How's this. 3,000,000 yrs aprox NZ was attached to Aus & was sub terrainian. Due to a fault line it broke away & drifted to where we are today. We are on the San Andreus fault line & we we rose up. And we still are. True out the country we experience up to 1,000 earthquakes a day, earning us our 3rd name, being the shaky Isles. The other in case your wondering is AOTEAROA. Translation : Land of the Long White Cloud. Hope you find this interesting. As a Tour Guide & Coach driver I welcome all aboard & note to Aussies that here in NZ we have a Nth Island, a Sth Island & a West Island.😇
Do both, work for six months flying, living on a boat moored up. Then sail making videos for six months. Another fantastic video always so positive and happy.
Hey guys great to see the girls enjoying Frazer Is whilst the boys are boack on board their boats. For John, he has a most difficult decision to make re his future & good luck with that! Its been aan absolutely awesome you have taken us on from no experience when you first set out from Melbourne to now experienced sailors who have sailed all the way up the east coast of Australia with just so many magical experiences along the way but I feel that the Mediterranean is calling. Great viseo of Frazer Island & was certainly amazed at all those tiny crabs running along the beach. Well next stop Brisbane whilst you catch up with editing & your friend Racklea as I saw you in one of her videos, whilst John does some flying till next boat trip beckons. I see no reason whilst you cannot be like Sailing Doodles & just shoot video from wherever you are & talk a lot about yourselves & your boat & what you are up to. Kristina youi have a great way with presentation & John has a great body for the women. I cant wait to see whats next for you guys. Take care & love.
Thanks Glen, so glad you enjoyed this one. Yes, the Mediterranean is def calling. We’ve loved learning in Australia, it hasn’t been easy 🧡🏝️☀️ the tides, currents, swell, long distances etc, but what an epic place to learn how to sail! We were thrown in the deep end I think, but wouldn’t change it for the world. Thank you for your lovely compliments, we’ll keep you posted on our future plans over coming weeks ☕️🙌❤️🤩💭 x

Great trip around Fraser. Thanks. At the end of 1974, 4 mates and I, all 16, convinced parents to drive us to Maryborough where we had hired a very small plane to fly us to Fraser and land us on the beach. There we stayed for two weeks. We fished off the beach and the the Maheno which was still almost recognisable as a ship, ate yugari supplemented with some dried vegetables and rice. we came with a case of oranges so we did not get scurvy 😀 We camped on the bank of Eli Creek and swam in those waters each day. No one else around. We were then picked up of the beach by plane back to Maryborough where we caught the tram back to Brisbane. I have been back a couple of times since. 1974 no phones, no contact just us boys having a wonderful time. PS my grandad ran away to sea as a cabin boy in 1912 on the Maheno out of Invercargill NZ.
Good luck both of you! You're both awesome people, I'm sure whatever you decide you'll do amazingly well! I've loved your videos though and hope they'll continue would love to see you continuing to sail around the world!
Cheers Tony! We can't wait to share the next chapter with you too. Cheers for being with us since the start mate. We feel grateful, you're part of our special crew xx
In any event, I wish you and John the absolute best for whatever comes your way next (the known, and the unknown). Nonetheless I hope you continue to thrive and share the moments of learning, gratitude, exploring as well as the not so great times whatever they may be. We love you both so much, you bloody icons. Keep doing you, we will keep watching, promise! P.s long shot but if you're ever in Cairns next I would love to say hello 🤗
Would he be happy flying turbo prop or small commuter jets for a commercial company? Puddle Jumping somewhere conducive to the Live aboard lifestyle. Like say the Caribbean, South Pacific/Polynesia, or maybe around the Mainland, Islands and Archipelagos of South East Asia? That way you guys could at least still live on the boat and do some island hopping, and he could keep getting up in the air as well. I went to college to be a commercial pilot but had to have several discs in my lumbar spine fused which meant I couldn't pass the physical to get my license anymore. But some of my college friends are flying for big commercial airlines. The ones who seem the happiest though are flying for smaller regional airlines or for themselves, in places like Grenada, and the ABC's, Alaska, 1 friend is based in Bali. Another is based in the Sea of Japan ferrying people and freight around the Islands of Japan and S Korea. Another Flies throughout the Philippines and Indonesia. An acquaintance of mine who was close friends with my older brother is a retired pilot from the US Navy and flies back and forth between the small Islands of the Southwest Caribbean like San Andres, and Providencia and mainland Columbia, and also over to cities from Panama up into Mexico. Just a thought. I don't love being cold, but I also don't do well when it's ultra hot either. To me places like San Diego or Hawaii with their very consistent climate in the 60s and 70s would be my ideal place to live. But if you enjoy hot sticky tropical paradise, it's just a thought, but maybe John could look into applying to international airlines and/or regional airlines operating in the Islands you enjoy spending time in?
Those mosquitoes and flies are terrible pests but there’s an easy, non-toxic way to deal with them, it’s called Peppermint, they hate it. Get a spray bottle fill it with warm water, add 5-7 drops of peppermint extract, shake and spray all over yourself. Mosquito barrier in a bottle. In Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 we wiped a table where food was being served with peppermint extract and had no flies while we ate.
Such a beautiful part of the world. And the best bit: you can explore it on a sailboat by doing a bareboat charter, no license required! We just did a bareboat charter with our friends in January on board of "Alida" and it was such a great adventure. Beautiful beaches and creeks, sailing, colourful sunsets and fun for the kids. Will definitely do it again.
Cheers Lucas ✌️🙌😅 Appreciate you stopping by to say gday and show us some love mate ❤️ It’s going to be an interesting couple of months, can’t wait to share more with you soon!
Hey guys I know John has a big decision but if I can put my 2 cents in John remember what made this adventure possible your fantastic career. You will be able to have many more adventures but being an airline pilot sounds like and awesome adventure itself. Whatever you decide I'm sure it will be the right one for the two of you. Well I know one thing that would make my decision easier to make. If the airline has a policy to keep enforcing the govt mandates of the bioweapon that is not a vaccine, before John returns to work, then I would tell them to shove the job. @0:38 and babies. :) Sorry! Had to for all those Seinfeld fans out there!
😂 Seinfeld is the best!!!
Well I know one thing that would make my decision easier to make. If the airline has a policy to keep enforcing the govt mandates of the bioweapon that is not a vaccine, before John returns to work, then I would tell them to shove the job. Our health is far more important than having their bioweapon and then becoming another unfortunate incident where you end up with a damaged heart and a vastly shortened lifespan.
HILLARIOUS....
The airpod in the belly button got me... haha
