    Welcome to the intriguing world of gold and silver investing! Have you ever found yourself captivated by the shimmering allure of these precious metals? If so, you're not alone. Join me on a journey as we explore the multifaceted reasons behind why we buy gold and silver.
    For me, stacking silver and gold began as a hobby, a fascination with the tangible beauty of these timeless assets. As I started delving deeper into the world of precious metals, my motivations evolved. What started as a hobby soon transformed into a means of financial security and wealth preservation.
    Over time, my outlook on gold and silver investing has shifted. Initially driven by the desire to acquire shiny coins and bars, I began to appreciate the historical significance and intrinsic value of these metals. Gold and silver have stood the test of time as reliable stores of wealth, unaffected by the fluctuations of fiat currencies and economic uncertainties.
    But it's not just about financial security. Investing in gold and silver has also become a way for me to diversify my portfolio and protect against inflation. In a world of constant change and uncertainty, having a tangible asset like gold and silver provides a sense of stability and peace of mind.
    Moreover, there's a certain satisfaction that comes with holding physical gold and silver in your hands. It's a tangible reminder of the value of hard work and prudent financial planning. Each coin or bar tells a story, whether it's a piece of history or a symbol of hope for the future.
    As I continue to stack silver and gold, my reasons for doing so have become deeply personal. It's not just about financial gain, but also about preserving wealth for future generations and leaving a legacy of stability and security.
    So, why do we buy gold and silver? The reasons are as diverse as the individuals who invest in them. Whether it's for financial security, portfolio diversification, or simply the joy of owning something beautiful and valuable, gold and silver hold a special place in the hearts and portfolios of many.
    Join me as we delve into the fascinating world of gold and silver investing, and discover why these precious metals continue to captivate us generation after generation. Don't miss out on uncovering the timeless allure of gold and silver! 🌟 #Gold #Silver #Investing #PreciousMetals

    Going forward, why would any collector buy into any new series The Royal Mint (RM) produce? There will be a 'decline in interest' (to use the same words as they used in their e-mail), from most - if not all - of their customers. Why? Because those who bought into this series will, like BYB and yours truly, no longer trust them and will take our custom elsewhere. And those who didn't invest in this series will think to themselves: "Jeez, I dodged a bullet there"; feel sorry for those of us who got conned - yes conned, think twice about buying from the RM again and, certainly, likely never invest in a series like this one. Well done RM, you haven't just shot a hole in your foot - you've blown it clean off.

    • @TemplarsCreed
      @TemplarsCreed 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Exactly. But this is not the first series they have cancelled. They did the same with the RM lunar series (billion). They cancelled that and said only limited gold proofs would continue, about 8 coins in! Yet, people still bought from them. What they do is they make a nice fancy coin series to follow and then people quickly forget because they're sick of Britannias & Sovereigns. Seen it all before.

      @@BackyardBullion 100% agreed. The second you lose confidence in a mint it's over. To me, we are not buying sweets in a local shop, this metal is pricey but it comes with conditions, expectations and above all buyers trust. RM has certainly lost that.

  • @benjam55
    @benjam55 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

    What a disgrace. The fact they are only willing to offer "Goodwill Gestures" to some customers, and not others, is awful. I shall not be purchasing anything from them in future.

    • @ah5836
      @ah5836 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The royal mint doesn't owe anyone any freebies. (likewise no one is obligated to continue buying from the royal mint too) I'm sure the offer is based on amount spent, if someone who only ever bought a single 1oz silver coin out of the series were offered the same goodwill gesture as someone who spent thousands, that wouldn't seem fair either.

    • @BackyardBullion
      @BackyardBullion  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      It's just really bad on all fronts.

    • @benjam55
      @benjam55 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@ah5836 I agree in some aspects, but the way they've handled it is very poor. Like you said, it shouldn't be the same goodwill gesture for all. However, to have a cutoff and say some people get zero compensation and others get some is quite disappointing. The compensation should be proportional to the money spent for ALL customers, not just a few they deem to be big spenders.
      I think at the very least they should refund the premium, as it is likely these coins will go for spot in future since they have lost most of, if not all, collectible value.

    • @ah5836
      @ah5836 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@benjam55 nearly every premium coin like these sell for less on the secondary market than directly from the mint. Highest premium bullion coin I've bought is a 5oz colorized coin from Canada, was $550 retail, I bought it from someone for $375, and I know if I ever sold it I'd at best be looking at $250. I don't turn to the Canadian Mint and say "you owe me because I can't resell this for what I paid!!!" And if the precedence is set to refund any price above raw bullion if the series is cancelled midway in, it will cause mints to not start up any new series in the future because the financial liability will be too great if it's not popular. I've bought dvd sets in the past to television shows that cancelled unexpectedly before the story was told in full, I don't get any refunds for that, and I never once thought I was entitled to any.

