My wife saved my life when I had an asthma attack while driving. I was panicking and my vision was going out, so I let go of the wheel. She had to grab the wheel and steer us into a parking lot, and then dug through my bag to get my inhaler. Then she bought me frozen yogurt. She's definitely my hero!

Steps to meet Link in person and become his new friend:
    1) Find the most efficient route to Rhett's house from Link's house.
    2) In the morning, before the filming of GMM, drive that route, and somewhere along the way, stop your vehicle in the middle of the road.
    3) Wait.
    4) When you see Link approaching you, that's when you tear off your button-down shirt revealing your GMM t-shirt you're wearing underneath.
    5) A new friendship is created.

It is now day four of me sitting in my parked car on a busy intersection waiting for Link. I am very thirsty, hungry, tired, and scared. As soon as I fall asleep, I get woken up by tires screeching and cars honking, as people swerve around my car in the middle of the night. My GMM t-shirt isn't very comfortable to wear for four days straight, but I must keep it on. Link, where are you?!?

My father and I once saved a 16 year old buy stranded on a small Island filled with cows, we have alot of those in Denmark, his rubber dinghy was ribbed so it couldn't float, and he was too far away from main land, so he hadn't tried to swim. It was the middle of september, so he was frozen to the bone, he had been there for three days with nothing but a life vest on, so we found him, since there was no cellphone signal we got him back to the main land, then called an ambulance.

My hero tale is almost the same, I was visiting my family and 6 of us were walking down the street when I saw a stalled motorist, I immediately sprung into action and started walking towards him and all 5 of my family members were saying no, warning me that I could get hit by a car or saying "someone will help him"
I just turned and said "I'm someone" and walked out into traffic with my arm raised like the way Rhett joked about, I helped the guy push it into a gas station and refused when he tried to give me 20$. that is the proudest moment of my life. Espescially considering I'm usually seen as loser of the family, the one who fails or is wrong all the time...they now all look at me differently. Which is something I wasn't even considering that day, I saw a guy who needed help so I helped him.
I believe it's called the bystander effect, the more public something is the less likely someone will stand up and do something, everybody assumes someone else will take care of it...just like that girl who got raped behind a school while 12 people watched. When interviewed they said they were sure that if she really needed help someone would help her.
Next time you are in a situation where you say to yourself "I'm sure somebody will help them"... BE THAT SOMEBODY!

About four years ago I went back to my home town in Michigan. We were driving over a bridge and I saw a lady in a motorized chair fall over in her chair into the road. I had my mom stop in the middle of the bridge and I helped the lady up and got her chair back on the sidewalk. She cried and thanked me and that moment made my whole vacation.

I know this is a really old video, but I am glad I came across it. I might as well tell my story. It was 2007, I was 16 and still in High School at the time when I had joined the fire department. I was in the department for a year and a half. There were a few calls that were tough. 2007 head on collision with children in the backseat of both cars. And then there was the one call I can't keep out of my mind. It is in my thoughts and my dreams. It was Christmas Eve of 2007 when a water heater exploded catching the house on fire. The husband fled without calling 911 or doing anything and the mother and 3 children were still trapped inside. Thankfully a neighbor from down the road saw the fire and got them out. All 4 got out with 3rd degree burns. By the time we arrived the home was engulfed in flames. It was quite possibly the longest 8 hours of my life. Shortly after my family left the department. My father, mother, and sister were in the department as well. Shortly after leaving our chief died from lung cancer. Every call and every person we have ever lost has pushed me to continue helping people no matter what it is. I have seen many collisions after leaving the department, not as many fires, and when a life isn't in danger I spend my time helping the homeless. I do my work without expecting anything in return. Never have. Never will. Even doing the smallest things can make you a hero in another persons eyes.

I walk in the direction of the scream. It was an old drunk woman who had feeld down in the ditch of the road. when i saw that it was a lady i helped her up and brought her home. I dont know if this saved her but laying down in the snow a whole night at winter can defenitely get deadly. She was very thankfull.

I saved my dad's life 2 years ago. His heart went into ventricular fibrillation in his recliner. I woke up to mom screaming for me. I did CPR for 10 min straight before the paramedics had him under control. They had to shock him 5 times before his heart started again. He then had a pacemaker/defibrillator put in a few days later. Thank God. That scared me shitless.

