that can turn into weapons used by 1/144 scale kits.
I remember when the yen to us dollar conversion was 280 yen = 1 us dollar ( comics/sci-fi stores in the us would not bother with what the conversion rate was as it changed day by day chosing instead to go by a penny-per-yen rate for imported anime stuff ( Hobby Link Japan started so anime fans could pay less, using the actual exchange rate rather than the penny per yen ratio))
Thing is, unlike American casionos, Japan actually requires all the machines to have fair odds, so honestly not the worst. And Im not just saying that as someone who got a RG Tallgeese II out of a Gachapon when I went to Japan 🤣
Mobile Suit Ensemble is a pretty fun line: gachapon gunpla essentially and can be easily combined in different ways, buyee is a good place to get them if not in Japan, nice to see them featured on the channel!
The best prize was getting one of each of the keychains, the experience more so than the keychains themselves. I've never won anything of note in anything. The only good experience I've ever had was drawing a gold foil Michael Jorden card from the very first booster pack of NBA cards and since then I've gotten zilch.
Love the video! Always wish the other gashapon video channels got more gundam ones lol. Wasn't there gashapons that would only bring in pieces that make up a bigger figure?
this is so true, it's so ubiquitous and the variety is so huge with varying prices, I didn't notice to have spent Yens on gachapons that could buy three MG kits.
The ensemble line is pretty rad, and you can just get em in a box of 4 or 10 pcs at hlj. Although sadly the 4pc boxes always sell out incredibly fast. The 10pc boxes are still pretty nice too as you basically get 2 complete sets. If you know someone else who you can split the box with you can easily get a whole set for only 2500 yen. From what ive been told the 4 and 10pc boxes are also just available in supermarkets in japan.
In LA there is a pop-up gacha/crane game shop in Little Tokyo. Probably best to just look for the one you actually want at Anime Jungle or Book-Off tho lol
500 yen for an Ensemble's not bad. I just found them at retail here in the U.S. for $9 per blind box. Got the Zaku II, so not a bad pull. I'd have too much fun with some of the SD/chibi machines you showed off, not to mention those cards!
The one benefit of this may be that these gatchas tend to sell well on American eBay where there isn't knowledge of or easy access to the prizes. Some of those older ones, especially, can sell for 2-3x (or more) the price of the machine.
oh maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan these were THE DAYS ~~~~ played (PAYED) a bunch of these when I was in Taiwan as well, I think they've pretty much stopped these though around 2014 ish
Omg they bring back so much memories for me. Back in elementary school my friends and I would trade these especially the ones from the Next series haha.
Hey Kakarot. I have a question. In Mobile Fighter G, there is a horse that is piloting a mecha horse. If the Assimilation System works for Horses, that means it can work for other animals as well. My question is, what would a Mobile Fighter for these three animals, a Cheetah, a Gorilla, and whale, look like? And what sort of abilities and weapons would these mobile fighters have? And could the Gorilla Mobile Fighter or Cheetah Mobile Fighter beat the God Gundam if given the right weapons and abilities?
We use to have these at a local mall but I thought they were just fixed small keychains. Super bummed I never tried to get one now seeing what they are.
Idk where this recommendation came from hell bro that was a fun trip. Those machines would squeeze every cent out my American ass 🤣 dragon ball super and Gundams
I'm willing to buy all the ones you don't want whatever price you like simply cuz I want to make a display where my Gundam I do like is mass murding all the rest in a diorama.
Always want those Gundam head gachapon but seems almost impossible to get with regular price in US. Speaking of price, I found gundam model kits pricing higher than ever while JPY currency went down very ridiculous
I always import myself and have noticed the shipping costs keep getting higher and higher(and in effect makes the tax higher and higher on top of that) and the hobby has gained significantly in popularity over the pandemic so theres a lot more interest in the product than theres ever been.
@@ApenBaard Very true bro, before pandemic in many US sites $80 I usually get 4 HG kits, shipping usually goes under $5 or free with frequent 10%-25% off. Look at it now, $80 for 3 kits and most of sites only gave 10% this Black Friady. But you know the good thing if this hobby was getting more people to join these 2 years like you said? Bandai may starting to put more attention to North America market, more supply and lower price hopefully it will come true. FYI Bandai recently re print the HG Neo Zeong kits and its available in Asia market now, look at it here, nothing.
Definitely if I ever go to Japan I will definitely gamble for the item I want, but once I cry in dissapointment I can easily cheer myself back up by buying the thing I want.

Insert [gacha is life, gacha is heck] meme here
If a Gachapon is more than 1000 yen it is generally a scam, because the junk items worth far less than this.
Bet a $100 it wouldn't be NSFW, right?
100$ on Gundam thin books? That's... who wants to place bets on whether he's gonna find himself with a handful of Bright(uke)xAmuro... or CharxAmuro. Or BrightxKamille. Or BrightxChar. Or BrightxHathaway.

Better than online game gatcha. At least u get something physical 🤣
wrong

Better than online gacha
Gundam Battle Operation 2 be like
Duplicate and loss in IRL feels more stingy.
Physical gacha is less addictive than the digital ones because you can't easily scrap your loss...
you also have physical money that you run out of vs digital money that you can just keep spending
@@christianlei4478 that's not true, your credit card or bank account can go empty too. Just usually take a bit longer 🤣
I think as someone who hates gambling but does not mind spending extra... I'd probably just go to those gatcha resellers and buy the one I wanted.
This, it'S really not worth it when you can just go and buy from a reseller.
"Surely I wouldn't get the same gacha three times in a row, right?"
Uh oh, gambler's fallacy.

That’s weird. It’s so common here in the States.
@@Borgron Things have changed in the year and a half since the video was posted. Guess we just had to wait for supply to catch up to the demand.
@@Gatherway true. That was around when I was first getting into Gunpla, so I guess I didn’t notice as much.

Legit burst out laughing when Honoo no Sadame started playing over that last GM. Brilliant.
I'm 99% sure the gachas at 0:18 are at the station exit in Yokohama near the giant gundam or at least on the way. I'm pretty sure I've been to those.

Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering why people would use HLJ nowadays due to the shipping costs. Now it makes more sense.
That mini GM's from the Micro Wars gachapon line. I've got an RX-79 and a hover tank from Barnes and Noble.
If Genshin Impact had these Gachapon Machines, you don't even need to play the actual game anymore.
I saw the Hazel booster pack and immediately knew the 100USD kakarot spent was worth it.
EDIT: I take it back.... yikes
I don’t know why but I always like the atmosphere in these kind of stores
Thing is, unlike American casionos, Japan actually requires all the machines to have fair odds, so honestly not the worst. And Im not just saying that as someone who got a RG Tallgeese II out of a Gachapon when I went to Japan 🤣

a votom GM sounds kinda rad actually
I mean, surely the scopedog evokes some of the GM spirit in it right?
Spirit of a GM with the body of a Zaku
This is actually amazing content, definitely earned my sub!
You rolled better stuff IRL than you would of on Gundam Breaker Mobile. Definitely worth $100 😄
honest to god i didn’t know gundam was a anime until less then a year ago i though it was japanses pacific rim or something

Hand them to the shop person and they can restock the machine and you get your money back.

No lie that Gm at the end was a nice cherry to finish the video. Didn’t expect the cockpit to open
The first gachapon machine you tried was an insult to the Leo Master Race. The only cure for it now is the Tall Geese

pro tip: for mobile ensemble the gear set or the gundam are chosen for a specific colour like v gundam is color green
Using a nintendo DS as a base of sorts
I see you are a man of culture as well/10
KKRT wasting his money for 15m straight would be a more accurate title.