    • @ah5836
      @ah5836 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@benjam55 or a counter-example, I have made some money reselling a couple of the royal mint's alice in wonderland collectable coins, and because of that I do not feel I owe the royal mint one penny of what I made. I am able to take in those gains there, and likewise if a coin I purchase from the royal mint loses collectability and I could never resell it for what I paid for it, that was my decision to value the coin at what I paid for it given all the factors involved, I do not believe the royal mint owes me anything. If they do something like lie about mintages, then that would be a different story.

    Sorry for your situation - I had similar thoughts about TRM series' in about 2019 and 2020 with the Tower of London (HRP) series and others, however, this could make the coins already released, more interesting to collectors in the future...at least Worldwide, don't you think?
    I understand your frustration, it may not be all bad, however!
    Clearly, a £60 coin is not the best way to address the situation...TRM are facing headwinds in all directions - some created by their own actions, obviously - but also the situation re coin collecting; cash usage; political and economic reality around the World. Hence the recent announcement about the ending of World coin production at the end of the year.
    All this said, I can foresee a time when having these coins may be a financial advantage...but as always, timing is critical and that time may not be for 100 years, or so! 😁

    For me there has never been any attraction for non circulated coins, other than bullion. The huge premiums charged (often about £100 an ounce for silver) for a "designer" coin leaves me cold, and there seem to be endless new designs churned out all probably computer generated and robot cut. I'd rather have a Victorian penny or florin.

    Tbh I'm happy that the series is to be discontinued. I'd rather the RM spent more time fixing quality control and milking issues rather than churning out more random coins/series, charging massive premiums and seeing what sticks after the success of the queens beasts, una & the lion, ect.
    I sympathize with those wanting to collect the series but that's the chance you take buying a premium product, it might not be popular and just be worth the metal content of the coin. Feels like buying an oz of gold at $2400 and wanting to get a full refund from the coin shop if it crashes back down to $2200 the next day. I hope you can get it resolved to something you can be happy with, however on this occasion I don't have a problem with how the RM has handled it, they don't owe you anything or have to offer anything imo. Its not like people send them a cheque with the profits they made from some of the series that have done well previously, that they then go on to resell after.
    It's easy to say for me to say this being someone not invested in the series, I'm only wishing those affected by this the best and acknowledge that they'll likely disagree with my opinion.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Tudor Beasts series gets canned, its been months since the 'Dragon' proof was released and haven't see sight nor sound about the bullion versions. I am disappointed. I suspected this was coming but it is a great shame that none of the houses even got completed. Releasing them in a disjointed way was a mistake. I was looking forward to getting the rest of the House of Tudor coins in 5oz silver and the final coin dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II. I am concerned about the Tudor Beasts series now. I sent them an email about the bullion version of the Tudor Dragon and I got a reply saying that the information was confidential and that they cannot comment on it at the moment. Hopefully they will continue it even if the mintage is lower. I would be very unhappy with them if they cancelled that as well. This has made me reluctant to start buying any new proof series from the Royal Mint.

    Forgive me if I go off topic in the video but I would still like to express that I am very disappointed that @royalmint does not mint the special series in the tenth-ounce size. "Lion&Eagle", "Tudor Beasts", "Myths&Legends" are only produced in larger sizes. Although the premium on small tenths is quite high, I think it is a good compromise for collecting and investing, especially lately given the dramatic increase in prices... I would like to know what you think and maybe you can make a video about it. Compliments for your channel!

    I have said this before, RM just don't think long term about the series they are releasing. The Lunar series just fell to bits, the great engravers bullion bars have now reverted to a second Una and lion rather than a reimagined gothic crown design, the colour cartoon 50ps just all over the place.
    Proof Britannias are not commandig the excitement they should and when they dont know what to do they just release some odd 007 bunf and a nice alphabet 10p set that never got into anyones change so rendering them utterly pointless and unknown to the mass population, like most of their 50ps these days.

    I'm confused on the details. With this program, were you buying the coins as each one was being released, or did they have people pre-paying for the future releases? You've spent 3375 pounds on the series, have you received all the coins you paid for? Understand you wanted more, but just trying to understand if this was a pre-pay situation. I looked at their website of product offerings, and first glance the whole program looks to be an absolute confusing mess. Mintages are way too low for the full scope of the planned series, and they have too many needless product variations. If they ditched the 2oz & 10oz varieties, triple/quadruple the mintages, reduce prices by maybe a third, it would have had a greater chance at being a profitable series.