Good job Link. I remember when I was very young my parents pulled stalled car full of a stranded family. The poor guy was pushing his family uphill over a long bridge, and was exhausted. He would lay over on the trunk of the car and rest a minute and then push. No one was helping the guy and I was so proud of my dad for hooking up chains and pulling them to a garage. I remember waving out the back window to the guy all way and him waving back and smiling big. :)

  • @minecraftlover67

I once saved a whole bunny family
There was this really mean boy at school, about 7 but HUGE boy, and he's just literally kill EVERYTHING that he'd come across, whether he'd stomp ants while in the public or stab random furry creatures while he was roaming in the woods.
One day my mom made me go play with him in the big field that separates his and my house, and we found a bunny den
    hidden in the grasses.
    I'm like "awww so cute!"
BUT him being him decides to kill them and then do some weird science experiment with it, i don't know.
So he whips out his knife and starts to thrust his arm into the hole, stabbing randomly, and I was yelling at him about how he was stupid and he shouldn't kill innocent creatures.
He wasn't listening so i tried to yank him away BUT he SLASHED at me with his knife and i fell down in the process of dodging, he went back to stabbing randomly.
So, me, who i've to say was about 12 at the time but i took karate and i was an orange belt (not that good but it helped)
and so i grabbed a big stick near me and swung as hard as possible at his head, connected, and he jerked back and dropped his knife. I grabbed it and punched him so hard it knocked him clean out. Then i ran home and told my mom what had happened.
The bunnies were unharmed, and i heard on Facebook he's in juvy now, I think for stealing 100$ from a resturant

Something like 20 years ago, i was out drinking close by of a beach, it was really late, almost pitch black but anyways, i heard some noise from the water and went closer and closer and i heard it was a girl yelling something, i ran to the direction of the voice and reached the girl and pulled her to the beach, she was drunk as crazy and gone there with her clothes on, then i left her to paramedics or some security guards dont remember really. but anyways thats my most heroic moment in life. and she had tracked me down and like a month later she came and thanked me for most likely saving her life that night.
    Greetings from Finland

So I pulled over and it was this old lady and I ask her if she was ok, she said she was fine but freezing. So I gave her my work winter coat I keep in my truck and cranked the heat and waited with her until the tow truck came to pull her out

Some old lady stalled out her Honda in the left hand turn lane to the new bridge that took over 9 months to complete. She stalled out when everyone was coming home from work causing major back ups plus mega risk for cars that had to get back from a dead stop to highway speeds. I had a tow rope and a brain and was able to pull her to safety and clear traffic all within minutes of it happening. I would do it again anytime any place I always stop when I can

I pulled up with flashers on and blocked for him and climbed out and helped his put them back on. I once saved a girl from choking to death, a guy from getting run over by a car and a friend who was trying to commit suicide (he now lives a good life) :)

I was walking home with my best mate and as we were crossing the road a car came speeding round the corner and I pushed as hard as I could on my friends stomach and he went flying on to the pavement. I jumped in the air and I don't know why but somehow landed on this guys car bonnet and walked off his car checked my mate and he only had a few scratches but I still saved his life.

I was 10 years old and me and my friend spotted a little kat, on the rail roads. I thought, hey lets get her over it and bring her home, and thats what we did. We didnt walk on the rail roads, we made the cat come over to us when we thought it was safe, she finally came and i picked her up, asked some people in the neighborhood and finally brought her home. The cat is now grown up, just like me, and she still visits our house some times :)

Helping behavior is studied in sociology. There's actually a lot to it.

I once during Spring Break saw a bunch of kids running though the forest (next to a school). I saw that the kids were running from a fire they set underneath the bleachers. So me and my friends sprung into action and put out the fire. We then exchanged looks of heroism realizing that if we didn't do what we did a forest, school, and a couple of houses would have been burned.
    True story.

I have done it several times when I was a lifeguard. Nothing too special. Just made sure those who swam while I was on watch swam safely and made it in and out of the pool while I was there.

You did great! I hope you realize that now that you have that "Good Feeling" it feels addictive. If you make a resolution to do one good thing for any random person a day/week, you know you can truly change a life or someone's state of mind. Kindness is never Bad. And it's in ALL OF US. All we have to do is TRY. And when they say thank you, what do I owe you? You say Nothing, Pay it forward".
