I just did a Ford E-450 meat wagon the other night. About 12,000 lbs. Had 83 psi in my bags and I'm overweight at 85. Step on back end scraped a bit. Was 3am and the ambulances last trip anyway, it hit a moose. Step was not the worst of its problems 😂
You’re meant to have one strap pulling towards the back and towards the front so they pulling in opposite directions then the vehicle cannot go forward or backwards 👍
aye, let the truck do the graft, my baby was a '86 10 ton cargo with Vtec railed slidebed, spec, + hiab, even had red stripey seats like a XR3... tweaked motor + hand throttle, so body off in 7 seconds, fastest recovery in the north-east, you could handle 4 recoverys in 45 mins [police stipulated time], £500 in 1 hr, not bad for 1998... [yeah, still miss it...]
Hi Paul! , jesus sounds impressive and bet she was a beast in her prime! Fair play! I was born in the wrong era 🤣 thanks for watching and the comment! GDB
Is a 12-year-old ambulance common in the UK? In most Australian states ambulances are owned by their respective state governments. Having an ambulance more than about 6-7 years old is rare here, and private emergency ambulance services are technically illegal.
Love your content 👍 I’m looking to start a recovery business. I am just wondering do you need an Operators License? And do you have to use Tachographs?
Hi Yes i used to like with luton vans on previous trucks but this leyland sits as low as a 7.5 ton truck so measured once and thats it really, if i ever get an unusual high vehicle i have a height stick in cab!
Great show I'm an retired ex recovery driver my self bring back great memories ❤❤❤ love it
Hi Andrew thanks for watching! Glad it brought back some hopefully good memories! GDB

Can't beat the older wagons. My wagons are all old bones but they never let us down. Your money stays in your pocket longer too with oldies lol

Hi Greg hope your well mate! 120k truck not needed. I like the simplicity. As long as there are no zero emission zones.

DAF watching the Video this is the upgraded 17.5 Ton Version you could buy from the Factory.
Ofttt a 17.5 ton one of these would be a MACHINE!!
Private Ambulance, is that a coroners unit?
More likely it's an ambo owned by a first aid company hired for the show at the ground.
Is this at Staffordshire Showground?
Evening yes you got it!
Date 👀
You will need a newer truck if you need to recover deliver to a caz city Or just pass the charge to the end user { working man }
Hi we dont really go into emmission zone areas! Tend to stick local! Thanks for watching!
Restore the leyland??
She will be soon! GDB
