Been twice, and it rained both times, met a couple in lake Louise that have a condo in Fernie and never ski in Fernie as it rains so much, sitting on a chair lift in the rain with puddles forming on the snow was not much fun
What month did you go? I was there for an entire season and I got rained on maybe once at the last week of the season before the mountain closed
@@Sypher474 always away on a ski holiday during my birthday, so last week of January, haven’t been for years, we go to Vail now
@@rwg2626 yeah, as a local, late january is actually a lot of times prime skiing. mustve been luck, its not that bad all of the time.

How does everyone like Fernie compared to Aspen? I really like Aspen but am considering a long trip to Fernie next winter. I would love to hear some thoughts.
i know its definetely too late, but as a fernie local, i can tell you that some of the best skiing in canada is here. you can count on good snow for the most part of the season, and the runs are super diverse for all levels of skiers/ boarders. the two things that i will say are A; that its probably better to be a skier in fernie then snowboarder, just because of general convenience and some long-ish traverses to get to a few runs, and B; that when conditions arent great, there is NOTHING and i mean ZERO things to do here outside of the hill. never been to Aspen but it seems great too, just a little more ritzy.
