- Zeus presents "Virtua Racing" for the Arcade, a true classic from the golden era of arcade gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the programmers that were involved in making this game.
Year of release: 1992
What a stunningly good looking racer, even today in 2020 it still looks futuristic, those mouth watering polygons, the smoothness of the scenery as it zooms past is just pure joy to look at, this really set the bar high back in 1992 regarding polygon graphics in a racing game, plays so well too, just an amazing looking game, well done Sega on this one!
I have used the "always finish 1st" cheat so I could show the full endings for your viewing pleasure.

This was the first real 3d poligonal racing game. It was quite impacting to watch it for the first time.
Still looks great to this day.
@@ZEUSDAZ It would be a dream for me to play it with mame but I cannot make it work. I don't know if the problem is the mame version I'm using or the bios that is not ot properly allocated.
@@hermesgabriel I got the rom from PlanetEmu and the MAME version I'm using for it is Mameui64 vers. 0.175, works perfectly on my Windows 7 Laptop if that helps.
Not true. Games like STUN Runner predate it. Hard Drivin' was even by Sega.
Not true - Hard Drivin' from Atari games back in '89 was the first arcade racer to make the transition from sprites to 3D polygons.

oh wow! i had completely forgotten about this game. it was quite popular at the local arcade when it came out. such great memories.
Graphically, this game aged like a fine wine. It was light years ahead of 1992 and looks amazing on the Nintendo Switch.

This fun F1 racing game's graphics was a big deal back in 1992. Unfortunately I heard that real arcade cabinets of this had poorly made CRT screens, so they are now very hard to find in original working order. But what I find most impressive about this game is the Genesis port with the SVP Chip, which was extremely insane for 16-bit.
Yeah this was a stunner of a game especially in the looks department, looked way ahead of It's time and still does imo, just be glad for MAME :-D
To think that Outrunners was released the same year of this...

I remember how the engines sounded a bit bizarre. Seeing the characters there puts me in mind of the video for Dire Straits' Money For Nothing.

The 90s wasn't not the ,,golden era,,.It was the first half of the 1980s
Nah not for me, MY golden era was between 1980 to pre Playstation 1 days.
Golden era is Atari 2600 to 32-bit era.

I always have the impression older racing games feel wayyy faster than today's stuff, right? . Possibly because of simplicity in graphics.

Driving backwards over the medium bridge would crash the game, the scenery disapeared and the car then raced on a blank screen.

All Arcade uploads are MAME emulation,...only Arcade.

Zeusdaz - The Unemulated Retro Game Channel also... you here to learn this game without cheating. It’s one of the most difficult games ever made I think. Maybe take a year out. Practise 7 hours a day and by this time next year you should be able to place first. That how hard this game is. You need a steering wheel too I think.
@@iwanttocomplain I'm just happy I can play it even if It's with a PS3 controller, looks fantastic linked from my laptop to my widescreen crt tube tv :-) ,...not so much here after TH-cam compression but still watchable.
Zeusdaz - The Unemulated Retro Game Channel the colours look well reproduced but the fidelity is a touch blurry.

MAME emulation with very real accurate colour, these not default i think, so i interesting which sander do you use))
@@GothamRCity There are options within MAME to change brightness, contrast and other stuff but I didn't change any of them on this game, I just used the default settings, maybe during conversion it changed the look slightly but personally it looks ok to me :-)
Zeusdas is focused on video game footage recorded from real hardware.
